Song Lyric Sunday 15th February

Jim Adams is our host and this week the theme is to find a song that that gets stuck in your head.
It is not unusual for me to wake up with a song in my head for no apparent reason.
I rarely listen to the radio or any of my CDs now, so I guess it’s the music of my dreams.
The supervisor at my last works had a thing about Murder on the Dance Floor by Sophie Ellis Baxter. It drove me nuts as she only knew a few words

Dear Diary: More snow

It was snowing in the early hours when Hubby got up to let Maya out.  She was not impressed, but did the business and went back to bed.
We all slept in for a bit, and when I drew back the bedroom curtains, the expected white view was not apparent, so Hubby was able to take her for a walk around 10.

I’ve been lazy, not bothering to get dressed before breakfast which was late.
I then had a much needed shower, washed my hair  and felt so much better.
Hubby checked my heel and it’s looking good, a nice clean wound, no inflammation, and it’s sealed itself. One more day of rest and I shall be able to revert back to normal with driving and walking the dog.
Hard to believe this picture was taken in September 2022 before she was a year old.

When Temper bites back

We had a pretty productive day yesterday with our DIY, leaving just the woodwork to paint today.
Both of us were tired so opted for an early night.
Maya got me up at 5.15, which is not unusual so I got my slippers and grabbed a coat to let her out.
I couldn’t find the door keys. Hubby was stirring, but I told him to go back to bed, confident I would find them where they should be, in front of the microwave.

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS Feb. 14, 2026

Linda Hill is our host and you can join in HERE.

Here’s this week’s prompt:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “love.”

It’s Valentine’s Day and Love is in the air.
For many it means hearts, flowers, romantic meals/evenings, cosy snugglings and enjoying each other’s company.
It doesn’t matter your age, we are all entitled to love and be loved.
Young love is exciting, a bit daunting and scary, but can blossom into everlasting companionship, the mellowing of passion into the hidden depths and appreciation of desire.
No need to hurry, time to enjoy and savour each other, the merging of two lives into one.

Doggy Dentistry

Cleaning a dog’s teeth was something that took a back seat, concentrating more or coat grooming and nail clipping.
Maggie needed her teeth cleaned and it was a vet job. In short, we couldn’t afford £200 but it wasn’t as if she was in pain, just more of a veterinary observation. The next time it was mentioned,  the price was almost double.

By chance, we saw an advert for a vet some distance away promoting doggy dental health and they had a special on for £80. We changed vets, and they were brilliant. The deal was that if extractions were needed, the first two would be included, then you paid extra. However, they examined Maggie first so that there would be no surprises.
