Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner in the thought-provoking science fiction film Arrival (2016). Based on the short story “Story of Your Life” by Ted Chiang, it tells of a linguistic professor who who is in charge of communicating with beings who have landed from another planet.
2016 will always be remembered as a politically volatile year and one which included all kinds of tragic deaths in the world of entertainment. George Michael, Carrie Fisher, Alan Rickman, Prince and David Bowie were among the many creative talents that passed far too soon. There were also another new set of films, with superhero blockbusters, friendly animation and comedies among them. How many of the 15 (in no particular order) do you know? After seeing the magnificent Arrival film, I was inspired to do a quiz on other films about extra terrestrial forms of life. There really are far more than you might think.
