Christmas pictures

We continued our family tradition of making gingerbread houses again this year. I made small ones so that the four older ones were able to each decorate their own. Our friend Jenna and her friend from college also joined us and decorated one. Naomi thought it was great to have all of this candy at her disposal. I seriously think she ate more candy than she did Halloween night! It's so fun to see the kids use their creativity and make their own house.
Ready for church on Christmas morning
Here are a few highlights from our Christmas: Elizabeth is so excited to try out her new cupcake maker and put her Cake Boss TV watching skills to work, Justin is going to get buff lifting weights, Bruce and Will have yet another weapon to shoot each other with, and the little girls couldn't be happier with the new Polly Pocket set. Aaron and the kids are in heaven with our family's new 3D 55" tv!

She's Got the Right Idea

One of our family traditions is to decorate Christmas cutout cookies. I gave Naomi a plate with a little bit of each frosting and a couple of cookies. She carefully slathered on the frosting and then ate her masterpiece. She was so quiet and focused through the whole process - it was precious!

My Favorite Things

I haven't ever done this before, but I've decided to link in with Melissa at 320 Sycamore for her Favorite Things party. Every year I read her list of Favorite Things and wonder if I could come up with a list of my favorites. Here goes:

My feet get so dry, especially in the winter. I love this foot cream from Bath and Body. It saves me from feeling like my heels are going to put a hole in my socks.

I love pumpkin! I love pumpkin ice cream, cookies, bread, waffles, pie, you name it and I love it! The last couple of years it has been harder to come by so I have learned to stock up on it during the fall so we don't have to be pumpkin deprived ever!
I love color! I recently painted my daughter's room and love how it turned out. We still have some more decorating to do, but it's much better than the boring wall color that was in there when we moved in! I also need to add here how much I love the people at Sherwin Williams. We moved into a new house in July. I was actually excited when I realized Sherwin Williams was only a couple of miles from our house. Those people are so helpful!

With six kids in our house, you can image that we have an occasional spill on the carpet. I love this carpet cleaner. All you do is spray, wait a few seconds, rub it in, and spills disappear. It's a true lifesaver!
These have to be my two favorite items I use in the kitchen. This spreader has made more peanut butter and jelly sandwiches than you can imagine and I cut apples everyday with this slicer for lunches. I don't even put either of them in the dishwasher unless it's almost full because I know I will need to use them again.
I love my Asics! I've been wearing this brand of running shoes for probably the past 6 or 7 years. I have to replace them every year - these ones are about due. You can't see it here, but the side is ripping out on one of them. I love running. It clears my mind to be able to exercise and think about life and then feel good after. It also helps me to feel less guilty when I eat all of my favorite things!
I won't be holding anymore of my own little babies anymore, but this is definitely one of my favorite times. I love being in the hospital and holding my little newborn babies. For those couple of days after I have had a baby, it almost feels like the rest of the world doesn't exist. I look a little drugged up here, but you get the idea. There is nothing sweeter than cuddling a newborn! Now I will just have to settle for snuggling other people's babies!
