This is a quick description on how to create a
droplet application out of any shell command.

The idea is take from
http://blogs.perl.org/users/tom_wyant/2011/12/perl-droplets-for-mac-os-x.html

You don't need to repeat this step because
the exifdate.app is already created and included here.
This document just explains the process.

--Start the Script Editor from under /Applications/AppleScript/
--copy/past the below applescript code into the editor
--save it as Application Bundle exifdate.app
--copy the exifdate command line untility into exifdate.app/Contents/Resources/

------------------------------------------------------------------
-- based on perl droplets, see http://blogs.perl.org/users/tom_wyant/2011/12/perl-droplets-for-mac-os-x.html
on open argv
-- Make the file names into strings containing quoted POSIX filenames, and concatenate them with spaces between.
	set shell_argv to ""
	repeat with arg in argv
set shell_argv to shell_argv & " " & quoted form of POSIX path of arg
	end repeat
-- Our exifdate in the Resources directory of the application bundle.
set exec_cmd to quoted form of POSIX path of (path to resource "exifdate")
-- Run the exifdate commad. The file names appear in argv. Its output to STDOUT is captured in result.
set result to do shell script exec_cmd & shell_argv
-- Display a dialog containing the result.
	display dialog result as string
end open
