Improve your UX with Google Analytics | Creative Bloq

Improve your UX with Google Analytics | Creative Bloq : "Web analytics tools have a lot to offer the user experience field. Because the tools have matured and there's so much information out there about how to use them, now is a great time to get started working with them. With web analytics, user researchers can look at much larger sample sizes than is possible with more resource-intensive methods, such as usability testing. This can be useful if you need to establish a high degree of certainty that a particular design change will be effective before you implement it. Analytics also gives researchers an opportunity to come up with answers much quicker than is possible when using in-person activities." How to use Google analytics to measure engagement on your blog

How to use Google analytics to measure engagement on your blog : " Are visitors to your blog really engaged in your content? How much of what you write do they read? Is your ‘bounce’ rate an accurate reflection of how engaging your blog is? It’s important to understand how to use Google Analytics and your engagement statistics so that you can understand what your visitors are doing, and work to improve your blog. " One question I have "Is bounce rate a meaningful measure of a blog as compared to a website or is it even more important?" Just thinking my own use of blogs as a reader I might come to the blog and read down through several posts which may not be recorded. Thoughts about using Amazon S3

Suitability Amazon is appropriate for both new and previously developed material is being migrated. Again static web content is easier to migrate. Integration with tools such as Google Analytics and WebMaster tools is relatively simple, especially if you start by adding Google Analytics first (you can use the Google Analytics account) to verify the web account. Things to remember Uploading files is relatively easy but I have been caught a couple of times: First way, and the most embarrassing, make sure the links actually point to the links within the Amazon site. It is fairly easy when migrating the site across in one go to have links to the 'old' site. slightly less embarrassing is when you upload the files you need to change the permissions to make public. It can be done late by right-clicking on the page in the AWS Management Console and selecting make public.  Adding users Other users can be given access to the website by using the permissions. This can be fo...

Problem with DropBox

In an earlier blog entry the use of the public folder within a dropbox account was discussed as a way of hosting a website. Dropbox is a fanatastic tool, it provides an easy and free way of moving a site if you are happy to have static content. So for rescuing a site this is a great tool. I have found a few problems, which is not surprising as it is being used in a way it was not designed for, - You can add google analytic s to it, but it is difficult to (I have found a way yet) of adding a Webmaster profile to it though. -Similar problem with Bing Webmaster toolbox you can add a profile but not a sitemap. So it will allow verification of the site through meta-tags.
