At 800 AM MDT...A closed upper level low over southern California
and associated cold front extended from Wyoming southward along
the Arizona-New Mexico border into northern New Mexico. Heavy rain
from Wednesday into early Friday has largely ended across
California and the Four Corners region, with only lingering
showers over the higher terrain. 2 to 5 inches of rain fell across

While the heavy rain has ended across California and the Four
Corners region, moisture from the Gulf of California will continue
to stream into the Southwest and Southern Plains, producing
showers and thunderstorms, some severe, today. A Slight Risk
(level 2 of 4) of excessive rainfall is in effect for portions of
the southern New Mexico and far western Texas today, shifting to
the Southern Rockies and the Central and Southern High Plains on
Saturday and Sunday, where localized flash flooding is possible.
River flooding will continue in parts of southwest Colorado,
northern New Mexico, and northern Arizona as runoff works
downstream.
This will be the last Storm Summary issued by the Weather
Prediction Center for this event. Please refer to your local
National Weather service office for additional information.
