Last month I used the wonderful Rachel from Rachel’s Random Resources, who specialises in promoting writers by highlighting their work to literary bloggers. I wanted to thank all the reviewers for their time and effort in reading and their thoughts on my work. I would totally recommend all their websites too.
Tomes and Tales – “Raphael’s eclectic endeavor is in equal parts humorous and quirky, suspense-filled and heartwarming, philosophical and disturbing – every story striking a chord and lingering long after it has been read.”
Tizi’s Book Review – “Every story has its charm… The author managed to put so much in such short space yet never disappointed in leaving too many open endings or leaving the reader with many questions!”
Northern Reader – “…they vary in style and content so much they elegantly demonstrate the versatility of Alexander Raphael as a writer…This is a lovely book of stories for reading and thought. They do not always go in the way that is expected, and are the stronger for that.”
Nicki’s Life of Crime – This enthralling book consists of a collection of seven short stories whose plots cover a wide range of genres, relatable life experiences, issues, emotions and interactions… A enjoyable, entertaining read that is perfect for curling up with in your favourite reading chair and losing yourself for a few hours.”
Book Shortie – The final story The Magic of Christmas is a heartwarming story of a young boy who comes to Santa’s rescue. I loved this story and it definitely made me wish it was Christmas already… This was definitely a book I thoroughly enjoyed.”
Bookworm_Lindsay – “My favourite is Lies and Secrets, and I found the background notes on each story very interesting – it is great to have that insight from the author. I’ll definitely be reading more by Alexander Raphael.”
Jae.Rae.Reads – “I really liked these stories and even though they were easy to digest in short settings they also kept me thinking about them long after I finished…I loved that each story you could read completely separate from the others.”
Duckfacekim09 – “I couldn’t see much of a link between these stories (not that this mattered to me) but then I read the back of the book and got it…These were great stories. .. I really liked the cover too. You notice more the more you look at it.”
Rozierreadsandwine – “This short story collection has 7 short stories with some very memorable main characters and covers a wide variety of subjects…I enjoyed all of the stories.”
Curled Up with a Good Book – “These range in length and genre so there is definitely something for everyone. There are some unexpected twists, and surprise endings. My favourite stories were definitely Motive, Murder, Method and, of course, The Magic of Christmas!”
Plumbobmommy – “…they are so well written that I quickly got immersed into each story line. Each story is very different. They can be creepy and thrilling, humourous and even heartfelt at times…I would definitely recommend this and I am eager to read more by this talented author.
Booklymatters – With a story-telling style (and hints of magic) reminiscent of Ray Bradbury, and populated by darkly flat-affect characters straight out of Patricia Highsmith, this set of short stories is interesting, unusual and intriguingly compelling.
The Photographer’s Way – “An easy to read selection, the book contains a range of ideas which the author explores in some detail. There is a consistency of tone throughout the pages, making the pace relatively steady throughout.”
Girls_who_hike_and_read – “I enjoyed this wonderful collection of short stories. There are 7 in total, each very different but wonderfully written and engaging. I really enjoyed each of them.”
Sophiethebookworm – “..there is something that will suit everyone’s reading likes, stories that will have you on the edge of your seat, stories that have twists and turns , stories that are funny, weird and disturbing.”
Broken Geek – “The Prankster was my favourite because so much was conveyed in the prankster’s actions which belied what he thought about himself. As a character study I found it really illuminating…his collection has a lot of content that could provide hours of debate and discussion.”
The Divine Write – a brilliant addition to my library… Not only do you come across numerous different characters within the various stories but the author shows his range but writing many varied genres…a perfect read and I highly recommend it to everyone.”
Mickysbookworm – What a lovely collection of short stories. From Christmas and Santa to revenge for a lost loved one these stories had it all. Such a quick and easy read I really enjoyed it.
My thanks to Lisa Loves Literature, Ellsea Loves Reading and B for Bookreview for promoting book too.
