A Poem to Stay Confident and an Individual

Still I Rise (1978)

By ~ Maya Angelou, 1928 – 2014

Maya Angelou. 'She was special, she was rare.'

“You may write me down in history

With your bitter, twisted lies,

You may trod me in the very dirt

But still, like dust, I’ll rise.

Does my sassiness upset you?

Why are you beset with gloom?

‘Cause I walk like I’ve got oil wells

Pumping in my living room.

Just like moons and like suns,

With the certainty of tides,

Just like hopes springing tides,

Still I’ll rise.

Did you want to see me broken?

Bowed head and lowered eyes?

Shoulders falling down like teardrops,

Weakened by my soulful cries?

Does my haughtiness offend you?

Don’t you take it awful hard

‘Cause I laugh like I’ve got gold mines

Diggin’ in my backyard.

You may shoot me with your words,

You may cut me with your eyes,

You may kill me with your hatefulness,

But still, like air I’ll rise.

Out of the huts of history’s shame

I rise

Up from a past that’s rooted in  pain

I rise

I’m black ocean, leaping and wide,

Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.

Leaving behind nights of terror and fear

I rise

Into a daybreak that’s wondrously clear

I rise

Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,

I am the dream and the hope of the slave.

I rise

I rise

I rise.”

Is it Really That Funny?

You see all these cuts and tears? Do you laugh or help? please do tell why you laugh at people in pain.

You may think hurting other people around you only shows power and domination over the weak. Well guess what you’re wrong you are the weaker and we are the united! You ask me why we are united, yes? It’s simple really.

All of us who have been hurt day and day we will be stronger than ever because you know what you have done to us already. We know your simple moves! But you don’t know ours. Well here we come with the fire and wind!

Crashing and burning into you like all you are is paper… Because you are!

Standing For a better Tomorrow

2013-01-17 11.33.22

I never understood why kids bullied other kids. I Guess it’s because of power control and entertainment. Other kids feel better about themselves when attacking other kids, this is because those kids think feeding off of other kid’s power and life that it will make them more bigger… But it doesn’t…

Making someone become small with your words will only make them grow tall. The kids that get hurt the most learn the most. So if you think your words will knock us down, your wrong. Because you are the one getting small, for all the evil things you cast upon us. Well guess what those spells are only weighing you down because it adds up. It is time to fight back and stand.

  • A victim might think think they should literally fight back with words or fists.
  • A victim might think they should hide and stay in the corner.
  • A victim might think they should run away…

Instead…

  • Fight back with words that inspire and change people.
  • Get up and show your face.
  • Stay strong through the whole problem. Even if you feel like falling. It is no longer an option, because you are being watched by eyes of hope for a better tomorrow.

Hello

The Start

So I am just starting this blog.  I am very happy to be part of the blogging community. The posts that I will be making. Will contain information and deep thoughts about bullying.

I know this idea of trying to stop bullying in schools is a long shot. But it is a shot I’m willing to take. Because I have faced bullying in my life. Whether I have experienced it or have it happen to a family member and other kids around me in  my school.

Yes that’s right I am still a kid in school. However isn’t that just the best part? Learning the perspective of a kid that has went up against bullying. Learning it from another side, a side that knows the truth because bullying is always happening in my school. So my info is fresh.

Well I hope you find my upcoming posts inspiring. 🙂
