FMF - Five Minute Friday

FMF: Cold

It’s time for another Five Minute Friday and for this weeks prompt Kate Motaung chose the word:

The temperature was -8 degrees this morning.

It is now a balmy 14 degrees. Once again tonight the temps will be in the negative, -2 is what is predicted. Just like last night, I believe it will be colder.

There are Cold As Ice, icicles hanging from my gutter.

My yard and deck are filled with sparkling diamonds, which we know Diamonds Are Forever.

Earlier this week

Not sure this picture does their luster justice.

Despite the icicles, diamonds and cold temperatures, it is a good day.

So go rejoice and be glad in it.

This is the day that the Lord has made;
    let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Weekend Wisdom

Weekend Wisdom: Show Up

In the midst of inches upon inches of snow, unplowed roads, salt shortages, freezing temperatures, water main breaks and boil alerts, let us remember one thing:

See how many ways you can find where He shows up during the next few days.

The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;
the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.

Numbers 6:24-26 (ESV)

FMF: Unusual

Good Morning! It is time for another Five Minute Friday post. This week’s prompt is Unusual (in honor of this weekend’s weather).

11:13 a.m. EST – Go!

Well, another snowstorm is headed my way. That is not unusual for Ohio but it is for my family in Texas. My advice to my cousin was to not forget the eggs when he made a run on the grocery store. After all, how can you have French toast if you only get milk and bread? He was in agreement.

Yes, my pantry, refrigerator, and freezer are stocked with food due to picking up an online grocery store order on Wednesday when it was 31 degrees and roads were clear and dry.

Dashboard

My phone gave me a snow squall warning earlier this week. This is the picture I immediately took while standing at the sliding glass door.

While that snow squall is unusual and scarier than a Steven King novel to my family in the south, to me it was wimpy.

Remember what is normal and ho-hum for you, just maybe unusual for someone else.

Praying everyone is safe this weekend whether the weather in your area is normal or unusual.

P.S. Here is a link to Sir Tom Jones singing It’s Not Unusual on the Ed Sullivan Show (1965). While it is a snappy-peppy tune, at least it is not Disco. ;D (My long term readers know I have thing for Disco).

11:36 STOP – Yes, I went well over the 5 minute time limit.
