Posing as tough and decisive, but then when questioned, as anyone should be questioned who wishes to have power over you, Hillary whips around and accuses you of bias! Democratic centrists were represented by the kleptocratic Clintons for a long time. Now the party has gone far Left because the Clintons have discredited by their sleaziness centrist politics.
This blog is looking for wisdom, to have and to share. It is also looking for other rare character traits like good humor, courage, and honor. It is not an easy road, because all of us fall short. But God is love, forgiveness and grace. Those who believe in Him and repent of their sins have the promise of His Holy Spirit to guide us and show us the Way.

Is the Left ginning up this whole controversy over the NFL?

At Hot Air, Jazz Shaw has a different take on the NFL controversy. He believes
This has little or nothing to do with police shootings, racial profiling or any of the rest of it. What we’re seeing is an almost brilliant and concerted effort to damage, if not eliminate, the National Football League.Read more here.
Why? Because the activist Left has despised the NFL for years. They hate everything about it. It’s a game filled with big, tough, manly men engaging in the closest thing to warfare you can manage without guns. It’s a game rife with symbolism and, yes… nationalism. Even people who would never buy an album from a country singer could feel their blood heating up when Hank Williams used to sing, Are you Ready for Some Football. The military loves football and they fly jets over the stadiums in formation and send our nation’s finest out to pay tribute. And it’s not just the military. Our police and other first responders are frequently called out for honors at the games. Everything about it screams of apple pie, fireworks and patriotism. (Or, if you prefer, God, guns and flags.) And the activist Left hates it. Probably the only sporting event they despise more is NASCAR.

Who is telling you what to smoke?
At PJ Media, Sarah Hoyt writes,
...The funny thing is, most of the drugs that are depressants (ganja and heroine, for instance, or opium) seem to correlate with ancient civilizations in which the vast mass of the ruled submitted to the whims of the rulers. Even the khat chewed in Somalia seems more a way to while away life without tuning in to it.Read more here.
And once you think of that, the fact that tobacco is fought with every possible weapon in the left’s arsenal — while we’re cheerfully enjoined to partake of a joint and told that pot is universally beneficial -- will make you raise your eyebrows.
After all, extending the war on smoking to vaping is even crazier than the second-hand smoke crusade, and though I personally benefit from it, there is absolutely no reason to tell restaurant owners they can’t run a smoking establishment. If the effects are as awful as the left thinks, surely those establishments would have no clientele. On the other hand, if people want to smoke while eating, what business is it of government to tell them they can’t?
...In the end, it comes down to: “Who is telling you what you should smoke?” And: “What kind of society do they want?”
Because the substances you indulge in absolutely shape the society we have. Do the tobacco-hating/pot-loving left want you to have another (pot) cigarette and learn to forget?

Incitement by the Left and media = Alexandria shooter
The shooter in Alexander, Va. did this:
Ace writes,
Scalise was shot in the hip area, a staffer was severely wounded by a bullet, a female officer was shot in the foot and a male officer was shot before shooting the gunman.
Ace writes,
Shooter Was Big Fan of Queen of Conspiracies Rachel Maddow; Driven to Violence By Climate of Hate Pushed by Left and Media
—Ace
Belonged to many anti-Republican hate groups on FaceBook, wrote hate letters to the liberal media about Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly, was part of a "99%" protest against the 1%.
The same media which told us that toxic hatred emanating from the right caused a guy obsessed with mind-control by grammatical rules to shoot Gabby Giffords will now tell us that their own messaging had nothing to do with this cat.
Meanwhile, leftwing Twitter openly celebrated and called for more.

New York Governor commutes sentence of Weather Underground terrorist
Joseph Klein reports in Front Page Magazine that Governor Cuomo of New York has commuted the sentence of leftist terrorist Judith Alice Clark.

On October 20, 1981, Clark joined members of the violent radical group known as the Weather Underground, who robbed a Brink's armored truck in Nanuet, New York. Clark, who did not pull the trigger herself, was the driver of one of the getaway cars. Her partners in crime killed a Brinks guard, Peter Paige, in the course of the robbery. They also killed the two police officers, Waverly Brown and Edward O'Grady, who had attempted to stop the getaway vehicles on the highway. Clark was captured after she crashed one of the getaway vehicles. Just before her arrest, according to the 2008 decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit denying Clark’s petition for a writ of habeas corpus, “police saw Clark reach for a nine-millimeter pistol on the floor of the car.”Read more here.
During the two years Clark waited for her trial on felony murder charges, she remained as defiant as ever. In court, she called the court officers “fascist dogs.” She described herself as an “anti-imperialist freedom fighter,” who refused to accept the legitimacy of the court. She declared that she was involved in “a just struggle for national liberation by New Afrikan forces and New Afrikan people” and was fulfilling “the responsibility of white anti-imperialists to give support to that at every level.” She and two other defendants filed a motion seeking to be accorded "prisoner of war status" because their criminal prosecution was "an international dispute" related to "the wars of liberation."
In her closing argument that Clark delivered to the jury, she called the court "a tool of imperialist rule.” She added: “The D.A. calls what happened on October 20, 1981, a robbery and murder. We say it was an attempted expropriation because revolutionary forces must take from the powers that be to build their capabilities to struggle against this system…Revolutionary violence is necessary and it is a liberating force.”

"Winning the war of words is just a proxy for winning the war of ideas."
Z Man believes,
the terms Right and Left have outlived their usefulness. Most people don’t know the origin of these terms and just assume they mean Socialist versus Capitalist or Liberal versus Conservative. Like so much else about Western politics, these terms come down to us from the French Revolution. The aristocrats sat on the right side of the Assembly and the commoners sat on the left side. Ever since, radicals and trouble makers have co-opted the term “Left” because they want to pretend they are on the winning side of history and champion of the people.
Calling modern Progressives “the Left” turns history on its head. Progressives are the champions of privilege and advocate what amounts to the return of active and passive citizenship. They and their attendants will be the active citizens while the rest of us, including whoever happens to wander in from who knows where, will be the passive citizens. The only difference is the 18th century aristocrats were honest about what they wanted. The modern aristocrat prefers to lie about his intentions.
...More important, sabotaging the verbal weaponry of the other side. The new twitter feature that lets users block key words is a no- so subtle attempt to ban certain words and phrases. After all, if you ban the word, you ban the idea behind the word. That’s just as good as banning the person behind the idea. The challenge for the trouble makers will be to evolve an esoteric way of saying the same things. Winning the war of words is just a proxy for winning the war of ideas. One is a reflection of the other.

The world will never be the same again.
Michael Kennedy writes about Brexit at Chicago Boyz,
...the political left is hysterical at the idea that voters don’t want to be governed by remote elites.Read more here.
...Who could imagine that people would not want a thousand bureaucrats in Brussels, or for that matter Washington DC, micromanaging their lives ? Well, I know someone.
Donald Trump is a happy guy today, and his timing seems to be excellent. Last week, when the “Remain” side was expected to win, he was told it was a serious mistake to go there.
Trump, on his first trip overseas since he embarked on his White House bid, faced criticism in the US for making what was essentially a business trip at a time when his campaign has been faltering, falling behind Clinton in the polls and in fundraising.
Yes, who can imagine a politician actually conducting business and creating real jobs ?
...There were two referendums on Thursday. The first was on membership of the EU. The second was on the British establishment. Leave won both, and the world will never be the same again.
...Can the GOP really be so out of touch with the legions of out-of-work Americans — many of whom don’t show up in the “official” unemployment rate because they’ve given up looking for work in the Obama economy? With the returning military vets frustrated with lawyer-driven, politically correct rules of engagement that have tied their hands in a fight against a mortal enemy? With those who, in the wake of the Paris and San Bernardino massacres by Muslims, reasonably fear an influx of culturally alien “refugees” and “migrants” from the Middle East?
