“Pink complex crystal of Florencite-(Ce) - Florencite-(Sm) - Florencite-(Nd) (crust-intermediate zone-core) in white quartz from the type locality of the samarian IMA2009-074. Note that Sm-dominant zone is invisible on the photo, because of it is very narrow and located under surface, inside of the crystal, outer part of which is composed by Florencite-(Ce). This Florencite has very remarkable dichroism - under fluorescent lamps light it has salmon-pink colour, while under incandescent lamps one it is cranberry-pink (see daughter photo). Analytical data also are available on daughter photo. Specimen size is 6.5x3.5x3.5 cm. Specimens of such quality and size can be counted by fingers of one hand. Collected by the author - Svetlana A. Repina. Pavel M. Kartashov collection (#3394) and photo. ”

“The same under incandescent lamps light. Pink complex crystal of Florencite-(Ce) - Florencite-(Sm) - Florencite-(Nd) (crust-intermediate zone-core) in white quartz from the type locality of samarian IMA2009-074. This Florencite has very remarcable dichroism - under fluorescent lamps light it has salmon-pink colour, while under incandescent lamps one it is cranberry-pink (see daughter photo). Analytical data also are awailable on daughter photo. Specimen size is 6.5x3.5x3.5 cm. Collected by author - Svetlana A. Repina. Pavel M. Kartashov collection (#3394) and photo. ”

“EDX spectra of Florencite-(Sm) (the upper one) and Florencite-(Ce) (the lower one) from Prepolar Ural. Unfortunately I was unable to take sample from inner Nd-dominant part of the crystal without damage of the specimen. Florencite-(Sm) (IMA2009-074) composition is - ((Sm0.17Ce0.15Nd0.12La0.05Gd0.03Pr0.02)0.54Sr0.35Ca0.11)1.00Al3.00(P1.70S0.30)2.00O8(OH)5.84. As we can to see, it is an intermediate member of triple Florencite-Svanbergite-Crandallite isomorphous series. Probably this is transitive composition along Florencite-(Ce) - Florencite-(Sm) boundary, because authors data show depletion in Ce of IMA2009-074 from intermediate zone of such crystals - ((Sm0.38Nd0.22Gd0.07Ce0.04)0.71Sr0.12Ca0.09)0.93Al3.14(P1.77S0.21)1.98O8(OH)6. Composition of Florencite-(Ce) from surface of the crystal is - ((Ce0.29Nd0.20La0.11Pr0.05Sm0.03)0.68Sr0.22Ca0.10)1.00Al3.00(P1.83S0.12As0.05)2.00O8(OH)5.80. Pavel M. Kartashov analytical data, collection (#3394) and photo. ”
