We went on a family vacation to Santa Clara, Utah, right outside of St. George. It was amazing. The weather was so perfect and the house we stayed at was awesome. It was in a complex with pickle ball courts and 2 huge pool areas with a lazy river and water slides. We went on incredible hikes and bike rides in the mornings and then came back and played in the pool all afternoon.
We are lacking in pictures of the pool, but we spent so much time swimming and enjoying our time there. The kids were swimming as often as we would let them!
We quickly realized that there are a ton of hills in St. George! We arrived and our house wasn't ready yet so we parked at a grocery store and unloaded the bikes and took off on a bike ride. It was so fun, and so downhill. There were a few uphills too and those about killed us. By the time we got to the end Zac and I realized that we were in serious trouble. There was no way we were going to make it back up that huge hill to our car. We didn't know where we were but we just saved the worry for later and explored the fun park we had arrived at.
There was a BMX trail that Teagan loved! I tried on my beach cruiser and it was terrifying. I couldn't see anything because of my huge basket and I abandoned ship right away. While we were there we made friends with another family. We started sharing stories and he found out about our predicament with the hill. He was oh so kind and gave Zac a ride to our van so we didn't have to ride back up the hill. It was an awesome adventure!
We went and visited an awesome waterfall that is only running early in the spring. We happened to catch it and it was seriously incredible! It was a little scary hiking around the big rocks with the kids, but they are little mountain goats and loved every second!
We went to Snow Canyon and did several hikes. The Petrified Dunes was probably our favorite, we explored the red rock for hours! Grandma and Grandpa Daniels were in St. George at the same time so they came hiking with us one day and that was a lot of fun.
On our last day in Snow Canyon we tried another big bike ride, but after about a mile it turned into a dirt road. We turned around and ended up at amazing sand dunes. It was so much fun! The kids love playing in the sand! A crazy thunder storm rolled in and we raced back on our bikes to get to the car before the rain hit. We almost made it, but Dad and I ended up loading up in the rain. And with that, our trip was over and we started the long drive home. We had so much fun and hope to go back soon!
