A Refuge to Run To

Our Daily Pain

Matthew 4:4: Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. ‘”

Prayer:

Abba Father God, You are so good to me! I don’t have to look very far to see evidence of Your goodness in my life. Even in hard situations, You show Yourself faithful, just ever-present, and trustworthy. I have seen that You are good because I have cried out to You for help, and You have saved me. Blessed be Your name! In Jesus’ name, Amen.🙏❤

John 6:35 Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.

Jesus replied, “I tell you for certain that you must be born from above before you can see God’s kingdom!”
Then everyone who has faith in the Son of Man will have eternal life. God loved the people of this world so much that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who has faith in Him will have eternal life and never really die.  God did not send His Son into the world to condemn its people. He sent Him to save them!
(John 3:3;15-17 CEV)

So you will be saved, if you honestly say, “Jesus is Lord,” and if you believe with all your heart that God raised him from death. (Romans 10:9 CEV)

THANK GOD. Christ Brings Real-Life

You have accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord. Now keep on following Him.  Plant your roots in Christ and let Him be the foundation for your life. Be strong in your faith, just as you were taught. And be grateful.
(Colossians 2:6-7 CEV)

My friends, I pray that the Lord Jesus Christ will be kind to you! (Galatians 6:18 CEV)

Finally, let the mighty strength of the Lord make you strong. (Ephesians 6:10 CEV)

In Jesus’ Name, Amen!

God Bless You

Friends, be glad, even if you have a lot of trouble.  You know you learn to endure by having your faith tested.  But you must learn to endure everything, so you will be completely mature and not lacking in anything. (James 1:2-4)

We are living in uncertain times. Everything we value feels unstable. King David faced similar uncertainty when he fled to Gath after King Saul tried to kill him. Despite his fear, he praised God for His greatness in a Psalm. In the Psalm, David said, “I will praise the Lord at all times; I will constantly speak his praises.” Worshiping God helped David see that even though his circumstances changed, God remained powerful and ever-present. David sought the Lord, and he answered. God delivered him from all his fears. God rescued David from his enemies and provided for His people in hard times.

Reflect on the ways God has been faithful to you. Even if praise doesn’t come easy to you, you can read through Psalm 34 and let its words become your personal prayer. God is still doing great things in our world. He listens to the cries of His people, is present in our pain, and is at work in our uncertainty. When nothing in life makes sense, you can still run to Him and find refuge.

Planning Ahead and Surrendering

Our Daily Pain

Matthew 4:4: Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. ‘”

Prayer:

Abba Father God, at times, it’s challenging to fully surrender my life to You. I recognize my mistake in believing that my plans surpass Yours in wisdom. I acknowledge that Your purpose for my life transcends my understanding, and I desire to relinquish all control to You. I humbly invite You to be an integral part of my decision-making processes. I place my complete trust in Your guidance and wisdom to direct every aspect of my life. In the powerful name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.”🙏❤

Think about your upcoming plans for the day, week, year, and beyond.

Maybe you want to start a business.
Maybe you want to raise a family.
Maybe you want to write a book.
Maybe you want to travel the world.
Maybe you want to start a ministry.
Maybe you want to volunteer in your city.
Maybe you want to plant a garden.
Maybe you want to pay off debt.

The Bible tells us that although we should make plans for the future, we should also be flexible because God knows what is best for us. Even when things don’t go as we hoped, God always has our best interests at heart. Jesus showed us this by giving up his own plans for us. Today, make a list of your plans and dreams, then ask God to guide you in the right direction.

Remember this: When you walk with a friend, you have to keep up with each other. If one of you goes too fast or too slow, you’re not walking together anymore. It’s the same when you walk with God. The Apostle Paul said: “Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.” – Galatians 5:25 NIV When we trust in Jesus as our Savior, we’re given the gift of grace and the Holy Spirit. To put it simply, the Holy Spirit is God. We are given God! The Holy Spirit leads, guides, and works in and through us. There are times when we’re tempted to go ahead of the Spirit, because He’s not always moving as quickly as we’d like. We might question if He’s moving or if He cares. That’s why walking with God requires trust. There are other times when we’re tempted to fall behind the Spirit, because He might be guiding us somewhere that makes us uncomfortable. It takes effort, intention, and both physical and emotional strength. That’s why walking with God requires courage. We can keep in step with the Spirit by staying close to Him—paying attention, talking to Him, reading His Word, and being with those who love Him. When we’re committed to staying close to Him, one thing is certain: The Holy Spirit will guide you—every step of the way.

Envision holding two seeds in your hand, and you can only plant one. One seed grows easily, but it yields unattractive and undesirable fruit. The other seed requires time and consistent care, but it produces beautiful and delicious fruit. Which seed would you choose to plant, nurture, and grow?
In Galatians 5, the apostle Paul discusses two kinds of fruit our lives can bear: the fruit of the flesh and the fruit of the Spirit. “The flesh” refers to our desires that lead us away from God’s Holy Spirit. These desires result in hate, impatience, bitterness, selfishness, rudeness, chaos, and self-indulgence—traits that are incompatible with God. However, when we dedicate our lives to Jesus, He blesses us with His Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit empowers us to “crucify” the desires of our flesh and put them to an end. By crucifying these desires, we make space for the Holy Spirit to produce fruit in us that leads to positive transformation in our lives.

“The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” Galatians 5:22-23 NIV

Our flesh may prompt us to seek retribution, but the Spirit urges us to show kindness. Our flesh may tempt us with sinful thoughts, but the Spirit guides us to exercise self-control. Our flesh may try to dictate our emotional responses, but the Spirit encourages us to embrace joy and peace. The Fruit of the Spirit demonstrates that we are actively pursuing God and rejecting disobedience.
Take a moment to contemplate your life. What kind of fruit is it yielding? Are you experiencing love, joy, peace, patience, and kindness, or are there areas of bitterness, anger, jealousy, and self-indulgence in your life? What changes do you need to make to “crucify” beliefs and attitudes that are drawing you away from God? Allow the Holy Spirit to reveal to you what needs to be removed, and then let Him transform your attitudes, actions, and desires.

The Fruit The Spirit Produces

Our Daily Pain

Matthew 4:4: Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. ‘”

Prayer:

Abba Father God, from Your love we can experience the fruit of Your Spirit. These fruits are a natural outpouring of knowing You and Your love. Help us to be more joyful, peaceful, patient, kind, good, and faithful. Deepen our relationship with You so that Your fruit becomes a natural part of our lives. In Jesus’ name, Amen..🙏❤

Just like an apple tree produces apples and a vineyard produces grapes, as Christians, we are also supposed to demonstrate certain qualities in our lives.

Paul outlines nine character traits that should be evident in someone’s life if they are following God’s ways. They are Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control.

Similar to how the fruit of a tree is not for the tree itself but for others, the fruit of the Spirit in a Christian’s life is meant for others, not just for themselves. We are to love one another, have joy in one another, have peace with one another, and be kind to one another.

The fruit of the spirit is meant to be cultivated and shared within a Christian community rather than in isolation. We were made for a relationship with God and others.

Take a look at the list of qualities the spirit fosters in a Christian’s life. Be honest and ask yourself: which quality am I not demonstrating, and why am I not showing it? Take note of a few small steps you can take to grow closer to God in those areas of your life and demonstrate these qualities more.❤️❤️❤️

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is a consuming fire.” (Hebrews 12:28-29)

The word “Pure” means clean or blameless, free from corruption or contamination, purified by fire, or unstained by guilt. None of us can truly be pure despite our best efforts.

Before Jesus came, the highest-ranking Levitical priests were responsible for serving and meditating in the holiest places where God’s presence dwelled on earth. Even they had to be purified repeatedly.

Now, because of Jesus’ ultimate sacrifice on the cross, He has made a way for us. His blood covered our sins, and when we accept the sacrifice, He makes us pure. Now and forever, we can “come boldly to the throne of our gracious God,” where we can find mercy and grace when we need it most (Hebrews 4:16). Now, our bodies are the modern-day temples where God’s spirit has chosen to dwell.

Being pure of heart is not about being perfect; it is about trusting in Jesus to purify our souls. As Isaiah once prophesied: “Come now, let’s settle this,” says the LORD. “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool.”

Have you been made pure by trusting in Jesus? Today can be your day. By believing and trusting in Him, you become a new creation, pure and blameless through faith. He paid the price for you to be made pure. Do you receive it?❤️❤️❤️

What goes into your soul and mind affects what you say and do. Your choices, even if not obvious now, will impact your life in the long run. So, how can we care for our inner selves?
Our bodies were made by God, so what they need most is God. Praying, reading the Bible, reflecting on God’s blessings, and inviting the Holy Spirit to guide us throughout the day are some of the best things we can do for ourselves.
The best way to protect our hearts is by giving them to God. When we make God the center of our lives and the source of our strength, our actions will reflect Him.
Instead of trying to fit God into our daily routines, let’s build our daily routines around our relationship with God. Let’s create space for God to speak to us and restore us.

By allowing God to heal the broken parts of our lives, we can ensure that what comes out of us is God-honoring, encouraging, and reflective of the goodness we’ve allowed into our hearts. ❤️❤️❤️

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is a consuming fire.” (Hebrews 12:28-29)

‘Everything is meaningless.” (Ecclesiastes 1:2)
“Everything is wearisome, beyond description” (Ecclesiastes 1:8)
“There is nothing new under the sun.” (Ecclesiastes 1:9)”I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.”(Ecclesiastes 1:14)

We can chase after everything this world has to offer and it might bring temporary pleasure. But in the end, pursuing those things apart from God will always leave us empty.
The great news is there’s a God in heaven who created and loves us, and He understands what we need. He knows that life is best when we follow His design for life. He is worthy of our awe and honor and our worship.

So fear God and keep His commandments. Love Him with everything in you and love your neighbor as yourself. That is the point. Only then will life no longer be meaningless.❤️❤️❤️

How Can I Help?

Our Daily Pain

Matthew 4:4: Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. ‘”

Prayer:

Abba Father God, thank You for giving me opportunities to do good to others every day. Help me to act on those opportunities when I don’t feel like it, give me the endurance to serve, the strength to always be kind, and the courage to pray bold prayers on behalf of others. Make me more like You each day.

The lions may grow weak and hungry,

Serving and helping others is a form of love. When we take the time to help someone, we allow them to experience Jesus’s love through us. Doing good for someone opens the door to conversations about the love Jesus has for them.

Take some time to think about a few people in your life that you can help. Maybe it’s letting someone know you’re thinking of them perhaps it’s helping someone with a need they have. In any case, be on the lookout for ways to do good to all people as you go about your day.❤️❤️❤️

The Price Of Following Jesus

Our Daily Pain

Matthew 4:4: Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. ‘”

Prayer:

Abba Father God, please show me what in my life I’m withholding from You. I want to live fully surrendered, Teach me how to prioritize following You and loving others. No matter how difficult, I want to daily deny my self-focused desires and seek you first. In Jesus’ name, Amen.🙏❤

John 6:35 Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.

Taking up one’s cross isn’t easy, but there is nothing in this life that is better than following Jesus. While immediate pleasure often feels more desirable at the moment, it quickly fades and leaves us searching for more. No possessions or position can lead to true satisfaction in life that is found only in Jesus.

Take a moment to think about your life.
Are there things that you’re holding onto that you would be hesitant to surrender to Jesus? Are there relationships that serve your own desires rather than God’s? Commit to followig Jesus regardless of how difficult or challenging life might become. The corss while painful is temporary. Abundant life with Jesus is eternal..

Be The Example

Our Daily Pain

Forgiven and Free

Our Daily Pain

Matthew 4:4: Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. ‘”

Prayer:

Abba Father God, thank You for having mercy on us.
Thank You for choosing to save us through the gift of Your Son, even though we did nothing to deserve it. Every good gift that we have is because of You.
So today, remind me of Your gift of salvation and give me the boldness to tell others about Your amazing love. In Jesus’s name, Amen. 🙏❤

John 6:35 Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.

While it is true that Jesus exposes the darkness of this world (John 3:19), anyone who believes in Jesus and follows Him will experience His salvation and all that God has to offer.
If we choose to follow the ways of this world rather than Jesus, then our actions and thoughts will lead us to condemnation and death.

But if we follow Jesus and believe in his Word, we will experience eternal life in our relationship with God.
Spend some time thanking God for His gift of eternal life that He has given you for free. Continue to walk in the light of Jesus, knowing that you are no longer condemned but forgiven and free.

Read Psalm 139
Even there and everywhere, God is always present to lead, guide, strengthen, and support.
Even if we try to avoid God or run from His calling in our lives, He is patient in pursuing, correcting, and directing us.
One thing is certain, He, will never leave us.
“…even there, your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me.”
So wherever you find yourself today, know that you’re not alone. You’re not stuck. You’re not without someone who cares and who’s able to save. Thank God, there’s no escaping His presence. ❤️❤️❤️

Matthew 4:4: Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. ‘”

Forgive me for all the times I have selfishly rejected You, and please show me how to live a life that honors You. In Jesus’s name, Amen. 🙏❤

John 3:16 says, ” “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
God has given us access to a gift we do not deserve, a gift that is available when we choose to love God and receive His relentless, sacrificial love for us.

The resurrection reassures us that no situation or mistake is impossible for God to redeem. There is no fear that Jesus cannot conquer nor life, that He cannot heal.
No darkness can stand against the power of the risen God who conquered death on our behalf.
There is nothing our God can not do, nor can one our God redeem.
Today, say, “yes’ to Jesus and allow Him to reveal His deep, unending love for you.
