Paki sources identified by appearance that the attackers in the photographs as being Punjabi (from NW India, E Pakistan).

Three terrorists were captured at the Taj Mahal Hotel: Ajmal Amir Kamal, a resident of Faridkot, Multan in Pakistan and two other Pujabi Pakistanis. The one Pujabi identifies himself as Salim the other refuses to identify himself. They all speak Urdu with a clear Punjabi accent.

A terrorist named Sahadullah during the Taj Mahal siege called India TV to make a statement and spoke with a clear Kashmiri accent.

They all claim to belong to Lashkar-e-Taiba.

Kamal said there were twelve of them, they had come in a merchant vessel, which dropped them at 10 miles out where they took an open fiber-glass boat to Mumbai.

Kamal is from Faridkot, Multan, Pakistan (not to be confused with Faridkot, Punjab, India).

Likely the merchant vessel sailed from Karachi, the ship has been boarded and searched.

It was actually the fishing

vessel Kuber, belonging to a fisherman from Porbander, Vinod Masani. The vessel was hijacked on the open sea on November 14th. It was discovered today moored 20 miles off Porbander and abandoned with the body of the dead captain aboard. It is suspected that the terrorists hijacked the Kuber, killed the crew except the captain who was forced to sail the boat to Mumbai, then the terrorist assault force launched the inflatable boats and the Kuber returned to waters off Porbander where the captain, Amarsing Naran was killed and the remaining terrorists left in a separate boat back to the Pakistani coast near Karachi.

Could the US Coast Guard have caught this?

It is believed that another merchant vessel was involved with the assault also.
The other vessel is the MV Alpha, a cargo trawler. It has been boarded and searched.

We are picking up background noise and chatter that "Ghoroub XP" is responsible

for taking down over 300 Shiite websites, and that the Shiites have taken out over 1,000 Sunni terrorist web sites and forums so far. This is a threat USA needs to address, who are these Shiite Uber Hackers?

Besides the Nuclear arms issue it seems Iran is developing a very sucessful cyber strike force.

WE have BSU's deployed. Could they start knocking down USA sites?

If they turn on USA sites we will deploy agaisnt them, self defense.

Rocket attack by Taliban kills 10 in NW Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) -- Up to ten people were killed in a rocket attack by Taliban in northwest Pakistan on Monday, according to private DAWN NEWS TV channel.

The rocket attack targeted the house of a local member of provincial assembly (MPA) in Swat valley in North West Frontier Province.

As a result of the attack, MPA Waqar Ahmed's brother and other family members were killed, according to DAWN NEWS.

The Bajaur chapter of a militant group Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan Sunday unilaterally ceased fire with security forces and offered peace talks with the government. However, Pakistani government rejected their offer.

The Taliban have the upper hand and should be put on the list of banned organizations in Pakistan, said Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Co-Chairman and presidential candidate Zardari in a interview with a foreign media on Sunday.

I looked at the pics of the damage, very little charring, no craters, almost certainly they were Katyusha rockets. They are coming in from Uzbekistan, sold from the Russian Army for heroin. They were using them over the Durand Line but our return fire was so effective they largely stopped. The launchers are hard to come by so they don't use them on us very often.

They have a range of about 28 km., 6 kg. warhead, very accurate at 4-5 km. Been around since 1941. Likely also it was mainly a mortar attack.

Israeli official says attack on Iran 'unavoidable

JERUSALEM - An Israeli attack on Iranian nuclear sites looks “unavoidable” given the apparent failure of sanctions to deny Tehran technology with bomb-making potential, one of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s deputies said Friday.

“If Iran continues with its program for developing nuclear weapons, we will attack it. The sanctions are ineffective,” Transport Minister Shaul Mofaz told the mass-circulation Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper.

“Attacking Iran, in order to stop its nuclear plans, will be unavoidable,” said the former army chief who has also been defense minister.

WANA, Pakistan - A missile struck a house in a Pakistani region known as being a safe haven for al-Qaida early on Thursday, killing 10 suspected militants including foreigners, intelligence officials and residents said.

The attack took place near Kaloosha village in the South Waziristan tribal region on the Afghan border.

"The blast shook the entire area," said resident Behlool Khan.

A security official said he believed the missile was fired by U.S. forces who are operating in neighboring Afghanistan, and the house that was hit belonged to a Pashtun tribesman, Sher Mohammad Malikkheil, also known as Sheroo, who was known to have links with militants.

"Ten people, most of them believed to be of Arab origin, were killed and seven wounded," said an intelligence official, who declined to be identified.

After a U.S. airstrike leveled a small compound in Pakistan's lawless tribal regions in January 2006, President Pervez Musharraf and his intelligence officials announced that several senior Al Qaeda operatives had been killed, and that the top prize was an elusive Egyptian who was believed to be a chemical weapons expert.

But current and former U.S. intelligence officials now believe that the Egyptian, Abu Khabab Masri, is alive and well -- and in charge of resurrecting Al Qaeda's program to develop or obtain weapons of mass destruction.

Given the problems with previous U.S. intelligence assessments of weapons of mass destruction, officials are careful not to overstate Al Qaeda's capabilities, and they emphasize that there is much they don't know because of the difficulty in getting information out of the mountainous area of northwest Pakistan where the network has reestablished itself.

But they say Al Qaeda has regenerated at least some of the robust research and development effort that it lost when the U.S. military bombed its Afghanistan headquarters and training camps in late 2001, and they believe it is once again trying to develop or obtain chemical, biological, radiological and even nuclear weapons to use in attacks on the United States and other enemies.

Gertz - Al Qaeda:'Large Operation in America, God Willing'

An Al Qaida Internet site reported last week that terrorists are planning a major attack in the United States in the coming weeks.

The Jan. 12 posting titled “A Large Operation in America, God Willing,” stated that the upcoming attack was imminent. Other participants chastised the writer for tipping Al Qaida’s hand.

Counterterrorism analysts said the threat could be real or Al Qaida deception designed to test U.S. security by announcing an planned attack and observing the level of increased security.

For those seeking more information, the author of the posting said they should be patient but assured forum members that “the lions have taken off and you will see [the proof] in the coming weeks.”

“We ask God to guide the aim of the jihadists and to grant them success in the revenge campaign for Abu-Musab al-Zarqawi,” the message said.

Another discussant expressed doubts about the claim, noting that “to my knowledge, Al Qaida does not announce about any operation before it takes place. We are hopeful that the news from our brother (the poster) is true and that God will guide the aim of the mujahidin, grant them victory, and heal the (wounded) hearts of the believers."

One of the moderators of the forum cautioned other members about discussing the potentially sensitive information, noting “there is no gain in escalating this topic."

“It is not wise or deceitful to announce something before it takes place, because I fear that you will commit two dangerous mistakes: 1. Foiling the operation before it takes place as a result of the enemy's knowledge after your announcement. 2. I am concerned that you might be deceitful with this hasty announcement. God is all-wise and all-knowing. Please accept this advice from a brother who loves you for the sake of God."

In responding to doubts from forum members, the author stated that “the hint was given only to ensure that the matter does not get attributed to others when it occurs.”

If the British government fails to respond to our demands by the last day of March 2008 as they fail to answer to the truce of our Shaykh Usama bin Laden and to the truce of the Emir of Believers Abu Omar al-Baghdadi, then the Martyrdom seekers of the organisation of al-Qaeda in Britain will target all the political leaders, especially Tony Blair and Gordan Brown, and we will also target all Embassies, Crusaders Centers and their Interests through out the country, with the help of Allah.

Background Attack on Serena Hotel

As Kabul reels from a violent attack on the luxurious five-star Serena Hotel, the Taleban are in jubilant mood.

"We have said that we will show the world the weakness of the Kabul administration," crowed Taleban spokesman Zabiullah Mojahed in a telephone interview with IWPR. "If we can carry out an operation like this right at Karzai's feet, what is to stop us from reaching any target we choose?"

The Serena is a stone's throw from the presidential palace; a mere 50 metres separates the scene of the attack from Karzai's residence.

Details of the attack are still in dispute, but the outlines are clear. At a little after 6 pm on the evening of January 14, four armed men in police uniforms approached the heavily fortified gate of the Kabul Serena Hotel.

One of them opened fire, killing a guard. When a second guard returned fire, the gunman detonated his explosive vest, killing himself.

In the ensuing confusion, at least two others entered the compound, gaining access to the hotel lobby. There the second man blew himself up, blasting ball bearings throughout the area and killing or wounding several people in addition to himself.

A third man ran to the spa area, where foreigners were working out in the gym or relaxing in the sauna. Along the way, he sprayed bullets at anyone he saw, gravely injuring a spa worker, a Filipina who managed the facility. The woman later died.

It is not clear whether the fourth man actually entered the Serena, although the Taleban spokesman claimed that he was following behind the others with a video camera.

"Our people in the hotel fired their guns until they ran out of bullets," said Mojahed. "One of our men was filming, but he left the camera at the hotel."

The Taleban spokesman boasted that the attack killed 35 people, both foreign and Afghan.

The official tally was more modest. According to Amrullah Saleh, head of Afghanistan's National Directorate for Security, NDS, six people died in the attack, including the Afghan guard, three Americans, one Norwegian journalist, and the Filipina spa worker, whom he incorrectly identified as French.

The United States embassy has confirmed that one American died; the nationalities of the others is not known. Other reports have listed seven dead.

People evacuated from the hotel described pools of blood, lifeless bodies, falling plaster and bullet holes. The hotel was cordoned off, with guests and visitors evacuated. The NDS took command while police patrolled the perimeter.

Much of the capital was in lockdown mode on January 15, as Afghan security forces briefed the press on the progress of their investigation.

"Within 15 minutes of the attack, the security forces had established control," said NDS head Saleh. "We arrested the third attacker, and we have asked him a lot of questions."

This third man, named as Salauddin, was in the process of shedding his police uniform and explosive vest when he was detained. He had, according to Saleh, changed his mind about committing suicide.

The NDS was able to establish the identity of all four attackers, said Saleh. Based on Salauddin's testimony, the operation was planned by Mullah Abdullah, who is living in Miramshah across the border in Pakistan, close to the Afghan province of Khost.

Abdullah recruited the men, who, in addition to Salauddin, were named as Faroq and Zaimullah - both of whom died in the attack - and a fourth man identified as Hamayoun.

Saleh said Hamayoun was responsible for organising the assault locally, and it was he who furnished the explosives.

According to the Taleban spokesman, he was also the one filming.

By the morning of January 15, the NDS had arrested Hamayoun and raided a safe house in Kabul where the four were apparently holed up for two days prior to the attack.

Saleh said his officers found a video camera at the house. He showed assembled reporters a clip showing Faroq, one of the suicide attackers.

"I am doing this for Allah," said Faroq on film. "Not for any group or any person."

The NDS chief said, "Now only one person is missing - this Abdullah. And we will try to find him and arrest him, too."

On the evening of the attack, Norwegian foreign minister Jonas Gahr Stoere was attending a function at the hotel. He was unharmed in the attack, which appeared to target foreigners in general, rather than high-ranking diplomats.

The Australian embassy is also located at the Serena. Staff have evacuated the facility and have announced that they are relocating.

The NDS head insisted that the attack was a sign of the Taleban's weakness.

"An enemy who cannot hold territory, an enemy who can find no refuge among the people, has no other recourse but suicide bombing. The Taleban cannot fight us face to face. So they continue killing people this way," said Saleh.

A group of Czech artists who inserted a nuclear explosion into a national weather broadcast have been told by a prosecutor they could be sent to jail.
The six hackers are accused of hacking into equipment broadcasting a live panoramic shot of mountains last June.

A flash of bright light could be seen followed by a fiery mushroom cloud on the horizon.

The group, who last month won an award from Prague's National Gallery, face charges of spreading false information.

The six, who call themselves "Ztohoven", claim that the aim of the project - called Media Reality - was to show how reality can be manipulated by the media.

They say they are not political and do not intend to intimidate society.

But Czech Television, which broadcast the hacked Panorama programme, said the stunt was "very unsuitable and could have frightened a lot of people".


In order to hack into the broadcast, the group is said to have climbed up a television tower near the Krkonose ("Giant Mountains") in the northern Czech Republic and connected a computer to the camera and broadcast cable.

Ztohoven are no strangers to publicity stunts.

When President Vaclav Havel stepped down in January 2003, they covered up part of a neon heart sculpture in his honour at Prague Castle and turned it into a giant question mark.

A state prosecutor in the northern town of Trutnov said that a trial could start this month.

If found guilty, the six could face a heavy fine or a maximum sentence of three years in jail.

Suicide attack at Pakistani nuclear weapons complex

As the Pakistani military continues the slow push to regain control of the settled district of Swat, suicide bombers struck in two locations, one at a sensitive weapons facility near Islamabad. The most deadly attack occurred in Swat in the Northwest Frontier Province after a suicide bomber hit a police checkpoint near Matta, where the Pakistani Army just established a presence. Ten were killed, including two children and three police.

But the attack at a Pakistani Air Force base in Kamra, while only injuring seven, has far more serious implications. The Kamra complex is a likely location for Pakistan's nuclear weapons program. The suicide bomber targeted a bus filled with 35 children of Pakistani Air Force officers. The driver, a conductor, and five children were wounded in the strike.

Al-Jinan said that it lost all of its content and code due to that latest attack on the forum, and asked all previous members to join again (they also moved to a new server and increased their security against future attacks, Malaysia).

We have burned their head hacker in the past utlizing the security holes in the DOS attack program. #3 is same as #2 program but with different Skin, they have upgraded their server security but it is still lacking.
