Thanksgiving Fun

We had a great Thanksgiving despite the fact that Zac had to "work." We were WAY sad that we didn't get to spend the day with my mom and sister, Whitney, but we did get to spend the day with each other and our good friend Jean.

Teagan's favorite was definitely sweet potatoes. He helped me make them and ate so much before they even made it into their dish. :)

He got extremely excited when I asked him if he'd like to help me wash it. He was it with about 1 cup of soap and 5 gallons of water. He's very thorough! The actual feast was delicious! Since there were so few of us, we each picked our favorite Thanksgiving dish and we did steak instead of a Turkey. Of course we had to throw in salad and rolls to complete it. We had a great day filled with lots of food and fun!
Here is my video of Teagan. I'm convinced that his pout is the cutest thing I've ever seen. I just wanna kiss those big lips....haha

PS- I'm convinced that he has the ability to talk and just doesn't want to, my mother-in-law brought this to my attention, and my suspicion is now confirmed. If he can clearly say "gobble" he should be able to say a lot of other words...he just likes animal noises so he tries harder to learn them...must get that stubbornness from his momma. :)

The Falling, splashing, horse

I have tons and tons of videos. Here are a few of this past week. Teagan's personality cracks me up, he is silly and energetic and has a great imagination. Sorry they're a little long.

This is how we pretend to play "falling down." We do this a lot at our house.

We got to spend a fun-filled weekend with my mom which was great! How can you go wrong with Stone fire, lots of chocolate, "UP," "New Moon," and lots of bacon???? (We really like food). My mom noticed that Teagan likes to "skip" a lot, and that it was really funny, so we put it on video. He skips EVERYWHERE, he trips himself a lot doing this...which adds to the humor.

We went to the Wild Animal Park thinking that it would be a nice cool day at the Zoo, but it got hot enough for Teagan to play in the water. In the summer I come equipped with a swim suit and towel, but we had to settle for a diaper. After this video I joined him and taught him to river dance. Too bad that isn't on video, cause we are good!

Teagan is so awesome and I'm really struggling with deciding what to get him for Christmas. I discovered Fisher Prices "Little People" play sets and I want him to have them all. Anything to do with cars, trucks and big tractors he obviously needs. He also needs sets to pretend being a carpenter and doctor. Did I mention he needs a few Christmas sweaters and Christmas outfits. Puzzles, books, legos, stuffed animals, learning toys....SERIOUSLY how the heck are Zac and I going to pick one thing? Luckily we have his birthday too. What is the best present for a 2 year old boy?

My version of a snow hat...

I really wanted to make Teagan a snow hat since he needs one for when we go to Idaho and they're like $10 at the store. The one I made cost $1.50 and took about 1.5 hours to make so I was way excited to put it on him and see how awesome it was...it wasn't quite the vision I thought it'd be.

The final product is almost comical, I was laughing when I finished and started looking at all of the imperfections. Seams ended up on his forehead instead of at the back of his neck, the fabric poofs out and sticks out randomly, and the back is just downright rediculous looking (I think I'll rip out the seam and try again!) BUT, I am SO proud of myself despite the imperfections. I've never made a hat before and I didn't have any sort of pattern. So this beauty was made from brain power and the fact that Teagan's head is 20in around.

Did I mention that it's reversible?

I got enough fabric to make 2 hats because I figured the first one wouldn't be too teribly perfect, I learned SO much in making this one and I'm excited to try again.

Check out these luscious lips ( I told him to kiss the camera) haha!

Funnies

So Zac was in charge of our family home evening lesson tonight. It was about going to church and spending time with family on Sundays. (We just follow the nursery manual our church puts out).

I was trying to get Teagan to put away some of his toys and Zac said, "Oh! This will be perfect for the lesson." He walks back into teagan's room and brings out some other toys and the container they all go in...(note: I'm very puzzled at this point)...as he sets the toys down in the living room he says, "I don't know why they want us to do a gathering activity when the lesson is about church, but I guess we'll just follow it."

Me: uh, I think you might be having a amelia bedilia moment
Zac: what do you mean?
Me: I think that the lesson manual suggest a "gathering activity" to get the group together. Like a song or something...
Zac: ohhhhh
Me: couldn't stop laughing for quite a while, still laughing.

For some reason this just hit my little funny bone, I haven't laughed this hard in a while. I love having a hubby that can make me laugh!

PS: Teagan thought the gathering activity was really great, I must be out of the loop!

Family Pictures.

We went and got family pictures taken at JC Penny on Saturday. We got a really good deal, but a not as good photographer. Maybe me and Zac just lack creativity, but he kept asking us how to pose, which we're clueless about. And he couldn't make Teagan smile good...of course when me and Zac were behind the camera guy being crazy we got a fantastic picture of him. I love this picture, he is just the handsomest little man ever!

Can you believe that my hair is brown? I really want to go back to bleaching it again! Only one more year! I really like this one.

Afterwards, Teagan and Zac went on a crazy roller coaster, they were so brave!

That afternoon we had a big ole' BBQ with some friends. We can't stop talking about how much fun we had. I think my favorite part was that there were 4 toddlers, 3 of which were crazy fun boys, the other was an adorable little girl who was wise to steer clear of this wild crew! The dad's took turns being crazy with the boys. This video captures Teagan's favorite activity of the night:

Beach in November? Yes please!

So I decided to start working out again this week so we went for a run at the beach. There is a great walkway that goes right next to the sand and it is SO perfect! I came prepared with sweat shirts, blankets and socks because I figured it would be freezing. The beach is usually MUCH cooler than where we live, especially in the mornings. We got out of the car at 9 or so and it was perfectly warm and delightful! Luckily I also came equipped with hot weather items.

We hadn't been to the beach in a few months and I forgot how much we love it there. We've lost all our sand toys except the bucket so I just grab random kitchen stuff for him to play with; measuring cups, serving spoons, straws, funnels....

He was cautious at first and very careful with the sand. Then crazy Teagan came out and discovered the excitement of throwing sand. PS, this movie is kind of boring, I just love the soothing sound of the ocean.

He thought it was funny to throw sand into his own face so he tried throwing it in mine and laughed hysterically....then he cried when I replied that we were going to go home right then. He did get fries on the way home and he fell asleep midfry...

It was so fun, we've got to go at least a few more times before it really cools down...anyone up for a beach trip?

HALLOWEEEEEN!

This is a post of all of our Halloweeny type festivities...

We carved pumpkins. Teagan wouldn't touch the pumpkin guts and seeds but he was extremely excited about cutting out the face!

Then we cleaned up and I cut the boy's hair...it is SO short, but I really like it. (Look in the last picture at how shaggy they were....well mostly Zac)

I showed Teagan his trick or treat bucket and he was playing with it while I tutored. He started yelling for me and walked into the kitchen like this. hehehe! He is such a character.

He wore his Halloween shirt and light up bat socks a lot this week....they seemed to be in every load of darks!

Finally Halloween arrived and he was Curious George!!! Notice how extremely large his suit is? I got it at Old Navy like a month ago and didn't realize that the top was 2T-3T and the bottom was 12-24 months. We noticed this a few days before Halloween and by that time Old Navy was all out of that size so we had to get a 4T-5T. At least he can use it next year!

Here he is with the man with the yellow hat.

My mom came into town which was so fun, I can't believe I don't have any pictures of her! She was there to take a family photo. I am dressed as a girl wearing really cool pants.

We went to the Trunk or Treat at our church and I was shocked that Teagan didn't win the costume contest!

We now have tons of candy that we can't eat because it's Fast Sunday, it's probably better this way! We had such a fun time, Teagan fell asleep on the way home even though he was full of sugar and we put him in bed in his costume. He slept for 12 hours! (we changed him when we went to bed). I was stoked!
