Lavrov – Patience of Job & A Very Tidy Mind

Lavrov gives a Master Class in handling Western Spin Narrative Construction NBC “news”..

One of the anchor points of my personal philosophy of life is to “keep a tidy mind”. That means to keep out as much of the flood of lies, distortions, propaganda, marketing tripe, dis- mis- mal- and just wrong “information”, and to think clearly and in an orderly way about what is known and proven true and correct.

This is something that takes constant vigilance and a wary eye about all the flood of bogus messages floating around in pretty much all media. Up until a couple of decades ago “peer reviewed scientific paper” was a good filter. Since then, not so much. “Science” has been corrupted by “funding agencies” to serve political and mercantile agendas now; so we have a crisis of “inability to replicate”. Meaning that one can no longer trust “science” to police their own “tidy mind” and must DIY (Do It Yourself) on “scientific veracity”. That Vit-I has kept me and mine clear of covid for 5? years now despite lots of public interactions is a good demonstration of that fact.

Why mention all this?

Because one of THE WORST places to get any accurate information is “Main Stream Media / News”. The so called journalists are, now, largely propaganda operatives pushing agendas. It is no longer “just the facts” or “all the news that’s fit to print”. It has become “just the desired narrative” and “all the spin we choose to print”.

A great example of that is the NBC reporter who “interviewed” Trump, when he walked out after it was clear she had no interest in his answers and really just wanted to control the exchange to advance the NBC Narrative. An even better example is the interview below from the APT Channel. In it, she “interviews” Lavrov – Foreign Minister of Russia.

Constantly needling, pitching The Narrative (even when devoid of facts), constantly trying to avoid letting Lavrov actually present the Russian POV Answers to her “questions”, talking over him when she wants to cut off a line of explanation that would damage The Narrative, and all the other “journalistic tricks” of the modern propagandist journalism schools.

Lavrov, in comparison, largely manages to hold to his exposition. He recognizes the game (having been subject to it for many decades). He refuses to be talked over. He refuses to be deflected away from his actual factual answer to the biased and “have you stopped beating your wife” style questions. That he does it all in a 2nd language (English) is even more impressive. (There are a few times he resorts to a circumlocution or ‘odd’ word when clearly he has a better one in mind in Russian – like when he talks about the Ukrainian Government calling ethnic Russians in the Donbass “species” and what was meant is more likely “animals”).

Lavrov gives a master class in “tidy mind”. Recognizing the “spin” in statements and questions. Pointing out the spin and inaccuracy (i.e. mistakes and lies), NOT accepting them; and then calmly stating the Truth, in enough detail to assure accuracy, despite the attempts by the Spin Mistress to cut him off or deflect him away from a complete and accurate reply.

It is exactly this kind of “compare and contrast” between the Western Media and Western Politicians, when compared with interviews of Lavrov & Putin, and even more so compared with the speeches of Lavrov & Putin: that has demonstrated to me that The Western Media is spinning a load of crap propaganda, while the Russian POV (expressed, consistently and verifiably) by Lavrov and Putin is, in fact, the accurate state of affairs.

Both Putin & Lavrov “keep a tidy mind”, have mastery of the (verifiable!) facts, speak in detail and with careful precision (something The West has no tolerance for, treating it like a Russian Novel and wanting the Cliff Notes, but is essential to complete and accurate understanding). While western media is pushing for editable sound bites, not explanations and understanding. Despite the hectoring and badgering of “Grievance Degree” so called journalists spinning a Narrative; Lavrov does a very polite and professional job.

Anyway, it has become a minor pleasure for me to listen to Lavrov & Putin speaking with Media (both western, and in translation the Russian and other Eastern Block journalists). The differential treatment from Western media as compared with other media is remarkable. The ROW (Rest Of World) asks a respectful question and then shuts up and listens to the answer.

The West could learn a lot about actual reporting from the ROW, but instead, asks a slanted loaded “gotcha” question, cuts off the answer if they don’t like it (goes against the Narrative they are building), talks over the “guest”, is generally rude, and usually either un-informed or mis-informed. Also impatient and want’s no answer longer than 2 seconds – often demanding “yes or no” answers to things that can only be answered with a paragraph. “Have you stopped beating your wife? Yes or No!” or “Do you agree Russia bombed churches, schools and civilians when you illegally invaded Ukraine? Yes or No!”…

So here’s the video, 56 minutes of Lavrov being polite and professional in the face of a yapping chihuahua ankle biter being rude, unprofessional, and stupidly politically biased. He’s been patiently explaining the same bit of history (the same provable recorded historical facts of Ukraine, the Maidan, etc.) for a couple of decades now. I’m amazed at his patience and professionalism after all this time, faced with the same stupid spin from the same stupid liars over so long a time. (He was recalled from retirement, and I think you can see a little bit of “I’d rather be fishing” in his face some times…)

Jun 8, 2026 #Lavrov #Russia #Ukraine

In August 2025, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov sat down with NBC’s Kristen Welker for a wide-ranging and often tense interview on Meet the Press. Facing tough questions about Russia’s military campaign in Ukraine, civilian casualties, peace negotiations, Vladimir Putin, Donald Trump, and Moscow’s relationship with the West, Lavrov defended Russia’s position while responding to direct challenges from the host.

This full interview has drawn renewed attention following President Donald Trump’s contentious June 2026 interview with the same host and network, leading many viewers to compare how both men handled difficult questioning under pressure.

Watch the complete conversation and decide for yourself.

The APT channel (that I don’t know much about, seems a bit Russia Biased at a first glance, and seems to put up new videos hourly or so):

Understanding Ciabatta – & some History

Where did Ciabatta bread come from? & how to make it.

I really like Ciabatta bread. I’ve made it once from a Bread Cook Book recipe. I had no idea about the history (literally designed by an auto race driver) or why it worked (high hydration). Here’s a ‘splainer:

Now I’m off to the kitchen to explore making it his way ;-)

A Look Forward on The NATO / Ukraine War on Russia

Russia is at the end of patience, Europe is in the Fool Around stage, and the USA is Outa Here…

Sorry to be the “Debbie Downer” here, but “Reality Just Is”, and the reality is that Ukraine does symbolic pin-prick drone hits inside Russia that are of no real military consequence; then uses them for Big Propaganda via the Western Lame Stream Media that are pwnd by the TLAs (Three Letter Agencies) of The West. They fantasize that somehow they can win a ~”Propaganda war” and this will somehow have Putin removed from office and THAT would let them “Win” the war in Ukraine. But it won’t and they can’t.

The reality is that NATO has been drained of inventory of weapons and ammunition to the point of impotence. Further, Russia has learned how to defeat most of the “Wonder Weapons” of the west and of the USA. Blend in that the European members of NATO have been “outed” as having no military strength worth mentioning, no industrial capacity (nor demographic capacity) to rebuild the military strength needed to take on Russia.

Now season with the NATO Rift when the idiots in charge in the EU decided to deny the USA rights to use bases that the USA staffs and often built, and even denied transit through airspace. Leading many in the USA to cheer on Trump and Rubio when they ask “of what use is Europe to the USA?” and the corollary “Why ought we defend it then?”.

Even before considering the way the USA is presently already fully occupied with Iran & Cuba, and maintaining a “presence” globally: It becomes clear that NATO Strength comes almost entirely from the USA on the USA Dime. Then ask what happens when the USA is P.O.’d at European NATO, no longer agrees to be exploited as “policeman for the world”, and would have difficulty mustering enough additional fighting force (and munitions…) to engage with Russia in the defense of the yapping chihuahuas of European nations. Then notice that the USA Credit Card is maxed out and we’ve got a past due notice in the mail…

The mantra that NATO is to “Keep the Americans in, the Germans down, and the Russians out” is failing on all counts. Mertz is talking up a big German Army Buildup (with what money & industry, and using which energy supply TBD…) while Trump & Rubio are asking “if they are not there for us, why are we in?” and Russia is saying “You folks in NATO have been attacking us with a Proxy War for 14 years now, but don’t listen to us, maybe it is time to just shut you down.”.

Russian Stage, Status, and European Delusional Attitude

The simple fact is that the Europeans (including the UK and remotely the Canadians) have been sucking their own exhaust so long (after smoking up all their own “supply”…) that they live in a fantasy world. It is obvious from how the “leadership” talks.

After destroying their own energy supplies, rendering their economy non-competitive and plunging into de-industrialization and recession: Somehow Germany thinks they can manufacture all the ‘kit’ needed for an army big enough to take on Russia? While their major basic industries are all headed to bankruptcy or China.

The UK has a fantasy of being a naval power, with a half dozen old worn out ships in dry dock. They can’t even keep rubber dinghies from invading their own coast.

France fantasizes about providing a “Nuclear Umbrella” to replace the USA, with a handful of nukes in old subs that the Russians can take out easily. All while their society is in free fall and rioters own the streets of Paris.

Then the Baltic States are just sure they can stop Russia by mustering up a few Platoons of soldiers… enough to last a good 10 minutes against a Russian battle hardened force. (Note: that’s about the length of time it takes to bleed out…)

Sigh.

It is all intended to “keep America in”; but they screwed that pooch when they denied use of bases and airspace.

I, for one, as a USA Voter: Will NOT AT ALL be in favor of risking even ONE American life to defend Europe (at this point… maybe after a decade or ‘turn around’…) I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one.

Meanwhile, back in Russia:

The fantasy of “turning the people against Putin” has sort of worked, but not at all as intended. Yes, there IS growing displeasure with Putin, but NOT for being in the war; but for being To Timid and Not Attacking With Full Force. The Russian People, especially after the attack on the school dormitory killing young girls, are wanting more defense against NATO and Faster, not less.

Putin has seen this too and has stepped up the pace. I expect it to accelerate from here. Mr. Z and his NATO handlers have poked the bear enough, and now a very pissed off Russia (from leadership to people in the street) is coming for blood and destruction of the annoyance. And yes, compared to Russian military size, experience, and strength, Europe is just an annoyance at best.

By attacking Moscow, Ukraine has demonstrated that ALL of Ukraine must be brought under Russian control to end the threat to Moscow. By the Baltic States either launching drones or maybe allowing Ukrainian drones to pass over them to attack St. Petersburg they have demonstrated that it is desirable to assure they can not be the source of any future missile or drone attacks. They have put themselves on the battle plan.

The only question is will Russia care enough to remove them from the threat map now, instead of later; and maybe a little bit about how: via occupation or via intimidation.

Looking Forward

It looks to me like Europe is hell bent on having a full on war directly with Russia (now that their proxy war has failed). They don’t understand how much they have already lost via the damage to their own economic ability via destruction of energy supplies and loss of manufacturing ability. Plus they have done nothing to increase military strength for a decade or two.

All while Russia went from 900 K men to a 2.2 million man army, fully equipped, rotated through battle so “battle hardened” and experienced, and has a full arms manufacturing ability making weapons The West can only dream of having.

I hope this can be ended after Russia takes most of Ukraine (or maybe all of it) and before the EU decides to do the stupid thing and attack Russia directly. I fear it will not, and that Russia will have to go to the German border to stop the threat. But we’ll see. (Like it or not.)

NATO has managed to unify the Russian people behind war. It has managed to burn up the existing inventory of weapons systems and ammunition, rendering itself toothless. NATO has let Russia learn how to defeat their Wonder Weapons, all while Russia has missiles The West can not stop. Way to go, idiots.

I’d wager not one of the Western Leaders has read Tsun Tsu The Art of War. Russians clearly have…

A Video Summary

This is an interesting video from World Affairs In Context where Larry Johnson is interviewed by Lena Petrova about how he sees things. Not surprisingly, I found his observations mostly aligned with mine.

At the end, Larry J. foresees economic hard times hitting about July / August and that the USA will need to cozy up to Russia to get nuclear fuel and fertilizers, along with Diesel. I’m less sure about that. While I do agree that somewhere in the June/July/August range the “already in progress” draining of the supply chains for all of those things (partly via Sanctions and partly via the Strait of Hormuz) will hit with significant economic force (more in Europe than in the USA, but here too); I’m less sure we will cozy up to Russia as the fix.

Venezuela is increasing their output of heavy crude, sent to USA refineries. Nuclear fuel bundles have a decades long cycle time and I expect existing demand can be met by running them a few months longer than the original plan. Then, the only fertilizers impacted are Nitrogen fertilizers. Easily made in any country with cheap energy, and we have cheap energy. Though I do wonder about where all the DEF fluid (urea solution) needed by newer Diesel Trucks will come from…

Were I a farmer needing added nitrogen, I’d just plant a cover crop of nitrogen fixing legumes or clover. Frankly, it is what I just did in my garden area and lawn. Spread clover seed over it. That’s the old school practice. It is the Rest Of World that will hurt from the fertilizer shortages. For the USA it will just be higher prices as we out-bid the ROW buyers.

Though I do suggest putting up a few months of provisions. Mine is all done now. My best guess is that it’s about 3 months of “ready to eat” in cans, home canned jars, or vacuum sealed Mylar bags of grains (mostly rice, wheat, and flour). Then another 3 months of Freeze Dried in #10 cans stuff. Vegetables, fruits, dry milk, dry soups, and meats. Those are my “forever prep” as they have a 25 to 30 year lifespan and I don’t ;-) so I hope to not need to use them. The other (wet stuff in cans) was my old “rotate the stock regularly” prep and is slated for consumption in any case. Just overlapping the two inventories for logistics reasons (ALWAYS build the new before consumption or destruction of the old… looking at you Germany and UK) and a little bit due to “current global conditions”…

So, once again, I encourage y’all to “put up some fixins”… ’cause I’m pretty sure it is baked into the completely drained supply chain and blocked Strait that July to August is going to be a bit rough…

An A.I. Reports On Computerized Traffic Enforcement – As People Become Grist For The Money Mill

Welcome To Our Computerized Overlords…

So here’s a new one… In the video below, we have “The Asian Guy” avatar / A.I. product reporting on Automated Computerized Traffic Ticketing Systems on the I-95 corridor. Places where no human is involved in issuing tickets to drivers for a wide assortment of “violations”.

I’m sure this will spread. Once a new money generation scheme comes into existence, the spread is directly proportional to State Budget Gaps and Political Greed (both with unlimited maxima…)

So what are these systems? I was surprised (but only a little) to discover how many things it checks. At on-ramps, your your plate is scanned, an automated check for current registration is done, and tickets issued (via mail) for anyone over 30 days post renewal. At various points, plates are scanned and an insurance check is done (better hope your insurance company notifies the State Database perfectly AND that the State never makes a mistake). Of course, in some zones (no longer restricted to just work zones), speed is checked and “your ticket is in the mail”. This now includes dropping below the 45 MPH minimum freeway speed limit.

The ones that surprised me were the automatic “cell phone use” detection, so I guess I won’t be looking at my phone to find out the time (displayed on top without any activation) as it is my “watch” too. I wonder how good it is at telling the difference between a Cell Phone in hand and a DayTimer little black book? Then the HOV lane multiple occupancy detection with InfraRed. I wonder how good is is at picking up a baby in a rear seat in a rear facing car seat under a blanket…

Then there’s the distracted driver detection. No idea how that works. Checking eyes open? Blinking fast enough? How does it work with sunglasses? Or if you are looking down at your coffee cup for that moment as you want to assure it isn’t spilling? Or “Mom” hollering at the kids to quiet down?

In high traffic areas, speed tolerance cut from 10 MPH to 3? that’s going to generate a lot of cash. Then the “following too close” detection of 2 seconds? I’m sorry, but try to find a place on urban I-95 where cars have a 198 foot separation at 60+ MPH. That’s 10 pickup truck lengths. I’m from the generation where we were taught to have 1 car length for each 10 MPH, and even there, on the freeways, I find people pulling in front of me just off my bumper about 2 car lengths ahead of me if I leave even 1/2 of the desired gap “open”.

Me? Well, I hardly ever use I-95 anymore. A short bit getting to the boat, sometimes. And the Brave A.I. reports no such crap happening on I-95 in Florida (yet)…

Florida does not currently have automated speed enforcement zones on I-95. Automated speed detection systems (cameras) in Florida are legally restricted to school zones and construction zones, not general highway travel lanes.

School Zones: Cameras are authorized under Florida Statute § 316.0776 to enforce speed limits 10–11 mph over the posted limit during specific school hours. Citations are mailed to the registered owner, carry a $100 fine, and add zero points to the driver’s license.

Construction Zones: While some states use cameras in work zones, Florida law currently prioritizes school zone enforcement for automated systems. Work zone speeding is enforced by law enforcement officers, with fines doubled for violations.

I-95 Specifics: Enforcement on I-95, including the 95 Express Lanes (which have a 55 mph limit), is conducted by Florida Highway Patrol and Road Rangers using traditional radar/laser or airborne timing methods. There is no provision for automated camera enforcement on general I-95 travel lanes.

Drivers on I-95 should adhere to the posted 70 mph limit on general lanes and 55 mph in express lanes, as violations are enforced by human officers who may use concealed or aerial surveillance.

Though I wonder if it really is true that the "Express" lanes have a 20 MPH lower speed limit than the regular lanes…

I also wonder if the Brave A.I. would really be squealing on the Ticket Mill A.I. and if it talks with the Asian Guy A.I. … The world is getting just a bit too nuts for me with all this A.I. cruft & slop.

We are at the start of an A.I. driven Police State, where the A.I. RoboCop will be assuring all the humans act in accordance with the latest Government Directives issued by their A.I. "studies" of just what is best for us and how we ought to behave (in conformance with their decisions…).

Those endless hours and days in Middle Of Nowhere Alaska and Canada with nothing electronic in sight are looking better and better in hindsight. 2 or 3 days without even a traffic light; and forget cell service… But there were bears, moose, and more.

Well, here's the video that tipped me to this happening. Red Flags? Use of Trump Image when he has nothing to do with the story. “Fines Nationwide” when I-95 is not nation wide (but users can be so maybe it’s OK hype?). Overuse of “Urgent” for something that supposedly already happened a few days ago. But whatever.

So is it true or is it A.I. Slop?

I don't know. I did a brief search and turned up older dated articles about automated speed traps in construction zones, but none of the rest. However if it IS new (as the date in the video suggests) it is unlikely to have a high hit count in searches (yet).

Me? Well, until proven otherwise, I'm going to spend more time on back roads where there isn't enough money to be made to put in all that automated computerized money harvesting equipment.

But I also don't go anywhere very far away very often anymore. The Alaska Run was the last big item on the bucket list. Now I'm more interested in mastering Florida Gardening Quirks. I just hope that the Surveillance State doesn't decide to do areal checks on plants or a comparison of household size to total beer & wine purchases ;-)
