Stand and fight. Part 2
By AJ O’Brien.
An awful nightmare
Polly awakes in bed
eyes crowded with fear,
heart filled with dread.
Looking across the room
seeing an empty bed,
Molly is not there.
Can she really be dead?
Dark silence broken
a knocking upon the door
Polly gets out of bed
and walks slowly across the floor.
With a trembling hand
slowly she turns the knob,
the heavy door swings open
and there stands…Oh my God.
Molly dead Molly
her dress blood spilt red,
two eyes of liquid gold
bulging from a twisted head.
Once beautiful red hair
that sparkled in the light,
has gone forever
and is now deathly white.
Her nose leaks fluid black
lips cracked and bleeding,
this little monster’s hungry
It’s belly needs feeding.
Mouth filled with pointed teeth
a black tongue covered in blisters
upon which tiny spiders feast,
these girls are no longer sisters.
Molly’s hands reach out
nails curved and black,
pointed and sharp as razors.
Each one eager to attack.
She grabs Polly’s arms
their eyes lock together,
Molly stops. Hesitates.
The time is now. Or never.
Blood red tears appear
as Molly begins to cry,
She pulls her sister close
and whispers: I won’t let you die.
Pushing Polly away
she staggers back,
as the monster within her
demands that she attack.
Turning towards Polly
with eyes full of hate,
Molly screams
Run Polly run. Before it’s too late.
Polly moves toward the door
her sister trying to hold back
such fear fills the room.
Molly’s about to attack.
Outside, the rain crashes down
lightning tears open the sky.
Inside, Polly has decided,
It’s time to do or die.
She stops in front of Molly
takes hold of a trembling hand,
You can’t fight him alone.
Together we’ll make a stand.
