Technology Preview Features - Scope of Support

Technology Preview releases, features, and components are exempt from Red Hat’s standard vulnerability management processes. This exemption applies only to the Technology Preview functionality itself; it does not exclude vulnerabilities whose impact extends to supported product functionality. Vulnerability management remains applicable when Technology Preview functionality is enabled by default or cannot be effectively disabled or isolated from a supported component, including functionality integrated into the kernel. Product Security prerequisites remain mandatory throughout the Technology Preview phase, including completing required prerequisite work such as maintaining component manifests.

During the development of a Technology Preview feature, Red Hat may make additional components available for public testing. Because Technology Preview features are still under development, Red Hat cannot guarantee their stability. If you use a Technology Preview feature, you might not be able to upgrade seamlessly to a subsequent release of that feature.

Although Red Hat might intend to support a Technology Preview feature fully in a future release, the feature might not meet Red Hat’s standards for enterprise viability. Therefore, Red Hat cannot guarantee that a Technology Preview feature will become generally available or supported. Some Technology Preview features might also be available only on specific hardware architectures.

Customers can open support cases for Technology Preview features only at Severity 3 or 4. Red Hat Global Support Services may create bug reports from cases submitted by subscribed customers and forward those reports to Red Hat Engineering for possible inclusion in a future release.

NOTE: Customers exploring Technology Preview content must accept that there may not be any migration path from the Technology Preview to General Availability (GA) release installations. A full installation of the GA version may be required and any customer data may be need to be migrated or may be lost.
