30 Places We've Been

30 Places We've Been
in no particular order:

1. Jake and Danielle's wedding.
The first of at least four (five if my brother ever finds The One) sibling weddings. Really, this was just an excuse to post really cute pictures of Austin.

2. Lawson Gardens.
I love going here. It's beautiful and the photo opportunities are endless.

3. Lake Chelan
We've been a couple times with his family In a couple different stages of our family. Once with no kids at about our 1 year mark, and again when Austin was about to turn three and I was about 7 months pregnant with Sam.

4. Pullman
Our current hometown. This is where Zach grew up and I went to college. I fell in love with Pullman the second I stepped onto WSU's campus way back in 1995 and it has only grown more special.

This is the third house we lived in since we were married.
And this is our fourth and current:

5. Dworshak
We went camping for our first anniversary. During a national heat wave. It sucked. We ended up spending our last dime to get a hotel room the second night and woke up to a dead battery in Em's truck the next morning. Fun stuff.

 6. Sun Valley
This was a family reunion on the Adams side. We had only been married about a year and it was a great opportunity to get to know a lot of his aunts, uncles, and cousins. And the place we were staying was right next to this cool sign. (this photo is looking funny in blogger, hopefully it gets fixed when I hit publish.)

7. White Water Rafting
This was at Sun Valley and the girls (Hannah and Marie) thought our guide looked like Jack Sparrow. I would agree with the grungy/dreads part.

8. McCall
This is where Zach drifted Austin (5 months old) on the ice rink.

 9. Winlock
We lived in Winlock for the first year of our marriage and got to be pretty good friends with the Popes. Zach is giving Calyx a ride on their quad in this photo. Calyx loved Zach and I made her cry once by telling her he was MY Zach. (Usually it was a game we played, but we happened to be visiting from Pullman and were about to leave on this particular occasion.)

Our beloved Egg Day Parade. Yeah, we're cool like that. (I still don't know why Zach married me.)

This is a picture of Zach in my parent's field.

10. The airport
This one happens to be in Spokane. It was the first time we tried to go to Peru. We have since been in EIGHT more different airports for a total of 11 stops on our second, successful, trip to Peru. (And we weren't in the Spokane one the second trip.) Portland-LA-Lima-Juliaca-Cusco-Lima-San Salvador-Costa Rica-Guatemala-LA-Portland Whew!

 11. The Path Downtown
You know the one. With the bridge by Taco Del Mar that goes behind Baskin Robbins? Yeah. That one. We love to go get ice cream and walk that path with the boys.

 12. Golfing
This is one hobby that I have taken up since Zach and I got married. Ok, I've only been about 4 times. But I would like to go more.

This one totally looks like I'm watching my shot, but based on where I'm standing, I can't be. hmmm

 13. The beach
I have always loved the beach. Growing up a couple hours from Seaside made it an easy day trip. Maybe someday we'll be that close again. We've been to Seaside, Cannon, and Lincoln at least. I'm sure there may have been another one in there too. This is almost a necessity any time we visit my parents in the summer.

14. The Portland Zoo
Another favorite when we visit my parents.

15. Granite Point
This was a gift from my brother for my 30th birthday. It's a campsite (with cabins) on Loon Lake north of Spokane. I loved the fog on the water in the morning and this little cloud was forming as the fog lifted. It was pretty cool to watch.

16. The fair
We go every year. I grew up loving the fair. And while the Palouse Empire Fair isn't as big as the SWW or the Puyallup, it'll do. Especially sincec it falls on or near my birthday every year.

17. The Rodeo
Along with the fair is the rodeo. Yes, it's free with fair admission, but I'm giving it it's own number. I've "Cowboyed Down" a lot since marrying Zach (I'm not nearly the hick I used to be.) but I still love the rodeo.
I had to throw in a picture of Austin and his best bud Max.

18. The Turkey Bowl
We go every year. I may have "missed" (not really missed if ya know what I mean) a year or two, but Zach looks forward to it all year long. I hope our boys enjoy it as much when they get a little older.

19. Monster Jam
Austin used to be really into Monster Jam so we took him to a show in Tacoma, complete with the Party in the Pits. He seemed to really enjoy it until he fell asleep in my lap part way through. Afterwards, he wouldn't take his ear muffs off until we were outside the arena. (He has always hated noises.)

 20. Silverwood
We've been here twice together. Once when I was pregnant with Sam. That was a fun one. I wasn't able to go on any of the rides, and in fact, an adult had to accompany Austin on the kiddie coaster and I was too fat to ride the ride (Ok, too pregnant, I was HUGE!) so I had to yell for Jane to come take my spot.

21. Calaveras County
I can't remember the actual name of the place (resort or city) where we stayed but It was HOT and there was nothing to do. We swam quite a bit, but I'm not a big water person, unfortunately. We had limited mileage on our rental car so we were able to venture to San Fran once.

22. San Francisco
For some reason, I can't find our pictures from San Francisco, but while we missed Alcatraz and Lombard St, we did get the aquarium, the bay with the sea lions, and the Golden Gate Bridge (#23) We'll be going back for the others sometime.

24. Snowboarding
Skiing/snowboarding is one of those things I really really really want to like, but I just can't. I've tried a few times thinking I should love it, I mean what's not to like? But I just can't get into it. At least I had a hunky instructor, I did well, and we had fun at the lodge.

25. Klemgard
This is one of our favorite parks to go to hike, picnic and play.

26. Cougar Games
We love our Cougars! We go to as many football and basketball games as we can. (I just wish Zach was into baseball too so we could go to those together too.)

27. PERU!!!
This is obviously my favorite place we have been and I'm giving it several numbers in my list. I have always wanted to be a world traveler but have never been out of the country (no, not even Canada) until now. I can't wait to go again.

28. Lago Titicaca
This photo is from Los Uros, the reed islands. It was so cool to learn about how these people lived and how they made their islands (very agricultural, right up my alley). We also went to Taquile Island, the highest point of our trip at 12,000 feet!

29. Machu Picchu
We loved the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. If we ever go back, we will spend much more time in this area!

30. Waynapicchu
This was by far my favorite spot of my favorite trip! The hike was difficult but well worth the effort! We all felt such a sense of accomplishment when we reached the top. Austin loves to hike and I would LOVE to bring him here when he gets older. These two photos are just below the top at a look out type area. Machu Picchu is just to the left of Zach in the first and kind of behind me and to the right in the second.

I hope in the next 30 years we have 30 more amazing places in out log book.
