My Creative Scrapbook February 2026 Main Kit

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you're having a great day! If you're looking for a great way to treat yourself I hope you consider trying a subscription to one of the My Creative Scrapbook monthly kits. They select the pattern papers and lots of coordinating supplies and deliver it straight to your front door so all you have to focus on is MAKING! Every month they have several kits to choose from.. their Main Kit, LE - Limited Edition, Creative Kit and Album Kit - so you can choose what's right for you!
This time I'm playing with the Main Kit that includes 12" papers and embellishments from Simple Stories "Take Note" Collection. You'll also find die cuts, stickers, stencil and lots more! Everything is hand selected with care and perfectly coordinated to work together and shipped directly to your door!
I'm totally a "brights" gal so I gotta tell you I'm smitten with the kit this month. I love being surprised every month, and I haven't had a kit yet that I didn't like, but I mean... seriously!? This month has my name all over it!
This kit has bright colors, fun fonts, flowers, hearts, cameras, butterflies and lots of desktop items like pencils, clipboards, paperclips, stamps, etc. Most of us are trying to get more organized in the new year purchasing calendars and making resolutions. This kit makes me feel the way a new planner and a pack of colored pens does - HAPPY!
I always start the same way. I trim the 3x4" and any Ephemera cards and set them to the side. 12" papers are cut to 6" squares and placed half face up and half face down so I can see all the prints. Next I put baby powder on stickers to turn them into die cut pieces. Next I arrange them by category.. just as an example, flowers are in one pile, sentiments in another. Finally I get to work arranging the pieces on clear plastic the size of my card base. I arrange and rearrange until I'm happy. To get a "sneak peek" of the finished design I slip different pattern papers under the clear plastic.
I like to use the 3x4" journaling cards and journaling bits sheet to create focal points for my designs. I don't limit myself to whatever sentiment is printed on them, it's easy to cover them with images or perhaps a larger sentiment.. it's all up to you!
Everything you see on my cards is included in the kit EXCEPT for the white cardstock card bases, solid cardstock cover matts, adhesives and gems. Things that you already probably have in your stash right now.
You'll have fun making cards or documenting memories with this kit. No matter what your style too. I love to make scene cards, but collage, mixed media, clean and simple, layered..... whatever your style you make this kit yours!
I invite you to join one of their monthly kit clubs and experience the possibilities that their coordinated kits offer. With plenty of innovative materials and ideas to jump start your imagination, preserving your memories and making cards will be effortless and enjoyable. You can see all of the different kits available this month here at My Creative Scrapbook.

Beautiful Day

Today I'm playing at the Mix It Up Challenge blog! This month is Anything Goes with an optional CAS (Clean and Simple) so no excuses for not playing!
I love the simplicity of this design. I used the Postage Collage Coloring Stencil from Waffle Flower to create a simple Distress Ink blended background for each window.
Next I stamped images with Versafine Onyx Black using the Postage Collage Sunset Lake stamp set. The black ink creates silhouettes of the stamped images of marsh and waterfowl.

Finally I covered the images with the Postage Collage Blocks die cut frame cut from white cardstock. I stamped a simple sentiment directly on the frame and added a pierced solid aqua blue cardstock panel behind the windows to add a little more color.
This one has me wanting to take a walk at the local forest preserve to see what I can see! Have a great day!

Waffle Flower August Release Day 3 Sneak Peeks

It's Day 3 of the sneak peeks of the latest Waffle Flower Release. We're calling this release Summer Afternoon because it includes a mix of style from fluttering butterflies to tropical blooms!
My cards always start the same way.. I arrange the different elements on a panel of clear plastic the size of my card base. This helps me get a preview of my card before I adhere everything in place.

I cut the Hibiscus branch three times, each has a different shade of green leaves to add some depth to the design. Next I cut lots of little Hibiscus flowers in citrus shades. The three layer flowers are easy to assemble and come in two sizes.
I added a "hello" Script Greeting and added a Subsentiment from the Aloha set.
The background is the new Quatrefoil panel - it's that white outline die layered over a plain sky blue cardstock panel.
If you'd like to see more makes with this new release you can head on over to Instagram and search #SummerAfternoonWFC

I hope you'll stop by tomorrow when we'll be celebrating the release being available in the store with lots of giveaways that you won't want to miss.

My Creative Scrapbook July 2025 Main Kit

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you're having a great day! If you're looking for a great way to treat yourself I hope you consider trying a subscription to one of the My Creative Scrapbook monthly kits. They select the pattern papers and lots of coordinating supplies and deliver it straight to your front door so all you have to focus on is MAKING! Every month they have several kits to choose from.. their Main Kit, LE - Limited Edition, Creative Kit and Album Kit - so you can choose what's right for you!

This time I'm playing with the Main Kit that includes 12" papers and embellishments from Vicki Boutin "Cut & Paste" Collection as well as a few others to surprise you. You'll also find die cuts, stickers, chipboard, and lots more! Everything is perfectly coordinated to work together and shipped directly to your door!
This collection just screams Summer! The colors are bright and bold - think primary colors with added details in black for just the right amount of drama and contrast.

The kit has lots of different elements that I like to pair together. The animals, trees and clouds make great scene cards. A simple wave cut from green pattern paper becomes a hilly landscape, and blue print a sky.

Don't have a sun? Improvise like I did with a yellow flower! Sky doesn't need to be blue and grass doesn't need to be green.. use your imagination and see the world in your own unique way!
As a card maker I always start by cutting the papers down to 6x6" square that are more manageable for me. I like to keep the decorative edge attached (see the hearts on top of the stripes above as an example) whenever possible so I can use it on my designs. It looks like I coordinated it, but it was printed this way! The trim also makes great faux washi!

I like to use journaling cards and scraps of paper to make focal points so the die cut designs don't fade into the background when the patterns get busy.

I arrange the images on clear plastic sheets the size of my card front. This gives me a preview of what the finished card will look like before I commit and adhere everything in place. I can also slide pattern paper under the arrangement to see if my choices work well together.

The kit includes everything you need to make these cards. The only items I added were the card bases, solid cardstock papers, and adhesives. This time my kit included some sequins and buttons too that you'll see scattered throughout my designs.
The bright colorful designs in this kit are a feast for the eyes, but my favorite part was not having to go shopping. My Creative Scrapbook selects and assembles all the items and ships them straight to my door so all I need to do is make!

Thinking of You

Today I'm playing along at Freshly Made Sketches where this is the sketch this time!
This one is easy peasy so no excuses! The oval can be changed to any shape and makes the perfect focal point for any card design.
I took a Swirly Foilable panel from Pink and Main, ran it through my laminator with colorful Vintage Pink Cheerfoil. Next I inked the panel with Spun Sugar Distress Ink and then cut an oval in the center.
I used the oval to create a focal point for the Critters with Flowers deer and to double as a shaker.
I deviated from the sketch a bit, adding the sentiment over the oval instead of under the oval, but it seemed to look better at the top to me.
I hope you find some time to play along!
