What a weekend!

 We had a fun weekend!

We had our very first Pinewood Derby!

We made our cars the morning of. It probably comes at no shock that Preston was in charge of that one!

But somehow we pulled it off and had them painted and ready in time for the big race!

Lincoln was able to race in the Open Class. He had a lot of fun watching his car!

Everett had a lot of fun too! We just had fun being a part of it all. There were some people who came with some pretty sweet cars so we will have to remember that for next year.
(Why is this picture so off center? I can't figure it out...moving on.)

Then the real celebration began! Lincoln turned 6! We went to the "Movie Theatre". Epic was playing and we had a concession stand where they had their own money (Monopoly Money). They were able to buy their movie ticket, popcorn, candy and a drink.

We were able to watch our movie in "3D". Really we just thought the glasses would make a funny picture. All in all it was a great day! We love that little Lincoln boy!
He bring such joy and happiness to our life!

Icing and Sprinkles...oh and snot.

Today was a day of firsts...
Today I actually gave my child icing in a bowl as a snack.
And she enjoyed every bite.
I really just needed more time to make Birthday cupcakes for Lincoln's kindergarten class. So I knew that icing in a bowl would do the trick.
I'm kind of thinking icing in a bowl could get anyone to do anything, so I am definitely going to log that idea away for later.

Liza Jo was a big help! And she didn't throw a hissy fit when there weren't enough cupcakes left for her to dive into. That was a big first!

But the biggest first of all was the fact that Rosie had sprinkles stuck inside her nose. How did the sprinkles not fall out you might ask? They were held in there nice and tight by good ole fashioned snot.
I was impressed.

Let's just hope none of "those" sprinkles landed on any of the cupcakes we sent to school.

Waiting for Happiness

I'm hoping that no one reads blogs anymore because then this can become my online journal. :) I find comfort in this old blog for some reason. There is so much history here.

Well, I've put on a pretty good front for a while, but moving to Montana has been hard. I can't figure out what it is.
Is it this little apartment that's hard, after having our amazing, big beautiful house that was completely done, comfy, and familiar?
Is it the lack of friends and support?
Is it the change in culture? Now we see smoking, drinking, gross billboards and bumper stickers and people with bad manners and language.
I really can't figure out what it is. But I did find something...
"We shouldn't wait to be happy until we reach some future point, only to discover that happiness was already available all the time." -Dieter F. Uchtdorf
Maybe that's it. Maybe I'm waiting for a house and friends and comforts that I do not have to MAKE me happy, when the choice to be happy is already here.
Everyone on Facebook is doing this 100 happy days. I don't necessarily want to do that, but I do want to write down every Friday on my blog things that I am grateful for or things that I find joy and happiness in. My goals, my dreams, my hopes. This should be fun. I think it will help.
Sometimes I look at this old blog and look at my old posts and I'm so grateful that they are there.
What a great way to use media! See you tomorrow my dear old friend.
(Maybe I should change my blogs name to "dear old friend"...hmmm, I'll think about it.)

The Joys of Motherhood!

What a fun age these little kiddos are at. Miss Rosie loves baby dolls. She was having so much fun sitting next to this baby and combing her hair. I had dressed Rosie earlier and Liza Jo said Rosie needed a skirt. I said, "Rosie do you want to wear a skirt?" Liza Jo said, "Are you crazy! Of course she wants to wear a skirt!" Liza Jo is teaching Rosie the ropes. That's for sure!

One of my favorite things to do is make these little guys bed and leave them a snack and a note. That way when they come home from school they can know how much they were missed. They love it, but note to self, don't make chocolate chip cookies. Little sisters find the leftovers and have way too much fun smearing chocolate everywhere! Oh well, such is life!

Days like this make being a mom so rewarding and fun! I love these little kiddos!

Kowabunga!

Can you tell that there was a daddy home dressing this baby? Lincoln did love the fact that Rosie was wearing his shirt.
On a side note, I think you can tell a lot about a person by who their favorite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle is....

This is what happens when Dad isn't home! I'm thinking this one is worse...but really funny!

The Lees Family is Back, Jack!

Where has the time gone? I can't even remember how to put pictures on my Blog! I don't know if anyone even looks at this anymore, but it was so much fun seeing what my friends were up to that I thought I had to put some pictures up here so they can see how much the Lees Family has changed!
Liza Jo isn't a baby anymore! :) She is 3. Doesn't she look like my little mini me? I love her!
We moved to Montana! Crazy I know! We have been fishing and hiking, and camping, and riding bikes! All the things that we love to do. We are building a house next month! Yeah, because apartment life is a real bummer! :)
We have been traveling and doing all kinds of fun things. We hope that life has been treating you all well! We look forward to keeping in contact with you. I will try and keep up on this crazy blog! :)

Oh, and are you wondering who this little sugar plum is??? This is Rosalyn Mae Lees, but everyone calls her Rosie. Don't you just love her! :) We do! She is 15 months and the sweetest thing EVER.

Liza Jo Lees

So a lot has happened since I last blogged, but we'll just stick with the most life changing event for today.
I had my baby! A while ago. :)
On October 1st at 4 am little Liza Jo Lees was born. I love her. She is beautiful.
All these pictures were taken by my beautiful talented sister who totally sacrificed so much to come and see me. I love her!

This is me in labor. Who has a photo shoot in labor? It was fun though.

Preston hard at work timing my contractions. He got the easy job!

Here she is! Little Liza Jo. She is so sweet! She weighed 7 lbs. 14 oz.

She loves her dad. She loves talking to him. He tells her she is pretty a lot. That is probably why. She also loves her brothers. I'll have to put pictures of them up later.

Liza Jo brings me such joy! I love having a daughter.

I hope everyone is well and sorry I haven't blogged in forever. Hopefully I will be better. Can't make any promises. :)
