Tech News from TPN – The Teleporter Network in Sansar

DMP Teleporters

Technical problems with one of my experiences made me realise that even the big capacity VR World of Sansar got their limits.

Sansar will always be developing for many years to come and recently I discovered a very clever script made by Delacruz Technologies a so called dialog script. Sergio Delacruz used this system for his experience The Orphanage of Angels and was so kind to put that script on the Sansar Store.

Since a few months I took the decision to expand the capacity for my experiences and the TPN network. This means that I will be allowed to create up to 20 experiences and decided that 9 of them are exclusively for TPN, our members and for the Sansarians in future using the TP Portals.

TP Draxtor Sansar

The dialog script is perfect in handling the Teleport Destinations with several options all inclusive after activating the script: Hover Text, Dialog Screen and very important: an option to include the TP link in chat screen!

TPN EXAMPLE THREE

Pointing in the direction of your chosen teleport destination shows you hover text. A simple left click mouse shows you: Approach Invisible Cube and Teleport Link in Chat Screen. Click on them will activate the TP link in chat: you can read the description of the Teleport Destination. Approaching the Invisible Cube located at the bottom of the Teleportal, will direct you right away to the chosen Teleport Destination.

TPN EXAMPLE FOUR

The Hypergate in Open Sims inspired me to start a Teleporter Network in Sansar. If you divide the huge number of Sansar Experiences nowadays over 9 experiences, I am sure that development goes fast forward in making Inworld Teleportals.

The main thing will be a learning experience, so I would say: To be continued and have fun seeing your experience added in future at The Inworld Teleport Experience!

Finally we can sit (and meditate) in Sansar!

After so many requests and patience regarding the option to sit in Sansar, it happened in the end yesterday:

Linden Lab pushed the limit yesterday in a 3 hour maintenance and the rewards were amazing! We are able to sit, wave,point,laughed out loud,dance with eachother and many more animations.

Later on many realised there was more! You can communicate now sort of cross-over in chat between VR users and Desktop users improving the meetings and events.

Another important tool is the behaviour of the objects you are are importing in Sansar. the settings you can change before uploading in light effects,keyframed, dynamic and more, very important for future Sansarians who are curious in what Sansar is all about as a Social VR World.

You can imagine that after the long (sit) wait, there was a real party atmosphere among Sansarians with funny images,jokes and almost disbelief in what we can do with all these new gadgets in the near future. It showed me in what you can achieve together as a strong community: The passion & hard work in creating a new world with the latest technology is resulting now in exiting innovations thanks to a solid base.

The cooperation between Linden Research & Sansarians is fantastic and worth mentioning!

From Ready Player One ~> Aech´s Garage to Mars Outpost Alpha, they are all together now as Sansar Destinations via TPN the Teleporter Network in Sansar.

Instead of going back to the Sansar Atlas to find one of the Sansar Studios Experiences, you have now an alternative in teleporting inworld from Westminster London. Not a return teleport yet from the studios but a nice start.

Speakers Corner Teleports A new network is coming alive in Sansar !

For a new social VR world like Sansar is, it´s important that you are maintaining the short lines in socialising & meeting each other. Many worlds are using a Hypergate, HUD or Search Engines inworld and easy to use tracking the person online or pinpointing where they could be regions away.

Sansar is still developing in these areas but they have a strong tool inworld: The local & remote teleport scripts. After the newest release in updating Sansar it´s every time fingers crossed how the teleporters will react. This time I was lucky, only one teleporter needed fixing after the 21st of march Sansar update.

Chris Jackson joined me recently and gave me a good suggestion, why don´t you make a complete TPN network including logo and merchandising around it? Thanks to Chris I have a logo now & things will go forward in tagging TPN on free T Shirts and the members of The Teleporter Network.

The start of a new Teleport Network in Sansar

Teleport Center Bayswater London in Sansar The former Teleport Centre in Bayswater London (changed experience: Westminster London)

One of the key features in a virtual world are visitor centres or main hubs to explore the world from a base or further teleporting from your first starting point.

For more than a year there were several plans from early creators & newer Sansarians during this period to start with innovative teleport options,teleport hubs,scripts with even a menu to choose a destination and special experiences. Unfortunately the main reason for not developing further these projects was the status of Sansar itself: We are still in beta!

After several updates, scripts were broken and you have to start all over again in activating the old teleportals in your experience. A positive thing however was: the local & remote teleport scripts belonging to the Sansar Team remained intact.

This was the start for a new plan: Draxtor & Ria from the Experience 114 Harvest decided to bring a new idea to the teleport interactions in Sansar: a freebie´Back to Harvest Sign. They are one of the first teleport centres in Sansar were you can teleport to other destinations by entering the other houses in their neighbourhood.

After my request in the Sansar Community Channel Discord for the need of a return teleport, creators realised that there should be a robust Teleport Network across the whole of Sansar. It is a win-win situation : creators will create more traffic and newcomers will find easier their way into Sansar.

Sir J.M. Barrie & the end of an Era

Will this be the end of it? The legendary “Peter Pan House” is being renovated on a huge scale and will become by the look of it, a new apartment scheme in the Bayswater London area.

With no doubt the new building is taking shape now with a solid plan by The Considerate Constructors Company and will help new residents to start fresh in this very expensive borough of London in the 21st Century.

This 19th Century Grade II listed House was a statement and even a fantasy landmark for famous persons like : Captain Scott of the Antarctic, Lord Kennet, Lawrence of Arabia, John Betjeman, Johnny Depp and many others.

My visits in London meant also walking by the house of Sir J.M. Barrie for years now and inspired me to make a sort of virtual tribute to him. The VR World of Sansar gives me (just in time) the oportunity in building an experience where you can teleport yourself like a time machine into the Victorian interiors where he created Peter Pan & Wendy.

Author of Peter Pan in the World of Sansar

For years when I visit Bayswater in London, I always pass by the House of Sir James Matthew Barrie; The famous author of Peter Pan.

The area was so inspiring for him: Hyde Park just across the street with the Kensington Gardens and the magnificent like eternal Georgian style white buildings surrounding Lancaster Gate and not far from Paddington.

No wonder that Sir Barrie was inspired to write the adventures of Peter Pan & Wendy, there is a certain magic in Bayswater despite of the busy traffic nowadays on Bayswater Road.

Years passed by in seeing not much activity around the house, it looked like deserted but perhaps I was wrong anyway. Untill last year: scaffolding appear around the house and many labourers were working digging under the floor and even in the garden?

It seems that the owners or the new owners got big plans with the Bayswater Road No.100.

I read that during the years they have managed to preserve some of the original 19th century features of the house. For me the building was always a sort of landmark for the area next to the giant estates of The Lancasters.

Soon I will be visiting London again and I am very curious how the building is renovated. Maybe they will enhance the building completely or that some original features may exist along with modern renovation who knows?

It´s a nice oportunity to start myself with a new project within my Westminster London Experience in the VR world of Sansar; The Peter Pan House. This way it will become my tribute to the legendary author of Peter Pan.

I don´t believe it will ever be a sort of museum in RL , so I will make a little museum myself in Sansar.

How sweet having a seat in Sansar! During 2017 untill now in february there are a lot of discussions going on in how we could create a sort of sitting animation.So many barstools,benches walls and chairs and nowhere to sit and enhance our interactivity in the scene or experience.

At Galen´s Hoverpark I have noticed an interesting one bended knee while hovering across the experience and took a snapshot right away.

Another trick would be using an invisible cube and place it at a certain angle near a barstool,bench or chair. With the famous blue laser positioning for your avatar (Shift + Left Click Mouse) you could try to sit, however just with slightly bending knees, but it is a start!

The best way in the end is of course using the real thing the sitting animation. With my transparency in what I am doing in Sansar, I hope that it will give other creators/developers some ideas about this.

The realism quality in Sansar is really inviting for creators to push themselves to the limits.
