Sadje G’s: What do you see

Time returns me to a moment, but the memory hits different and many seasons later, the chill now startles …

and it is said that when time takes us back, we oft learn what the first passings failed to teach – and the nostalgia is not for the moment alone, but for the person who first lived it …

beneath younger skies
where stars held grown-up dreams
before time knew us

My wordpress woes...still continues😟...but i am hoping to have it resolved soon ... and be back here and over at yours ...🤞

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Apologies for not visiting over at your blogs- i am trying….🙏

Thank you, Gray…🤍🙏🍂

Davids : W3

From Reena :
East meets West
For this week’s W3 challenge, writers are invited to combine one Western poetic form with one Japanese poetic form.

Shadorma Haibun
Haibun is tightly written prose, preferably nonfiction, written in first person. Replace the haiku in this format with a shadorma, and feel free to vary its placement.
You may place the shadorma at the beginning, middle, or end.
Shadorma follows the syllabic structure of 3, 5, 3, 3, 7, 5.

Her expressionless face failed to hide that look in her eyes…eyes that reflected the burdens upon a tired soul.

She was carrying the world …  and it was heavy … she was at breaking point … but fighting to walk steady – and we knew, even the smallest gesture of softness would undo her in ways no one would know how to mend. This battle was unfortunately hers to fight.

…and as hearts ached for her, it was not comfort nor softness that she needed- it was faith in her strenght…

life reshapes
aches of quiet ruins
piece by piece
time’s promise
in each dusk burns a new dawn
and the ash … windblown

Apologies once again 😬- for errors in form or format…🤍🙏

#in faded moments#

An attempt at : dVerse’s Haibun Monday 5-25-26: Remembrance hosted by Frank J. Tassone

I searched for you in the lazy warmth of the rising sun, and in the melodies of soulful songs,  between words of meaningful lyrics and in passing winds weaving through golden leaves … and dusk – it came as it always did, soft … slow … subtle … so silent – still strangely, i found no trace of you in those moments that were once so … you.

where words now ring hollow, and expressions wound, in meaningless sentiments and insincere actions, an arrogance that ridicules the vulnerability of innocence,  affections that lack that touch of gentleness … in the midst of heartless gestures and cruel intentions at the hands of a cold cold world that suffocates emotions – in the suffering – i see you.

where once i saw you in all that you were, now I find you … in all that you were not …

when time returns us
in faded moments we find
the meaning of life

…and i remembered you today,  not for love nor for death, but for the life you once painted in the warm colours of your soul.

Apologies for errors in form or format  🙏…and for the lenght 😬… this one ran away with my thoughts… 🙃 …🤍🙏

Eid Mubarak to all observing 🌹🤍🌹

#untethered#

Susi’s :  Senhai Saturday

darkening skies brood
errant waves surge untethered
silent, the rocks wait

when tides overwhelm
wave after wave rising to
crash upon its strength
