The only way to celebrate National Hamburger Day is in New Haven. IYKYK
Louis Lunch is the birthplace of the hamburger sandwich.
🍔 It started in 1895 as a small lunch wagon.
🍔 In 1900, a customer requested a meal they could eat on the go, prompting Louis Lassen to sandwich a beef patty between two slices of toast et voila - the hamburger was born!
🍔 Served on toasted white bread, their burgers are famously simple, with no ketchup allowed.
