A TMI Confession

If you want mo drama, click over to my other blog  where-in I discuss the depressing side of weight loss. Here, though, in true Jana form, I'd like to share a bit of TMI with you. Today I am wearing a blue cardigan over one of those tank tops that has the shelf bra built in and I feel like I'm not wearing a bra which makes me feel a little like I'm at home which may or may not have lead to me kicking my shoes off and almost taking at nap at my desk. Also, all tops should come with built in shelf bras that feel like you're not wearing a bra. Just sayin'...

Friday Thoughts

A) Friends and co-workers: I've lost 41lbs but that does not mean I don't still struggle with body issues. I still have 40lbs to go before I am no longer considered morbidly obese by the medical community. I am working at changing myself from the inside out in a positive way. What I'm doing to or with my body bears no reflection on anyone else. I'm dressing differently because for the first time in 20 years, I feel as though I CAN dress better. A whole world of wardrobe options has opened up to me that I didn't have access to six months ago. I'm sure it's jarring to you to see me no longer hiding under tent sized t-shirts and baggy pants but there is NO NEED for anyone to feel threatened by it and I for sure don't appreciate the constant notification that you think it means I think I'm fine, nor do I appreciate anyone shaming me about it. I do not think I'm fine. I'm not trying to catch a man. I'm just over here figuring out how to live m...

Creating New Habits: Self Improvement for 2019

You know how I've been saying for the past little while that I feel God moving in my life as though He is preparing me for something big? Part of that preparation is instilling in me the need for further self improvement. Improvement beyond my body, or the size of it. My family and friends are all guilty of holding me back. Or, at least, I'm good at using my family and friends as an excuse to be held back. They are guilty of discouraging me from growing and changing. Discouraging me from pursuing my dreams or at the very least, they make me feel stupid for even expressing an interest in something other than just being who they've pigeonholed me into. Not because they don't love me but I feel it's more so because they are afraid of how my changing would affect them. Or that my interest i...

2019 Look

Image
So...I bought my first pair of boots since I was in jr. high and I'm kinda proud of them. Especially proud of them because a) they were on clearance for $20--regularly $70!! and b) they aren't just ankle boots...kids...I haven't been able to wear anything other than ankle boots (hello sexy fat calves!) since jr. high. So high fives for ME! I also invested in a size smaller jeggings. Not wearing them here because I'm saving them for tomorrow.  haha But I'm feeling good. Feeling a little bit sassy, to be honest. I'm super hopeful for the new year. I probably have enough feelings about it to write a whole separate post about it but I'm in the late afternoon lag right now where writing isn't happening. But I was really excited for my look today (hello vanity!) and wanted to document for myself later. Maybe some day soon I'll look back at this photo and laugh because future me will look so much better! ;-) In the past I'd have updated with a ...
