2026 Year End Match Campaign
Protect What Can’t Be Replaced
Redwood forests take centuries to grow
and once a forest is lost, it can’t be replaced.
Your Year-End gift helps protect forests,
restore damaged land, and connect critical wildlife habitat.
Give by December 31 and your gift will be matched
dollar-for-dollar, up to $500,000.
THE WORK BEGINS
BEFORE THE FIRST FLAME
A prescribed fire may last a day. Preparing a redwood forest for it takes months of planning, partnership, and care. See what it takes to return beneficial fire to the forest and how steady support makes this work possible.
The Secret Life of Redwoods
Created with the California Academy of Sciences, The Secret Life of Redwoods follows the questions that take us inside these remarkable forests. Each episode explores one mystery of coast redwoods and the living world around them.
Sempervirens Fund Supporters Dedicate Old-Growth Redwood at Big Basin to Honor Former Congresswoman Anna Eshoo
Sempervirens Fund supporters dedicated an old-growth redwood tree in Big Basin Redwoods State Park in honor of former Congresswoman Anna Eshoo, recognizing her more than three decades of conservation leadership representing parts of Santa Cruz, San Mateo, and Santa Clara counties in Congress.
Nature Needs Time to Heal
The CZU fire transformed Big Basin Redwoods State Park in a matter of hours. Its effects will linger for hundreds of years. The forest is expected to rebound, eventually, more or less—but when? How long until the forest looks, feels, sounds, and smells like the place we knew?

Our Work
Protecting Our Redwoods
Healthy, connected coast redwoods ensure vibrant habitat, clean air and water, and climate resilience. Your support purchases, restores, and safeguards redwood forests in the Santa Cruz Mountains, ensuring they will never be developed, degraded, or destroyed. Learn more about how we work.
Visit the Redwoods
Most people glimpse their first redwood in a public park. Your support expands our great local redwood parks, sharing new destinations with the public, and helping make the land more accessible and welcoming for everyone. Discover the redwoods of the Santa Cruz Mountains.
Redwood Science
The redwood forests we protect are strategically identified for their ecological and conservation values. Many of these lands serve as critical habitat corridors. And redwoods are resilient allies in the fight to address our climate crisis. Explore Redwoods Science.
Caring for our Lands
We work in the forests, repairing and restoring the delicate balance of life, protecting and healing the best habitat. You can volunteer with us—helping tend to the forests—and you can fund the stewardship of the redwood forests you cherish. Learn more about caring for our lands.
