FAQ
What is this contest?
This contest is to find the male and female who will be the faces of *Zari* for 2012. Each month applicants will be narrowed down to 2 finalists, one male and one female; and 2 runners-up, again one male and one female. At the end of 2011, the 24 finalists and runners-up will compete for the titles of Gentleman *Zari* and Lady *Zari* as well as the runners-up: *Zari* Gentleman of the Bedchamber and *Zari* Lady-in-Waiting. The monthly contests will consist of a color theme that you will need to style and present. A design from my shop will need to be the focal point of the outfit.
Who can participate?
Any human male or female avatar at least 90 days old in Second Life. *Zari* models may also participate, and will be given the same consideration as anyone else. Judges and sponsors of course may not participate as a contestant. Any models who are currently the face of any other shop also may not participate.
What is the time period for this contest?
A complete schedule of events is listed below, but for a quick answer, this contest will run from January 1st 2011 to December 31st, 2011. As stated above, there will be a monthly contest for the finalists and the grande finale at the end of 2011.
What do I need to participate?
A great sense of style, excellent modeling skills, a passion for creativity and most importantly a great attitude and sense of professionalism. Full details are listed below, but you do not have to pay anything at all to enter this contest. No purchases are required. The items for each phase of the contest will be provided to you at no cost. Additionally you do not need to have exceptional photography skills or even the ability to afford a great photographer, as I will only be requiring basic SL snapshots for the initial phase of each part of the contest. More details below!
What will I be judged on?
What you are judged on includes, but is not limited to, the following:
-Styling
-Creativity
-Presence
-Ability to follow directions
-Sticking to the theme
-Poses: ability to choose proper poses both from a modeling standpoint and styling as well
-Attitude
-Professionalism
-Representation of the *Zari* brand and the spotlight design chosen for the outfit
Are there other ways I can get involved with the contest if I don’t want to compete?
Yes!! I will be needing the following and if you are interested I would LOVE to have your help if the position is still available:
-Photographer
-Bloggers
-Judges
-Sponsors
-Host/Hostess
-DJ
-Backstage help (for cuing and/or organizing the contestants)
RULES
1. No drama or divas will be tolerated!
2. You must be available for all events involved with your part of the contest. A no-show will result in automatic disqualification for that period.
3. You must use my designs provided for the phase of the contest you are competing in. Any additional designs are completely your choice and are encouraged. I LOVE to see mix and match styles/designers.
4. All photos submitted to the contest MUST be basic SL snapshots. Absolutely NO photo editing is permitted beyond cropping.
5. You must respect your fellow competitors, the judges, sponsors, myself, my models, and all involved with the contest. Any show of poor attitude, non-professionalism or lack of respect will result in disqualification from the contest.
STEPS TO FOLLOW FOR PHASE ONE
(Additional instructions will be given for those chosen as phase 2 semi-finalists each month.)

2. Visit my Mainstore here:

3. Add a profile pick at my mainstore in your profile.
4. Buy for 0L a copy of the Phase One item box for the contest.
5. Join my in world group * Zari * (NOT THE SUBSCRIBER). A clickable sign is available in my shop to give you the link to the group. It is inside and to the left of the entrance, just above the phase one item box.
6. Choose ONE or MORE items from the Phase One box you picked up in my shop. Style an outfit that shows YOUR personality, using the item(s) you chose. I want to see who YOU are, but want to be sure you know how to showcase my items too. Also please style in the color theme listed below for the month you are applying for. So look your best, style well but don’t forget my items you are wearing…they need to show. Any additional styling beyond what I provide is up to you and highly encouraged.
7. Take TWO basic SL snapshots – one full body shot and one headshot of yourself in SL. NO PHOTO EDITING ALLOWED, except for cropping as needed. NO NUDITY OR OFFENSIVE PHOTOS ALLOWED.
8. Upload the photos to your flickr account. Be sure to name the photo: *Zari* Contest <month you are submiting for> <YOUR FULL SL NAME>.

TIMELINE
Please note, exact dates & times will be attached each month:
Part 1- First week of each monthly contest will be for accepting applications and snapshots
Part 2- The second week of each monthly contest, up to 16 (split between male and female) semi-finalists will be selected and announced. Contestants will then be given their items to prepare for the next phase of the contest.
Part 3- The third week of each monthly contest will be used for practices and preparing for the monthly finale show. A time for a photoshoot will be scheduled as well. ALL monthly semi-finalists will get a photoshoot with Anabella Ravinelli showing their combination with the items given and their own added style.
Part 4- The dress rehearsal & runway presentation will be during the forth week of each monthly contest. This presentation will involve a mini show with *Zari* models and previous month contest finalists. Photoshoots will be completed this week as well. And the months finalists will be announced after all is complete.
PRIZES
As I will not be making money from contestants purchasing items from my shop, a linden prize is going to be the one variable. However, as I obtain sponsors for this event, I hope to grow the linden prize to a great amount! Each month there will be prizes awarded to the finalists and the runners-up. Also the grande finale will include prizes for the winners: Gentleman *Zari* and Lady *Zari* as well as the runners-up: *Zari* Gentleman of the Bedchamber and *Zari* Lady-in-Waiting. In addition, all applicants will receive a small gift, and semi-finalists a bit more. I want to be sure everyone is a winner! Please note, monthly finalists and runners-up may not apply again for the contest for this year.

*The purpose of this contest is to provide an equal opportunity to all residents who typically cannot compete in a contest because of having to spend lots of money on a designers items or on a good photographer. HOWEVER…this contest DOES require a certain knowledge, experience and skill in modeling. And you will be judged on such. At no point in this contest will a winner be chosen because of popularity, by voting, or because they are well known. It will be on the criteria mentioned above alone. And if a judge is found to not be following this, they will be removed from the panel.

However, any changes WILL be made public knowledge as soon as possible. I do not forsee this happening except for changes for the better, such as better prizes!
***All sponsor money collected for the duration of this event will be used for ONLY the following: Prize linden for the Gentleman and Lady *Zari*, payment to staff involved with the contest and rent for the venue and any other charges directly incurred because of the contest. At no point will this money be used for personal gain.
