Feline Friday with Jake and George

Image
The two neighbourhood mooches! (Both have homes.)   George yesterday morning, disappointed that he didn't get a second round of treats before I popped out for a quick errand. (Don't feel sorry for him, he got a second round late in the afternoon. Besides, does he even look like he needs more?)     Jake this morning.     Happy Friday, all. For those of us still working, it's "Fri-yay!"

Monday Musings

My time off went quickly, as vacation days and long weekends do.   Below: Sunrise on May 21st. Cellphone snapshot, not enhanced.     I got my little garden done over the time off, with five new perennials to replace those that didn't survive our winter, plus a few annuals as filler. I also put down 12+ bags of mulch, which makes everything look so much nicer. As small as the garden is, it still took three trips to garden centres, two courtesy of a friend and their car.   I will admit publicly that I do not like gardening. I love flowers, my soul craves flowers, and I love the end result, but the actual work? Weeding? Not so much. I don't mind getting dirty, that's not it....I'd rather be out in a barn, cleaning stalls. (At least in my mind I would. I'm not sure my 60+ year old body would agree with me on that one.)   We had a few hot days during the time I was off and that made all the cherry and apple blossoms pop, along with the lilacs.      ...

I'm not sure why I waited so long

My new "smart" TV came the next day and set up was easy, though a bit tedious as I opted to do it manually.       I don't know why I waited so long to get one! I love tuning in to quiet jazz during work days, and while the images are AI (which I am not keen on), I admit I look at those pics and think, I could live there. I wish I did live there!    And I love streaming (that's you, BritBox*). At some point I'll probably end up cancelling cable altogether, though not in the foreseeable future.   (*If you're a fan of Jane Austen type productions, I recommend "The Other Bennett Sister," now finally streaming on BritBox. There's nothing like Regency-era yearning. Swoon . And no, I don't yet have Netflix, in part because I think "Bridgerton" would take over my mental and emotional life. I've seen enough of season 4's "Benophie" on social media to know I'd become obsessed. Iykyk!)   Anyway, we're still waiting ...
