PSALMS: 28

1 To you, LORD, I call.
My rock, don’t be deaf to me;
Lest, if you are silent to me,
I would become like those who go down into the pit.
2 Hear the voice of my petitions, when I cry to you,
When I lift up my hands toward your Most Holy Place. 
3 Don’t draw me away with the wicked,
With the workers of iniquity who speak shalom with their neighbors,
But mischief is in their hearts. 
4 Give them according to their work,
and according to the wickedness of their doings.
Give them according to the operation of their hands.
Bring back on them what they deserve. 
5 Because they don’t regard the works of the LORD,
Nor the operation of his hands,
He will break them down and not build them up. 
6 Blessed be the LORD,
Because he has heard the voice of my petitions. 
7  The LORD is my strength and my shield.
My heart has trusted in him, and I am helped.
Therefore my heart greatly rejoices.
With my song I will thank him. 
8 The LORD is their strength.
He is a stronghold of salvation to his anointed. 
9 Save your people, and bless your inheritance.
Be their shepherd also, and bear them up forever.

PSALMS: 58

1 Do you indeed speak righteousness, silent ones?
Do you judge blamelessly, you sons of men? 
2 No, in your heart you plot injustice.
You measure out the violence of your hands in the eretz. 
3 The wicked go astray from the womb.
They are wayward as soon as they are born, speaking lies. 
4 Their poison is like the poison of a snake;
Like a deaf cobra that stops its ear, 
5 Which doesn’t listen to the voice of charmers,
No matter how skillful the charmer may be. 
6Break their teeth, God, in their mouth.
Break out the great teeth of the young lions, LORD. 
7 Let them vanish as water that flows away.
When they draw the bow, let their arrows be made blunt. 
8 Let them be as a snail which melts and passes away,
Like the stillborn child, who has not seen the sun. 
9 Before your pots can feel the thorns,
He will sweep away, the green and the burning alike. 
10 The righteous shall rejoice when he sees the vengeance.
He shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked; 
11 So that men shall say, “Most assuredly there is a reward for the righteous.
Most assuredly there is a God who judges the eretz.”

PSALMS: 88

1 LORD, the God of my salvation,
I have cried day and night before you. 
2 Let my prayer enter into your presence.
Turn your ear to my cry. 
3 For my soul is full of troubles.
My life draws near to She’ol. 
4 I am counted among those who go down into the pit.
I am like a man who has no help, 
5 Set apart among the dead,
Like the slain who lie in the grave,
Whom you remember no more.
They are cut off from your hand. 
6 You have laid me in the lowest pit,
In the darkest depths. 
7  Your wrath lies heavily on me.
You have afflicted me with all your waves.
Selah. 
8 You have taken my friends from me.
You have made me an abomination to them.
I am confined, and I can’t escape. 
9 My eyes are dim from grief.
I have called on you daily, LORD.
I have spread out my hands to you. 
10 Do you show wonders to the dead?
Do the dead rise up and praise you? Selah.
11 Is your loving kindness declared in the grave?
Or your faithfulness in Destruction? 
12 Are your wonders made known in the dark?
Or your righteousness in the land of forgetfulness? 
13 But to you, LORD, I have cried.
In the morning, my prayer comes before you. 
14 LORD, why do you reject my soul?
Why do you hide your face from me? 
15 I am afflicted and ready to die from my youth up.
While I suffer your terrors, I am distracted. 
16 Your fierce wrath has gone over me.
Your terrors have cut me off. 
17 They came around me like water all day long.
They completely engulfed me. 
18 You have put lover and friend far from me,
And my friends into darkness.

PSALMS: 148

1 Praise the LORD!
Praise the LORD from the heavens!
Praise him in the heights! 
2 Praise him, all his angels!
Praise him, all his host!
3 Praise him, sun and moon!
Praise him, all you shining stars! 
4 Praise him, you heavens of heavens,
You waters that are above the heavens. 
5 Let them praise the name of the LORD, ‘
For he commanded, and they were created. 
6 He has also established them forever and ever.
He has made a decree which will not pass away. 
7 Praise the LORD from the eretz,
You great sea creatures, and all depths! 
8 Lightning and hail, snow and clouds;
Stormy wind, fulfilling his word; 
9 Mountains and all hills;
Fruit trees and all cedars; 
10 Wild animals and all cattle;
Small creatures and flying birds; 
11 Kings of the eretz and all peoples;
Princes and all judges of the eretz; 
12 Both young men and maidens;
Old men and children: 
13 Let them praise the name of the LORD,
For his name alone is exalted.
His glory is above the eretz and the heavens. 
14 He has lifted up the horn of his people,
The praise of all his holy ones;
Even of the children of Yisra’el, a people near to him.
Praise the LORD!

PROVERBS: 28

1 The wicked flee when no one pursues;
But the righteous are as bold as a lion. 
2 In rebellion, a land has many rulers,
But order is maintained by a man of understanding and knowledge. 
3 A needy man who oppresses the poor
Is like a driving rain which leaves no crops. 
4 Those who forsake the law praise the wicked;
But those who keep the law contend with them. 
5 Evil men don’t understand justice;
But those who seek the LORD understand it fully. 
6 Better is the poor who walks in his integrity,
Than he who is perverse in his ways, and he is rich. 
7 Whoever keeps the law is a wise son;
But he who is a companion of gluttons shames his father. 
8 He who increases his wealth by excessive interest
Gathers it for one who has pity on the poor. 
9 He who turns away his ear from hearing the law,
Even his prayer is an abomination. 
10 Whoever causes the upright to go astray in an evil way,
He will fall into his own trap;
But the blameless will inherit good. 
11 The rich man is wise in his own eyes;
But the poor who has understanding sees through him. 
12 When the righteous triumph, there is great glory;
But when the wicked rise, men hide themselves. 
13 He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper,
But whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy. 
14 Blessed is the man who always fears;
But one who hardens his heart falls into trouble. 
15 As a roaring lion or a charging bear,
So is a wicked ruler over helpless people. 
16 The ruler who lacks judgment is a great tyrant.
One who hates ill-gotten gain will have long days.
17 A man who is tormented by life blood will be a fugitive until death;
No one will support him. 
18 Whoever walks blamelessly is kept safe;
But one with perverse ways will fall suddenly. 
19 One who works his land will have an abundance of food;
But one who chases fantasies will have his fill of poverty. 
20 A faithful man is rich with blessings;
But one who is eager to be rich will not go unpunished.
21 To show partiality is not good;
Yet a man will do wrong for a piece of bread. 
22 A stingy man hurries after riches,
And doesn’t know that poverty waits for him. 
23 One who rebukes a man will afterward find more favor
Than one who flatters with the tongue. 
24 Whoever robs his father or his mother, and says,
“It’s not wrong.”
He is a partner with a destroyer. 
25 One who is greedy stirs up strife;
But one who trusts in the LORD will prosper. 
26 One who trusts in himself is a fool;
But one who walks in wisdom, he is kept safe. 
27 One who gives to the poor has no lack;
But one who closes his eyes will have many curses. 
28 When the wicked rise, men hide themselves;
But when they perish, the righteous thrive.

OLD TESTAMENT: GENESIS 35:1 – 36:43

35:1 God said to Yaakov, "Arise, go up to Beit-El, and live there. Make there an altar to God, who appeared to you when you fled from the face of Esav your brother."

2 Then Yaakov said to his household, and to all who were with him, “Put away the foreign gods that are among you, purify yourselves, change your garments. 3 Let us arise, and go up to Beit-El. I will make there an altar to God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went.” 4 They gave to Yaakov all the foreign gods which were in their hands, and the rings which were in their ears; and Yaakov hid them under the oak which was by Shekhem. 5 They journeyed: and a terror of God was on the cities that were round about them, and they didn’t pursue the sons of Yaakov.

6 So Yaakov came to Luz, which is in the land of Kanaan (the same is Beit-El), he and all the people who were with him.

7 He built an altar there, and called the place El-Beit-El; because there God was revealed to him, when he fled from the face of his brother.

8 Devorah, Rivka's nurse, died, and she was buried below Beit-El under the oak; and the name of it was called Allon-Bakhut.

9 God appeared to Yaakov again, when he came from Paddan-Aram, and blessed him. 10 God said to him, “Your name is Yaakov. Your name shall not be Yaakov any more, but your name will be Yisra’el.” He named him Yisra’el. 11 God said to him, “I am El Shaddai. Be fruitful and multiply. A nation and a company of nations will be from you, and kings will come out of your loins. 12 The land which I gave to Avraham and Yitzchak, I will give it to you, and to your seed after you will I give the land.” 13 God went up from him in the place where he spoke with him. 14 Yaakov set up a pillar in the place where he spoke with him, a pillar of stone. He poured out a drink-offering on it, and poured oil on it.

15 Yaakov called the name of the place where God spoke with him “Beit-El.” 16 They journeyed from Beit-El. There was still some distance to come to Efrat, and Rachel travailed. She had hard labor. 17 It happened that, when she was in hard labor, that the midwife said to her, “Don’t be afraid, for now you will have another son.” 18 It happened, as her soul was departing (for she died), that she named him Ben-oni, but his father named him Binyamin. 19 Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Efrat (the same is Beit-Lechem). 20 Yaakov set up a pillar on her grave. The same is the Pillar of Rachel's grave to this day.

21 bYisra'el journeyed, and spread his tent beyond the tower of Eder. 22 It happened, while Yisra’el lived in that land, that Re’uven went and lay with Bilhah, his father’s concubine, and Yisra’el heard of it. Now the sons of Yaakov were twelve.

23 The sons of Le'ah: Re'uven (Yaakov’s firstborn), Shimon, Levi, Yehudah, Yissakhar, and Zevulun

24 The sons of Rachel: Yosef and Binyamin.

25 The sons of Bilhah (Rachel's handmaid): Dan and Naftali.

26 The sons of Zilpah (Le'ah's handmaid): Gad and Asher. These are the sons of Yaakov, who were born to him in Paddan-Aram. 27 Yaakov came to Yitzchak his father, to Mamre, to Kiryat-Arba (the same is Hevron), where Avraham and Yitzchak sojourned. 28 The days of Yitzchak were one hundred eighty years.

29 Yitzchak gave up the spirit, and died, and was gathered to his people, old and full of days. Esav and Yaakov, his sons, buried him.

36:1 Now this is the history of the generations of Esav (the same is Edom). 2 Esav took his wives from the daughters of Kanaan:Adah the daughter of Elon, the Hittite; and Oholivamah the daughter of Anah, the daughter of Tzivon, the Hivvi; 3 and Basemat, Yishma’el’s daughter, sister of Nevayot.  4 Adah bore to Esav Elifaz. Basemat bore Reu’el. 5 Oholivamah bore Yeush, Yalam, and Korach. These are the sons of Esav, who were born to him in the land of Kanaan.

6 Esav took his wives, his sons, his daughters, and all the members of his household, with his cattle, all his animals, and all his possessions, which he had gathered in the land of Kanaan, and went into a land away from his brother Yaakov.

7 For their substance was too great for them to dwell together, and the land of their travels couldn't bear them because of their cattle.

8 Esav lived in the hill country of Seir. Esav is Edom. 9 This is the history of the generations of Esav the father of the Edom in the hill country of Seir:

10 these are the names of Esav's sons: Elifaz, the son of Adah, the wife of Esav; and Reu'el, the son of Basemat, the wife of Esav.

11 The sons of Elifaz were Teman, Omar, Tzefo, and Gatam, and Kenaz. 12 Timna was concubine to Elifaz, Esav’s son; and she bore to Elifaz Amalek. These are the sons of Adah, Esav’s wife. 13 These are the sons of Reu'el: Nachat, Zerach, Shammah, and Mizzah. These were the sons of Basemat, Esav's wife.

14 These were the sons of Oholivamah, the daughter of Anah, the daughter of Tzivon, Esav's wife: she bore to Esav Yeush, Yalam, and Korach.

15 These are the chiefs of the sons of Esav: the sons of Elifaz the firstborn of Esav: chief Teman, chief Omar, chief Tzefo, chief Kenaz,

16 chief Korach, chief Gatam, chief Amalek: these are the chiefs who came of Elifaz in the land of Edom; these are the sons of Adah. 17 These are the sons of Reu'el, Esav's son: chief Nachat, chief Zerach, chief Shammah, chief Mizzah: these are the chiefs who came of Reu’el in the land of Edom; these are the sons of Basemat, Esav’s wife. 18 These are the sons of Oholivamah, Esav’s wife: chief Yeush, chief Yalam, chief Korach: these are the chiefs who came of Oholivamah the daughter of Anah, Esav's wife. 19 These are the sons of Esav, and these are their chiefs. The same is Edom.

20 These are the sons of Seir the Horite, the inhabitants of the land: Lotan, Shoval, Tzivon,Anah, 21 Dishon, Etzer, and Dishan. These are the chiefs who came of the Hori, the children of Seir in the land of Edom.

22 The children of Lotan were Hori and Heman. Lotan's sister was Timna.

23 These are the children of Shoval: Alvan, Manachat,Eval, Shefo, and Onam. 24 These are the children of Tzivon: Ayah and Anah. This is Anah who found the hot springs in the wilderness, as he fed the donkeys of Tzivon his father. 25 These are the children of Anah: Dishon and Oholivamah, the daughter of Anah. 26 These are the children of Dishon: Hemdan, Eshban, Yitran, and Keran. 27  These are the children of Etzer: Bilhan, Zaavan, and Akan. 28 These are the children of Dishan: Utz and Aran.

29 These are the chiefs who came of the Hori: chief Lotan, chief Shoval, chief Tzivon, chief Anah,

30 chief Dishon, chief Etzer, and chief Dishan: these are the chiefs who came of the Hori, according to their chiefs in the land of Seir. 31 These are the kings who reigned in the land of Edom, before any king reigned over the children of Yisra’el. 32 Bela, the son of Be’or, reigned in Edom. The name of his city was Dinhava. 33 Bela died, and Yovav, the son of Zerach of Botzrah, reigned in his place. 34 Yovav died, and Husham of the land of the Temani reigned in his place. 35 Husham died, and Hadad, the son of Bedad, who struck Midyan in the field of Mo’av, reigned in his place. The name of his city was Avit.

36 Hadad died, and Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his place. 37 Samlah died, and Sha'ul of Rechovot by the river, reigned in his place.

38 Sha'ul died, and Baal-Hanan, the son of Akhbor reigned in his place.

39 Baal-Hanan the son of Akhbor died, and Hadar reigned in his place. The name of his city was Pau. His wife's name was Mehetav'el, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Me-Zahav.

40 These are the names of the chiefs who came from Esav, according to their families, after their places, and by their names: chief Timna, chief Alvah, chief Yetet, 41 chief Oholivamah, chief Elah, chief Pinon, 42 chief Kenaz, chief Teman, chief Mivtzar, 43 chief Magdi’el, and chief `Iram. These are the chiefs of Edom, according to their habitations in the land of their possession. This is Esav, the father of the Edom.

NEW TESTAMENT: MATTHEW 12:1 – 21

12:1 At that time, Yeshua went on the day of Shabbat through the grain fields. His talmidim were hungry and began to pluck heads of grain and to eat. 
2 But the Perushim, when they saw it, said to him, “Behold, your talmidim do what is not lawful to do on the Shabbat.”
3 But he said to them, “Haven’t you read what David did, when he was hungry, and those who were with him; 
4 how he entered into the house of God, and ate the show bread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for those who were with him, but only for the Kohanim? 
5 Or have you not read in the law, that on the day of Shabbat, the Kohanim in the temple profane the Shabbat, and are guiltless? 
6 But I tell you that one greater than the temple is here.
7 But if you had known what this means, ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the guiltless. 
8 For the Son of Man is Lord of the Shabbat.” 
9 He departed there, and went into their synagogue. 
10 And behold there was a man with a withered hand. They asked him, “Is it lawful to heal on the day of Shabbat?” that they might accuse him. 
11 He said to them, “What man is there among you, who has one sheep, and if this one falls into a pit on the day of Shabbat, won’t he grab on to it, and lift it out? 
12 How much, then, is a man of more value than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the day of Shabbat.” 
13 Then he told the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out; and it was restored whole, just like the other. 
14 But the Perushim went out, and took counsel against him, how they might destroy him. 
15 Yeshua, perceiving that, withdrew from there. Great multitudes followed him; and he healed them all, 
16 and charged them that they should not make him known: 
17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Yesha`yahu the prophet, saying, 
18 “Behold, my servant whom I have chosen; My beloved in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my Spirit on him. He will declare judgment to the Goyim. 
19 He will not strive, nor shout; Neither will anyone hear his voice in the streets.
20 He won’t break a bruised reed. He won’t quench a smoking flax, Until he sends forth judgment to victory. 
21 In his name, the Goyim will hope.”

PSALMS: 25

1 To you, LORD, do I lift up my soul. 
2 My God, in you have I trusted,
Let me not be put to shame.
Don’t let my enemies triumph over me. 
3 Yes, no one who waits for you shall be put to shame.
They shall be put to shame who deal treacherously without cause. 
4 Show me your ways, LORD.
Teach me your paths. 
5 Guide me in your truth, and teach me,
For you are the God of my salvation,
I wait for you all day long. 
6 LORD, remember your tender mercies and your loving kindness,
For they are from old times. 
7 Don’t remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions.
Remember me according to your loving kindness,
For your goodness’ sake, LORD. 
8 Good and upright is the LORD,
Therefore he will instruct sinners in the way.
9 He will guide the humble in justice.
He will teach the humble his way. 
10 All the paths of the LORD are loving kindness and truth
To such as keep his covenant and his testimonies. 
11 For your name’s sake, LORD,
Pardon my iniquity, for it is great. 
12 What man is he who fears the LORD?
He shall instruct him in the way that he shall choose. 
13 His soul shall dwell at ease.
His seed shall inherit the land. 
14 The friendship of the LORD is with those who fear him.
He will show them his covenant. 
15 My eyes are ever on the LORD,
For he will pluck my feet out of the net. 
16 Turn to me, and have mercy on me,
For I am desolate and afflicted. 
17  The troubles of my heart are enlarged.
Oh bring me out of my distresses. 
18 Consider my affliction and my travail.
Forgive all my sins. 
19 Consider my enemies, for they are many.
They hate me with cruel hatred. 
20 Oh keep my soul, and deliver me.
Let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in you. 
21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me,
For I wait for you. 
22 Redeem Yisra’el, God,
Out all of his troubles.

PSALMS: 55

1 Listen to my prayer, God.
Don’t hide yourself from my supplication. 
2 Attend to me, and answer me.
I am restless in my complaint, and moan, 
3 Because of the voice of the enemy,
Because of the oppression of the wicked.
For they bring suffering on me.
In anger they hold a grudge against me. 
4 My heart is severely pained within me.
The terrors of death have fallen on me. 
5 Fearfulness and trembling have come on me.
Horror has overwhelmed me. 
6 I said, “Oh that I had wings like a dove!
Then I would fly away, and be at rest. 
7 Behold, then I would wander far off.
I would lodge in the wilderness.”
Selah. 
8 “I would hurry to a shelter from the stormy wind and tempest.” 
9 Confuse them, Lord, and confound their language,
For I have seen violence and strife in the city. 
10 Day and night they prowl around on its walls.
Malice and abuse are also within her. 
11 Destructive forces are within her.
Threats and lies don’t depart from her streets. 
12 For it was not an enemy who insulted me,
Then I could have endured it.
Neither was it he who hated me who raised himself up against me,
Then I would have hid myself from him. 
13 But it was you, a man like me,
My companion, and my familiar friend. 
14 We took sweet fellowship together.
We walked in God’s house with the throng. 
15 Let death come suddenly on them.
Let them go down alive into She’ol.
For wickedness is in their dwelling, in the midst of them. 
16 As for me, I will call on God.
The LORD will save me. 
17 Evening, morning, and at noon, I will cry out in distress.
He will hear my voice. 
18 He has redeemed my soul in shalom from the battle that was against me,
Although there are many who oppose me. 
19 God, who is enthroned forever,
Will hear, and answer them.
Selah.
They never change,
Who don’t fear God. 
20 He raises his hands against his friends.
He has violated his covenant. 
21 His mouth was smooth as butter,
But his heart was war.
His words were softer than oil,
Yet they were drawn swords. 
22 Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you.
He will never allow the righteous to be moved. 
23 But you, God, will bring them down into the pit of destruction.
Bloodthirsty and deceitful men shall not live out half their days,
But I will trust in you.

PSALMS: 85

1 LORD, you have been favorable to your land.
You have restored the fortunes of Ya`akov. 
2 You have forgiven the iniquity of your people.
You have covered all their sin.
Selah. 
3 You have taken away all your wrath.
You have turned from the fierceness of your anger. 
4 Turn us, God of our salvation,
And cause your indignation toward us to cease. 
5 Will you be angry with us forever?
Will you draw out your anger to all generations? 
6 Won’t you revive us again,
That your people may rejoice in you? 
7 Show us your loving kindness, LORD.
Grant us your salvation. 
8 I will hear what God, the LORD, will speak,
For he will speak shalom to his people, his holy ones;
But let them not turn again to folly. 
9 Surely his salvation is near those who fear him,
That glory may dwell in our land.
10 Mercy and truth meet together.
Righteousness and shalom have kissed each other. 
11 Truth springs out of the eretz.
Righteousness has looked down from heaven. 
12 Yes, the LORD will give that which is good.
Our land will yield its increase. 
13 Righteousness goes before him,
And prepares the way for his steps.

PSALMS: 115

1 Not to us, LORD, not to us,
But to your name give glory,
For your loving kindness, and for your truth’s sake. 
2 Why should the nations say,
“Where is their God, now?” 
3 But our God is in the heavens.
He does whatever he pleases. 
4 Their idols are silver and gold,
The work of men’s hands. 
5 They have mouths, but they don’t speak;
They have eyes, but they don’t see; 
6 They have ears, but they don’t hear;
They have noses, but they don’t smell; 
7  They have hands, but they don’t feel;
They have feet, but they don’t walk;
Neither do they speak through their throat. 
8 Those who make them will be like them;
Yes, everyone who trusts in them. 
9 Yisra’el, trust in the LORD!
He is their help and their shield. 
10 House of Aharon, trust in the LORD!
He is their help and their shield. 
11 You who fear the LORD, trust in the LORD!
He is their help and their shield. 
12 The LORD remembers us.
He will bless us. 4
He will bless the house of Yisra’el.
He will bless the house of Aharon. 
13 He will bless those who fear the LORD,
Both small and great. 
14 May the LORD increase you more and more,
You and your children. 
15 Blessed are you by the LORD,
Who made heaven and eretz. 
16 The heavens are the heavens of the LORD;
But the eretz has he given to the children of men. 
17  The dead don’t praise the LORD,
Neither any who go down into silence; 
18 But we will bless the LORD,
From this time forth and forevermore.

PSALMS: 145

1 I will exalt you, my God, the King.
I will praise your name forever and ever. 
2 Every day I will praise you.
I will extol your name forever and ever. 
3 Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised!
His greatness is unsearchable. 
4 One generation will commend your works to another,
And will declare your mighty acts. 
5 Of the glorious majesty of your honor,
Of your wondrous works, I will meditate. 
6 Men will speak of the might of your awesome acts.
I will declare your greatness. 
7 They will utter the memory of your great goodness,
And will sing of your righteousness. 
8 The LORD is gracious, merciful,
Slow to anger, and of great loving kindness. 
9 The LORD is good to all.
His tender mercies are over all his works.
10 All your works will give thanks to you, LORD.
Your holy ones will extol you. 
11 They will speak of the glory of your kingdom,
And talk about your power; 
12 To make known to the sons of men his mighty acts,
The glory of the majesty of his kingdom. 
13 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom.
Your dominion endures throughout all generations. 
14 The LORD upholds all who fall,
And raises up all those who are bowed down. 
15 The eyes of all wait for you.
You give them their food in due season. 
16 You open your hand,
And satisfy the desire of every living thing. 
17  The LORD is righteous in all his ways,
And gracious in all his works. 
18 The LORD is near to all those who call on him,
To all who call on him in truth. 
19 He will fulfill the desire of those who fear him.
He also will hear their cry, and will save them. 
20 The LORD preserves all those who love him,
But all the wicked he will destroy. 
21 My mouth will speak the praise of the LORD.
Let all flesh bless his holy name forever and ever.

PROVERBS: 25

1 These also are proverbs of Shlomo,
which the men of Hizkiyahu king of Yehudah copied out. 
2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing,
But the glory of kings is to search out a matter. 
3 As the heavens for height, and the eretz for depth,
So the hearts of kings are unsearchable. 
4 Take away the dross from the silver,
And material comes out for the refiner; 
5 Take away the wicked from the king’s presence,
And his throne will be established in righteousness. 
6 Don’t exalt yourself in the presence of the king,
Or claim a place among great men; 
7 For it is better that it be said to you, “Come up here,
” Than that you should be put lower in the presence of the prince,
Whom your eyes have seen. 
8 Don’t be hasty in bringing charges to court.
What will you do in the end when your neighbor shames you? 
9 Debate your case with your neighbor,
And don’t betray the confidence of another; 
10 Lest one who hears it put you to shame,
And your bad reputation never depart. 
11 A word fitly spoken Is like apples of gold in settings of silver. 
12 As an ear-ring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold,
So is a wise reprover to an obedient ear. 
13 As the cold of snow in the time of harvest,
So is a faithful messenger to those who send him;
For he refreshes the soul of his masters. 
14 As clouds and wind without rain,
So is he who boasts of gifts deceptively. 
15 By patience a ruler is persuaded.
A soft tongue breaks the bone. 
16 Have you found honey?
Eat as much as is sufficient for you,
Lest you eat too much, and vomit it. 
17 Let your foot be seldom in your neighbor’s house,
Lest he be weary of you, and hate you. 
18 A man who gives false testimony against his neighbor
Is like a club, a sword, or a sharp arrow. 
19 Confidence in someone unfaithful in time of trouble
Is like a bad tooth, or a lame foot. 
20 As one who takes away a garment in cold weather,
Or vinegar on soda, So is one who sings songs to a heavy heart. 
21 If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat;
If he is thirsty, give him water to drink: 
22 For you will heap coals of fire on his head,
And the LORD will reward you. 
23 The north wind brings forth rain:
So a backbiting tongue brings an angry face. 
24 It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop,
Than to share a house with a contentious woman. 
25 Like cold water to a thirsty soul,
So is good news from a far country. 
26 Like a muddied spring, and a polluted well,
So is a righteous man who gives way before the wicked. 
27 It is not good to eat much honey;
Nor is it honorable to seek ones own honor. 
28 Like a city that is broken down and without walls
Is a man whose spirit is without restraint.

OLD TESTAMENT: GENESIS 30:1 – 31:16

30:1 When Rachel saw that she bore Yaakov no children, Rachel envied her sister. She said to Yaakov, “Give me children, or else I will die.” 2 Yaakov's anger was kindled against Rachel, and he said, "Am I in God's place, who has withheld from you the fruit of the womb?"

3 She said, "Behold, my maid Bilhah. Go in to her, that she may bear on my knees, and I also may obtain children by her."

4 She gave him Bilhah her handmaid as wife, and Yaakov went in to her. 5 Bilhah conceived, and bore Yaakov a son.

6 Rachel said, "God has judged me, and has also heard my voice, and has given me a son." Therefore called she his name Dan.

7 Bilhah, Rachel's handmaid, conceived again, and bore Yaakov a second son. 8 Rachel said, “With mighty wrestlings have I wrestled with my sister, and have prevailed.” She named him Naftali. 9 When Le’ah saw that she had finished bearing, she took Zilpah, her handmaid, and gave her to Yaakov as a wife.

10 Zilpah, Le'ah's handmaid, bore Yaakov a son. 11 Le’ah said, “How fortunate!” She named him Gad. 12 Zilpah, Le’ah’s handmaid, bore Yaakov a second son. 13 Le'ah said, "Happy am I, for the daughters will call me happy." She named him Asher.

14 Re'uven went in the days of wheat harvest, and found dudaim in the field, and brought them to his mother, Le'ah. Then Rachel said to Le'ah, "Please give me some of your son's dudaim."

15 She said to her, "Is it a small matter that you have taken away my husband? Would you take away my son's dudaim, also?" Rachel said, "Therefore he will lie with you tonight for your son's dudaim."

16 Yaakov came from the field in the evening, and Le’ah went out to meet him, and said, “You must come in to me; for I have surely hired you with my son’s dudaim.” He lay with her that night. 17 God listened to Le’ah, and she conceived, and bore Yaakov a fifth son.

18 Le'ah said, "God has given me my hire, because I gave my handmaid to my husband." She named him Yissakhar.

19 Le'ah conceived again, and bore a sixth son to Yaakov. 20 Le’ah said, “God has endowed me with a good dowry. Now my husband will live with me, because I have borne him six sons.” She named him Zevulun. 21 Afterwards, she bore a daughter, and named her Dinah. 22 God remembered Rachel, and God listened to her, and opened her womb. 23 She conceived, bore a son, and said, “God has taken away my reproach. 24 She named him Yosef, saying, “May the LORD add another son to me.” 25 It happened, when Rachel had borne Yosef, that Yaakov said to Lavan, "Send me away, that I may go to my own place, and to my country.

26 Give me my wives and my children for whom I have served you, and let me go: for you know my service with which I have served you."

27 Lavan said to him, "If now I have found favor in your eyes, stay here, for I have divined that the LORD has blessed me for your sake." 28 He said, "Appoint me your wages, and I will give it." 29 He said to him, "You know how I have served you, and how your cattle have fared with me. 30 For it was little which you had before I came, and it has increased to a multitude. The LORD has blessed you wherever I turned. Now when will I provide for my own house also?" 31 He said, "What shall I give you?" Yaakov said, “You shall not give me anything. If you will do this thing for me, I will again feed your flock and keep it. 32 I will pass through all your flock today, removing from there every speckled and spotted one, and every black one among the sheep, and the spotted and speckled among the goats. This will be my hire. 33 So my righteousness will answer for me hereafter, when you come concerning my hire that is before you. Everyone that is not speckled and spotted among the goats, and black among the sheep, that might be with me, will be counted stolen.” 34 Lavan said, “Behold, I desire it to be according to your word.” 35 That day, he removed the male goats that were streaked and spotted, and all the female goats that were speckled and spotted, every one that had white in it, and all the black ones among the sheep, and gave them into the hand of his sons. 36 He set three days’ journey between himself and Yaakov, and Yaakov fed the rest of Lavan’s flocks. 37 Yaakov took to himself rods of fresh poplar, almond, plane tree, peeled white streaks in them, and made the white appear which was in the rods.

38 He set the rods which he had peeled opposite the flocks in the gutters in the watering-troughs where the flocks came to drink. They conceived when they came to drink.

9 The flocks conceived before the rods, and the flocks brought forth streaked, speckled, and spotted.

40 Yaakov separated the lambs, and set the faces of the flocks toward the streaked and all the black in the flock of Lavan: and he put his own droves apart, and didn’t put them into Lavan’s flock. 41 It happened, whenever the stronger of the flock conceived, that Yaakov laid the rods before the eyes of the flock in the gutters, that they might conceive among the rods;

42 but when the flock were feeble, he didn't put them in. So the feebler were Lavan's, and the stronger Yaakov’s. 43 The man increased exceedingly, and had large flocks, maid-servants and men-servants, and camels and donkeys.

31:1 He heard the words of Lavan’s sons, saying, “Yaakov has taken away all that was our father's. From that which was our father's, has he gotten all this wealth."

2 Yaakov saw the expression on Lavan’s face, and, behold, it was not toward him as before. 3 The LORD said to Yaakov, "Return to the land of your fathers, and to your relatives, and I will be with you."

4 Yaakov sent and called Rachel and Le’ah to the field to his flock, 5 and said to them, “I see the expression on your father’s face, that it is not toward me as before; but the God of my father has been with me. 6 You know that I have served your father with all of my strength. 7 Your father has deceived me, and changed my wages ten times, but God didn’t allow him to hurt me. 8 If he said this, ‘The speckled will be your wages,’ then all the flock bore speckled. If he said this, ‘The streaked will be your wages,’ then all the flock bore streaked. 9 Thus God has taken away the cattle of your father, and given them to me. 10 It happened at the time that the flock conceive, that I lifted up my eyes, and saw in a dream, and behold, the male goats which leaped on the flock were streaked, speckled, and grizzled. 11 The angel of God said to me in the dream, ‘Ya`akov,’ and I said, ‘Here I am.’ 12 He said, ‘Now lift up your eyes, and behold, all the male goats which leap on the flock are streaked, speckled, and grizzled, for I have seen all that Lavan does to you. 13 I am the God of Beit-El, where you anointed a pillar, where you vowed a vow to me. Now arise, get out from this land, and return to the land of your birth.” 14 Rachel and Le’ah answered him, “Is there yet any portion or inheritance for us in our father’s house? 15 Aren’t we accounted by him as foreigners? For he has sold us, and has also quite devoured our money. 16 For all the riches which God has taken away from our father, that is ours and our children’s. Now then, whatever God has said to you, do.”

NEW TESTAMENT: MATTHEW 10:1 – 23

1 He called to himself his twelve talmidim, and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every sickness. 
2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these. The first, Shimon, who is called Kefa; Andrai, his brother; Yaakov the son of Zavdai; Yochanan, his brother; 
3 Pilipos; Bar-Talmai; T’oma; Mattityahu, the tax collector; Yaakov the son of Halfai; and Lebbai, whose surname was Taddi;

4 Shimon the Kanaani; and Yehudah from K'riot, who also betrayed him.

5 Yeshua sent these twelve forth, and charged them, saying, "Don't go among the Goyim, and don't enter into any city of the Shomroni.

6 Rather, go to the lost sheep of the house of Yisra'el.

7 As you go, preach, saying, 'The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!'

8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, and cast out demons. Freely you received, so freely give.

9 Don't take any gold, nor silver, nor brass in your money belts.

10 Take no bag for your journey, neither two coats, nor shoes, nor staff: for the laborer is worthy of his food.

11 Into whatever city or village you enter, find out who in it is worthy; and stay there until you go on.

12 As you enter into the household, greet it.

13 f the household is worthy, let your shalom come on it, but if it isn't worthy, let your shalom return to you.

14 Whoever doesn't receive you, nor hear your words, as you go forth out of that house or that city, shake off the dust from your feet.

15 Most assuredly I tell you, It will be more tolerable for the land of Sedom and Amorah in the day of judgment than for that city. 
16 “Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. 
17 But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to councils, and in their synagogues they will scourge you. 
18 Yes, and you will be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the Goyim. 
19 But when they deliver you up, don’t be anxious how or what you will say, for it will be given you in that hour what you will say. 
20 For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you. 
21 “Brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father his child. Children will rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death. 
22 You will be hated by all men for my name’s sake, but he who endures to the end, the same will be saved.
23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee into the next, for most assuredly I tell you, you will not have gone through the cities of Yisra’el, until the Son of Man has come.

1 The king rejoices in your strength, LORD!
How greatly he rejoices in your yeshuah!

2 You have given him his heart's desire, And have not withheld the request of his lips. Selah.

3 For you meet him with the blessings of goodness; You set a crown of fine gold on his head.

4 He asked life of you, you gave it to him, Even length of days forever and ever.

5 His glory is great in your salvation. You lay honor and majesty on him.

6 For you make him most blessed forever. You make him glad with joy in your presence.

7 For the king trusts in the LORD. Through the loving kindness of HaElyon,
he shall not be moved. 
8 Your hand will find out all of your enemies.
Your right hand will find out those who hate you. 
9 You will make them as a fiery furnace in the time of your anger.
The LORD will swallow them up in his wrath.
The fire shall devour them. 
10 You will destroy their descendants from the eretz,
Their posterity from among the children of men. 
11 For they intended evil against you.

PSALMS: 51

1 Have mercy on me, God, according to your loving kindness.
According to the multitude of your tender mercies, blot out my transgressions. 
2 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity.
Cleanse me from my sin. 
3 For I know my transgressions.
My sin is constantly before me. 
4 Against you, and you only, have I sinned,
And done that which is evil in your sight;
That you may be proved right when you speak,
And justified when you judge. 
5 Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity.

16 For you don’t delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it.
You have no pleasure in burnt offering. 
17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit.
A broken and contrite heart,
O God, you will not despise. 
18 Do well in your good pleasure to Tziyon.
Build the walls of Yerushalayim. 
19 Then will you delight in the sacrifices of righteousness,
In burnt offerings and in whole burnt offerings.
Then they will offer bulls on your altar.

PSALMS: 81

1 Sing aloud to God, our strength!
Make a joyful noise to the God of Yaakov!

2 Raise a song, and bring here the tambourine, The pleasant lyre with the harp.

3 Blow the shofar at the New Moon, At the full moon, on our feast day.

4 For it is a statute for Yisra'el, An ordinance of the God of Yaakov. 
5 He appointed it in Yosef for a testimony,
When he went out over the land of Mitzrayim,
I heard a language that I didn’t know. 
6 “I removed his shoulder from the burden.
His hands were freed from the basket. 
7 You called in trouble, and I delivered you.
I answered you in the secret place of thunder.
I tested you at the waters of Merivah.”
Selah. 
8 “Hear, my people, and I will testify to you.
Yisra’el, if you would listen to me! 
9 There shall be no strange god in you,
Neither shall you worship any foreign god. 
10 I am the LORD, your God,
Who brought you up out of the land of Mitzrayim.
Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it. 
11 But my people didn’t listen to my voice.
Yisra’el desired none of me.
12 So I let them go after the stubbornness of their hearts,
That they might walk in their own counsels. 
13 Oh that my people would listen to me,
That Yisra’el would walk in my ways! 
14 I would soon subdue their enemies,
And turn my hand against their adversaries. 
15 The haters of the LORD would cringe before him,
And their punishment would last forever. 
16 But he would have also fed them with the finest of the wheat.
I will satisfy you with honey out of the rock.”

PSALMS: 111

1 Praise the LORD!
I will give thanks to the LORD with my whole heart,
In the council of the upright, and in the congregation. 
2 The works of the LORD are great,
Pondered by all those who delight in them. 
3 His work is honor and majesty.
His righteousness endures forever. 
4 He has caused his wonderful works to be remembered.
The LORD is gracious and merciful. 
5 He has given food to those who fear him.
He always remembers his covenant. 
6 He has shown his people the power of his works,
In giving them the heritage of the nations. 
7 The works of his hands are truth and justice.
All his precepts are sure. 
8 They are established forever and ever.
They are done in truth and uprightness. 
9 He has sent redemption to his people.
He has ordained his covenant forever.
His name is holy and awesome! 
10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom.
All those who do his work have a good understanding.
His praise endures forever!

PSALMS: 141

1 LORD, I have called on you. Come to me quickly!
Listen to my voice when I call to you. 
2 Let my prayer be set before you like incense; ‘
The lifting up of my hands like the evening sacrifice. 
3 Set a watch, LORD, before my mouth.
Keep the door of my lips. 
4 Don’t incline my heart to any evil thing, ‘
To practice deeds of wickedness with men who work iniquity.
Don’t let me eat of their delicacies. 
5 Let the righteous strike me, it is kindness;
Let him reprove me, it is like oil on the head;
Don’t let my head refuse it;
Yet my prayer is always against evil deeds. 
6 Their judges are thrown down by the sides of the rock.
They will hear my words, for they are well spoken. 
7 “As when one plows and breaks up the eretz,
Our bones are scattered at the mouth of She’ol.” 
8 For my eyes are on you, LORD, the Lord.
In you, I take refuge. Don’t leave my soul destitute. 
9 Keep me from the snare which they have laid for me,
From the traps of the workers of iniquity. 
10 Let the wicked fall together into their own nets,
While I pass by.

PROVERBS: 21

1 The king’s heart is in the LORD’s hand like the watercourses.
He turns it wherever he desires. 
2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes,
But the LORD weighs the hearts. 
3 To do righteousness and justice
Is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice. 
4 A high look, and a proud heart,
The lamp of the wicked, is sin. 
5 The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit;
And everyone who is hasty surely rushes to poverty. 
6 Getting treasures by a lying tongue
Is a fleeting vapor for those who seek death. 
7 The violence of the wicked will drive them away,
Because they refuse to do what is right. 
8 The way of the guilty is devious,
But the conduct of the innocent is upright. 
9 It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop,
Than to share a house with a contentious woman. 
10 The soul of the wicked desires evil;
His neighbor finds no mercy in his eyes. 
11 When the mocker is punished, the simple gains wisdom;
When the wise is instructed, he receives knowledge. 
12 The Righteous One considers the house of the wicked,
And brings the wicked to ruin. 
13 Whoever stops his ears at the cry of the poor,
He will also cry out, but shall not be heard.
14 A gift in secret pacifies anger;
And a bribe in the cloak, strong wrath. 
15 It is joy to the righteous to do justice;
But it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity. 
16 The man who wanders out of the way of understanding
Shall rest in the assembly of the dead. 
17  He who loves pleasure shall be a poor man:
He who loves wine and oil shall not be rich. 
18 The wicked is a ransom for the righteous;
The treacherous for the upright. 
19 It is better to dwell in a desert land,
Than with a contentious and fretful woman. 
20 There is precious treasure and oil in the dwelling of the wise;
But a foolish man swallows it up. 
21 He who follows after righteousness and kindness
Finds life, righteousness, and honor. 
22 A wise man scales the city of the mighty,
And brings down the strength of its confidence. 
23Whoever guards his mouth and his tongue
Keeps his soul from troubles. 
24 The proud and haughty man, “scoffer” is his name;
He works in the arrogance of pride. 
25 The desire of the sluggard kills him,
For his hands refuse to labor. 
26 There are those who covet greedily all the day long;
But the righteous gives and doesn’t withhold.
27 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination:
How much more, when he brings it with a wicked mind! 
28 A false witness will perish,
And a man who listens speaks to eternity. 
29 A wicked man hardens his face;
But as for the upright, he establishes his ways. 
30 There is no wisdom nor understanding
Nor counsel against the LORD. 
31 The horse is prepared for the day of battle;
But victory is with the LORD.

OLD TESTAMENT: GENESIS 23:1 – 24:51

23:1 Sarah lived one hundred twenty-seven years. These were the years of Sarah’s life. 2 Sarah died in Kiryat-Arba (the same is Hevron), in the land of Kanaan. Avraham came to mourn for Sarah, and to weep for her.

3 Avraham rose up from before his dead, and spoke to the children of Het, saying,

4 "I am a stranger and a sojourner with you. Give me a possession of a burying-place with you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight.

5 The children of Het answered Avraham, saying to him,

6 "Hear us, my lord. You are a prince of God among us. In the choice of our tombs bury your dead. None of us will withhold from you his tomb, but that you may bury your dead.

7 Avraham rose up, and bowed himself to the people of the land, even to the children of Het. 8 He talked with them, saying, "If it be your mind that I should bury my dead out of my sight, hear me, and entreat for me to Efron the son of Tzochar, 9 that he may give me the cave of Makhpelah, which he has, which is in the end of his field. For the full price let him give it to me in the midst of you for a possession of a burying-place.” 10 Now Efron was sitting in the midst of the children of Het. Efron the Hittite answered Avraham in the hearing of the children of Het, even of all who went in at the gate of his city, saying, 11 “No, my lord, hear me. I give you the field, and I give you the cave that is in it. In the presence of the children of my people I give it to you. Bury your dead.” 12 Avraham bowed himself down before the people of the land. 13 He spoke to Efron in the audience of the people of the land, saying, "But if you will, please hear me. I will give the price of the field. Take it from me, and I will bury my dead there." 14 Efron answered Avraham, saying to him 15 “My lord, listen to me. What is a piece of land worth four hundred shekels of silver between me and you? Therefore bury your dead.” 16 Avraham listened to Efron. Avraham weighed to Efron the silver which he had named in the audience of the children of Het, four hundred shekels of silver, according to the current merchants’ standard. 17  So the field of Efron, which was in Makhpelah, which was before Mamre, the field, the cave which was therein, and all the trees that were in the field, that were in all the border of it round about, were made sure

18 to Avraham for a possession in the presence of the children of Het, before all who went in at the gate of his city.

19 After this, Avraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field of Makhpelah before Mamre (the same is Hevron), in the land of Kanaan 20 The field, and the cave that is therein, were made sure to Avraham for a possession of a burying place by the children of Het.

24:1 Avraham was old, and well stricken in age. The LORD had blessed Avraham in all things. 2 Avraham said to his servant, the elder of his house, who ruled over all that he had, “Please put your hand under my thigh. 3 I will make you swear by the LORD, the God of heaven and the God of the eretz, that you shall not take a wife for my son of the daughters of the Kanaanim, among whom I live.

4 But you shall go to my country, and to my relatives, and take a wife for my son Yitzchak."

5 The servant said to him, "What if the woman isn't willing to follow me to this land? Must I bring your son again to the land you came from?"

6 Avraham said to him, "Beware that you don't bring my son there again.

The LORD, the God of heaven, who took me from my father's house, and from the land of my birth, who spoke to me, and who swore to me, saying, 'To your descendants I will give this land.' He will send his angel before you, and you shall take a wife for my son from there. 8 If the woman isn't willing to follow you, then you shall be clear from this my oath. Only you shall not bring my son there again."

9 The servant put his hand under the thigh of Avraham his master, and swore to him concerning this matter.

10 The servant took ten camels, of his master's camels, and departed, having all goodly things of his master's in his hand. He arose, and went to Aram-Naharayim, to the city of Nachor.

1 He made the camels kneel down outside the city by the well of water at the time of evening, the time that women go out to draw water. 12 He said, "The LORD, the God of my master Avraham, please give me success this day, and show kindness to my master Avraham.

3 Behold, I am standing by the spring of water. The daughters of the men of the city are coming out to draw water.

14 Let it happen, that the young lady to whom I will say, 'Please let down your pitcher, that I may drink.' She will say, 'Drink, and I will also give your camels a drink.' Let the same be she who you have appointed for your servant Yitzchak. Thereby will I know that you have shown kindness to my master."

15 It happened, before he had done speaking, that behold, Rivka came out, who was born to Betu'el the son of Milkah, the wife of Nachor, Avraham's brother, with her pitcher on her shoulder.

16 The young lady was very beautiful to look at, a virgin, neither had any man known her. She went down to the spring, filled her pitcher, and came up.

17 The servant ran to meet her, and said, "Please give me a drink, a little water from your pitcher."

18 She said, "Drink, my lord." She hurried, and let down her pitcher on her hand, and gave him drink.

19 When she had done giving him drink, she said, "I will also draw for your camels, until they have done drinking."

20 She hurried, and emptied her pitcher into the trough, and ran again to the well to draw, and drew for all his camels.

21 The man looked steadfastly at her, holding his shalom, to know whether the LORD had made his journey prosperous or not.

22 t happened, as the camels had done drinking, that the man took a golden ring of half a shekel weight, and two bracelets for her hands of ten shekels weight of gold,

23 and said, "Whose daughter are you? Please tell me. Is there room in your father's house for us to lodge in?"

24 She said to him, "I am the daughter of Betu'el the son of Milkah, whom she bore to Nachor."25 he said moreover to him, "We have both straw and provender enough, and room to lodge in."

26 The man bowed his head, and worshiped the LORD. 27 He said, "Blessed be the LORD, the God of my master Avraham, who has not forsaken his lovingkindness and his truth toward my master. As for me, the LORD has led me in the way to the house of my master's relatives."

28 The young lady ran, and told her mother's house about these words.

29 Rivka had a brother, and his name was Lavan. Lavan ran out to the man, to the spring.

30 It happened, when he saw the ring, and the bracelets on his sister's hands, and when he heard the words of Rivka his sister, saying, "This is what the man said to me," that he came to the man. Behold, he was standing by the camels at the spring

31 He said, "Come in, you blessed of the LORD. Why do you stand outside? For I have prepared the house, and room for the camels." 32 The man came into the house, and he unloaded the camels. He gave straw and provender for the camels, and water to wash his feet and the feet of the men who were with him.

33 Food was set before him to eat. But he said, "I will not eat until I have told my message." He said, "Speak on."

34 He said, "I am Avraham's servant.

35 The LORD has blessed my master greatly. He has become great. He has given him flocks and herds, silver and gold, men-servants and maid-servants, and camels and donkeys.

36 Sarah, my master's wife, bore a son to my master when she was old. He has given all that he has to him.

37 My master made me swear, saying, 'You shall not take a wife for my son of the daughters of the Kanaanim, in whose land I live, 38 but you shall go to my father’s house, and to my relatives, and take a wife for my son.’ 39 I said to my master, ‘What if the woman will not follow me?’ 40 He said to me, ‘The LORD, before whom I walk, will send his angel with you, and prosper your way. You shall take a wife for my son of my relatives, and of my father’s house. 41 Then will you be clear from my oath, when you come to my relatives. If they don’t give her to you, you shall be clear from my oath.’ 42 I came this day to the spring, and said, ‘The LORD, the God of my master Avraham, if now you do prosper my way which I go. 43 Behold, I am standing by the spring of water. Let it happen, that the almah who comes forth to draw, to whom I will say, Give me, I pray you, a little water from your pitcher to drink. 44 She will tell me, “Drink, and I will also draw for your camels.” Let the same be the woman whom the LORD has appointed for my master’s son.’ 45 Before I had done speaking in my heart, behold, Rivka came forth with her pitcher on her shoulder. She went down to the spring, and drew. I said to her, ‘Please let me drink.’ 46 She hurried and let down her pitcher from her shoulder, and said, ‘Drink, and I will also give your camels a drink.’ So I drank, and she made the camels drink also. 47 I asked her, and said, ‘Whose daughter are you?’ She said, ‘The daughter of Betu’el, Nachor’s son, whom Milkah bare to him.’ I put the ring on her nose, and the bracelets on her hands. 48 I bowed my head, and worshiped the LORD, and blessed the LORD, the God of my master Avraham, who had led me in the right way to take my master’s brother’s daughter for his son. 49 Now if you will deal kindly and truly with my master, tell me. If not, tell me. That I may turn to the right hand, or to the left.” 50 Then Lavan and Betu’el answered, “The thing proceeds from the LORD. We can’t speak to you bad or good. 51 Behold, Rivka is before you, take her, and go, and let her be your master’s son’s wife, as the LORD has spoken.”

NEW TESTAMENT: MATTHEW 8:1 – 17

8:1 When he came down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him. 
2 Behold, a leper came to him and worshiped him, saying, “Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean.” 
3 Yeshua stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, “I want to. Be made clean.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. 
4 Yeshua said to him, “See that you tell nobody, but go, show yourself to the Kohen, and offer the gift that Moshe commanded, as a testimony to them.” 
5 When he came into Kafar-Nachum, a centurion came to him, asking him, 
6and saying, “Lord, my servant lies in the house paralyzed, grievously tormented.” 
7 Yeshua said to him, “I will come and heal him.” 
8 The centurion answered, “Lord, I’m not worthy for you to come under my roof. Just say the word, and my servant will be healed. 
9 For I am also a man under authority, having under myself soldiers. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” 
10 When Yeshua heard it, he marveled, and said to those who followed, “Most assuredly I tell you, I haven’t found so great a faith, not even in Yisra’el. 
11 I tell you that many will come from the east and the west, and will sit down with Avraham, Yitzchak, and Yaakov, in the Kingdom of Heaven

12 but the sons of the kingdom will be thrown out into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and the gnashing of teeth."

13 Yeshua said to the centurion, "Go your way. Let it be done for you as you as you have believed." His servant was healed in that hour.

14 When Yeshua came into Kefa's house, he saw his wife's mother lying sick of a fever. 15 He touched her hand, and the fever left her. She got up and served him.

16 When evening came, they brought to him many possessed with demons. He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick

17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Yeshayahu the prophet, saying: “He took our infirmities, and bore our diseases.”

4 May He grant you your heart's desire, And fulfill all your counsel.

5 We will triumph in your yeshuah.
In the name of our God we will set up our banners:
The LORD fulfill all your petitions. 
6 Now I know that the LORD saves his anointed.
He will answer him from his holy heaven,

PSALMS: 50

1 The Mighty One, God, the LORD, speaks,
And calls the eretz from sunrise to sunset.

A fire devours before him.
It is very tempestuous around him.

You thought that the “I AM” was just like you.
I will rebuke you, and accuse you in front of your eyes.

PSALMS: 80

1 Hear us, Shepherd of Yisra’el,
You who lead Yosef like a flock,
You who sit above the Keruvim, shine forth. 
2 Before Efrayim and Binyamin and Menashsheh,
stir up your might,
Come to save us. 
3 Turn us again, God.
Cause your face to shine,
And we will be saved.
4 LORD God Tzva’ot,
How long will you be angry against the prayer of your people?

The branch that you made strong for yourself.

They perish at your rebuke. 
17  Let your hand be on the man of your right hand,
On the son of man whom you made strong for yourself. 
18 So we will not turn away from you.
Revive us, and we will call on your name. 
19 Turn us again, LORD God Tzva’ot.
Cause your face to shine, and we will be saved.

PSALMS: 110

1 The LORD says to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand,
Until I make your enemies your footstool for your feet.” 
2 The LORD will send forth the rod of your strength out of Tziyon.
Rule in the midst of your enemies. 
3 Your people offer themselves willingly in the day of your power,
In holy array.
Out of the womb of the morning, you have the dew of your youth. 
4 The LORD has sworn, and will not change his mind:
“You are a Kohen forever in the order of Malki-Tzedek.”

PROVERBS: 20

OLD TESTAMENT: GENESIS 20:1 – 22:24

20:1 Avraham journeyed from there toward the land of the South, and lived between Kadesh and Shur. He sojourned in Gerar. 2 Avraham said about Sarah his wife, “She is my sister.” Avimelekh king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah. 3 But God came to Avimelekh in a dream of the night, and said to him, “Behold, you are a dead man, because of the woman whom you have taken. For she is a man’s wife.” 4 Now Avimelekh had not come near her. He said, “Lord, will you kill even a righteous nation? 5 Didn’t he tell me, ‘She is my sister?’ She, even she herself said, ‘He is my brother.’ In the integrity of my heart and the innocence of my hands have I done this.” 6 God said to him in the dream, “Yes, I know that in the integrity of your heart you have done this, and I also withheld you from sinning against me. Therefore I didn’t allow you to touch her. 7 Now therefore, restore the man’s wife. For he is a prophet, and he will pray for you, and you will live. If you don’t restore her, know for sure that you will die, you, and all who are yours. 
8 Avimelekh rose early in the morning, and called all his servants, and told all these things in their ear. The men were very scared. 9 Then Avimelekh called Avraham, and said to him, “What have you done to us? How have I sinned against you, that you have brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? You have done deeds to me that ought not to be done!”10 Avimelekh said to Avraham, “What did you see, that you have done this thing?” 11 Avraham said, “Because I thought, ‘Surely the fear of God is not in this place. They will kill me for my wife’s sake.’ 12 Moreover she is indeed my sister, the daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother; and she became my wife. 13 It happened, when God caused me to wander from my father’s house, that I said to her, ‘This is your kindness which you shall show to me. Everywhere that we go, say of me, “He is my brother.”‘” 14 Avimelekh took sheep and oxen, men-servants and women-servants, and gave them to Avraham, and restored Sarah, his wife to him. 15 Avimelekh said, “Behold, my land is before you. Dwell where it pleases you.” 16 To Sarah he said, “Behold, I have given your brother a thousand pieces of silver. Behold, it is for you a covering of the eyes to all that are with you. In front of all you are vindicated.” 17 Avraham prayed to God. God healed Avimelekh, and his wife, and his maid-servants, and they bore children. 18 For the LORD had closed up tight all the wombs of the house of Avimelekh, because of Sarah, Avraham’s wife.

21:1 The LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did to Sarah as he had spoken. 2 Sarah conceived, and bore Avraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. 3 Avraham called his son who was born to him, whom Sarah bare to him, Yitzchak. 4 Avraham circumcised his son, Yitzchak, when he was eight days old, as God had commanded him. 5 Avraham was one hundred years old when his son, Yitzchak, was born to him. 6 Sarah said, “God has made me laugh. Everyone who hears will laugh with me.” 7 She said, “Who would have said to Avraham, that Sarah would nurse children? For I have borne him a son in his old age.” 8 The child grew, and was weaned. Avraham made a great feast on the day that Yitzchak was weaned. 9 Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Mitzrian, whom she had borne to Avraham, mocking. 10 Therefore she said to Avraham, “Cast out this handmaid and her son! For the son of this handmaid will not be heir with my son, even with Yitzchak.” 11 The thing was very grievous in Avraham’s sight on account of his son. 12 God said to Avraham, “Don’t let it be grievous in your sight because of the boy, and because of your handmaid. In all that Sarah says to you, listen to her voice. For from Yitzchak will your seed be called. 13 Also of the son of the handmaid will I make a nation, because he is your seed.” 14 Avraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread and a bottle of water, and gave it to Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and gave her the child, and sent her away. She departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Be’er-Sheva. 15 The water in the bottle was spent, and she cast the child under one of the shrubs. 16 She went and sat down opposite him, a good way off, about a bow shot away. For she said, “Don’t let me see the death of the child.” She sat over against him, and lifted up her voice, and wept. 17  God heard the voice of the boy. The angel of God called to Hagar out of the sky, and said to her, “What ails you, Hagar? Don’t be afraid. For God has heard the voice of the boy where he is. 18 Get up, lift up the boy, and hold him in your hand. For I will make him a great nation.” 19 God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. She went, filled the bottle with water, and gave the boy drink. 20 God was with the boy, and he grew. He lived in the wilderness, and became, as he grew up, an archer. 21 He lived in the wilderness of Paran. His mother took a wife for him out of the land of Mitzrayim. 22 It happened at that time, that Avimelekh and Pikhol the captain of his host spoke to Avraham, saying, “God is with you in all that you do. 23 Now therefore swear to me here by God that you will not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son’s son. But according to the kindness that I have done to you, you shall do to me, and to the land in which you have sojourned.” 24 Avraham said, “I will swear.” 25 Avraham complained to Avimelekh because of a water well, which Avimelekh’s servants had violently taken away. 26 Avimelekh said, I don’t know who has done this thing. Neither did you tell me, neither did I hear of it, until today.” 27 Avraham took sheep and oxen, and gave them to Avimelekh. Those two made a covenant. 28 Avraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock by themselves. 29 Avimelekh said to Avraham, “What do these seven ewe lambs which you have set by themselves mean?” 30 He said, “You shall take these seven ewe lambs from my hand, that it may be a witness to me, that I have dug this well.” 31 Therefore he called that place Be’er-Sheva, because they both swore there. 32 So they made a covenant at Be’er-Sheva. Avimelekh rose up with Pikhol, the captain of his host, and they returned into the land of the Pelishtim. 33 Avraham planted a tamarisk tree in Be’er-Sheva, and called there on the name of the LORD, the Everlasting God. 34 Avraham sojourned in the land of the Pelishtim many days.

22:1 It happened after these things, that God tested Avraham, and said to him, “Avraham!” He said, “Here I am.” 2 He said, “Now take your son, your only son, whom you love, even Yitzchak, and go into the land of Moriyah. Offer him there for a burnt offering on one of the mountains which I will tell you of.” 3 Avraham rose early in the morning, and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Yitzchak his son. He split the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went to the place of which God had told him. 4 On the third day Avraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place far off. 5 Avraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey. The boy and I will go yonder. We will worship, and come back to you. 6 Avraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Yitzchak his son. He took in his hand the fire and the knife. They both went together. 7 Yitzchak spoke to Avraham his father, and said, “My father?” He said, “Here I am, my son.” He said, “Here is the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?” 8 Avraham said, “God will provide himself the lamb for a burnt offering, my son.” So they both went together. 9 They came to the place which God had told him of. Avraham built the altar there, and laid the wood in order, bound Yitzchak his son, and laid him on the altar, on the wood. 10 Avraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to kill his son. 11 The angel of the LORD called to him out of the sky, and said, “Avraham, Avraham!” He said, “Here I am.” 12 He said, “Don’t lay your hand on the boy, neither do anything to him. For now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.” 13 Avraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and saw that behind him was a ram caught in the thicket by his horns. Avraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering instead of his son. 14 Avraham called the name of that place Yahweh-jireh. As it is said to this day, “In the LORD’s mountain it will be provided. 15 The angel of the LORD called to Avraham a second time out of the sky, 16 and said, “I have sworn by myself, says the LORD, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son, 17 that in blessing I will bless you, and in multiplying I will multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens, and as the sand which is on the seashore. Your seed will possess the gate of his enemies. 18 In your seed will all the nations of the eretz be blessed, because you have obeyed my voice.” 19 So Avraham returned to his young men, and they rose up and went together to Be’er-Sheva. Avraham lived at Be’er-Sheva. 20 It happened after these things, that it was told Avraham, saying, “Behold, Milkah, she also has borne children to your brother Nachor: 21 Utz his firstborn, Buz his brother, Kemu'el the father of Aram, 22 Kesed, Hazo, Pildash, Yidlaf, and Betu'el."

23 Betu'el became the father of Rivka. These eight Milkah bore to Nachor, Avraham's brother.

NEW TESTAMENT: MATTHEW 7:15 – 29

7:15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves. 
16 By their fruits you will know them. Do you gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles? 
17 Even so, every good tree brings forth good fruit; but the corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit. 
18 A good tree can’t bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 
19 Every tree that doesn’t grow good fruit is cut down, and thrown into the fire. 
20 Therefore, by their fruits you will know them. 
21 Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 
22 Many will tell me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy by your name, by your name cast out demons, and by your name do many mighty works?’
23 Then I will tell them, ‘I never knew you. Depart from me, you who work iniquity.’ 
24 “Everyone therefore who hears these words of mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man, who built his house on a rock. 
25 The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it didn’t fall, for it was founded on the rock. 
26 Everyone who hears these words of mine, and doesn’t do them will be like a foolish man, who built his house on the sand. 
27  The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it fell — and great was its fall.” 
28 It happened, when Yeshua had finished saying these things, that the multitudes were astonished at his teaching, 
29 for he taught them with authority, and not like the Sofrim.
