I’d usually pick one character for the eight quotes, but the self-confessed best friends of Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and her daughter Rory (Alexis Bledel) really is the heartbeat of The Gilmore Girls. Set in the fictional Stars Hollow, Connecticut and with all kinds of wonderfully eccentric town inhabitants, The Gilmore Girls was a smash hit comedy drama.
Rory: “I need my mommy and I don’t care who knows it.”
Lorelai: “If you’re going to throw your life away, he better have a motorcycle.”
Rory: “One of those moments when everything is so perfect and so wonderful that… you almost feel sad because nothing could ever be this good again.”
Lorelai: “There have been very few moments in my life where I have actually wished I had one of those enormous crème pies you can just smash in somebody’s face. But this is definitely one of them.”
Rory: “I really do hate everyone today, including myself.”
Lorelai: “I’m afraid once your heart is involved, it all comes out in moron.”
Rory: “I live in two worlds — one is a world of books.”
Rory: “’My God, I hate her.’
Lorelai: ‘Me too.’
Rory: You have no idea who I’m talking about.’
Lorelai: ‘Solidarity.’”
