Tiny minority within a Tiny Minority (Or a very large one)

I (Google/ Alexa) just did a very interesting calculation.

If there are c.350,000 Messianic believers in the world, out of c.8.1 billion, they are an incredibly tiny minority: 0.004%

I’m not sure whether or not this figure makes any distinction between Jewish or gentile-born Messianics, but I suspect that we can assume not. In other words, I think this figure includes both.

I won’t make any additional comments on this right now (I shall ponder for a while), other than to compare the Christian population, which is 2.28 billion or 33%, and the mainstream Jewish population, which is 14.8 million, or 0.2%.

Figures from 2020.

Top 12 Guidelines for Tough Conversations

I just thought I would share this introductory podcast episode that I’m listening to today on Podcast Addict, even though I probably disagree with them in some quite fundamental ways, this list of guidelines seems really helpful generally, and specifically for interfaith dialogue.

Coming Soon – Liberal Messianic

This is a project I have been toying with for years, but hadn’t previously worked out what it might look like, or how to make the idea a reality.

In a nutshell, I’m looking to create community and support for Liberals, Progressives, Humanists, Doubters, Heretics, Agnostics and Atheists, who either have an Interfaith family connection to both Judaism and Christianity, or who have a connection to the Messianic movement but don’t feel comfortable in its conservative, fundamentalist current form.

It is an adjunct to the L’Taken Project, calling for a Reform of Messianic Judaism.
