December Daily Daybook...

So every year come November I have all these plans to join in with either December Daily or Shimelle's Journal my Christmas....and for the last couple of years I have completely failed to be prepared...

This year I have been hooked on making my own Daybooks...so decided to prepare ahead and made one for December...

As always I have made the cover from Kraft cardstock and added acetate (this one is by Fancy Pants). I also added some stickers and MME washi tape, and a paperclip.
Here is a little peek inside...the papers are all Teresa Collins Christmas Cottage, and I have added stickers from the same collection and more of the MME Christmas washi tape. When I add the pics etc I have some flair badges and other bits to go in too...
Let's see in January 2013 how successful I was keeping this going...LOL

Sassafras Lass Daybook...

If you are a regular here on my blog you will have noticed I have fallen in love with the Amy Tangerine Daybook, I decided that I wanted to have a go at making my own....after all that is how Amy came up with the idea of the books...she made one with scraps left over from a demo she was doing at CHA... So here are some step by step instructions of how I make them...
So the first step is to make a cover. I use Bazzill Kraft cardstock and a piece of overlay/acetate. This book measures 7.5 x 5.5 inches. The overlay/acetate measures 5.5 inches deep and is very slighty shorter that the cover so that it doesn't hang over.
The inside pages are made from double sided papers...if they are a little thicker than paper that is better as it gives the pages more support. Cut them in a variety of sizes smaller than your cover. As you can see I have included some envelopes in my book, plus used some decorative edges to the pages...plus some washi tape and stickers.

Now back to decorating the cover. I added some washi tape to the inside and sticker that goes with the paper range I used. I stuck the sticker over the busy overlay/acetate on the front so that it created a place to put the title of the album at a later date.
The inside of the cover is decorated with more washi tape and another sticker.
Now The the cover and insides are ready I added the clips to hold all the pages in place ready to make the holes for hand sewing the book together.
As you can see in the picture I have added holes down the centre fold of the album using an embroidery needle and foam mat.
When I start sewing from the second hole down and then back one hole and forward two holes....it means you over sew, but it makes the binding nice and strong.
More of the sewing...
A close up of the sewing.
Further down and you can get more of an idea...
Sewing all done, and as you can see you get a neat(ish) sewn line down the centre of the daybook.
Here is the sewing from the outside...
I hope this explains everything, and inspires a few of you to have a go at your own book. It is a great way to use up all the pieces of patterned paper you have laying around. Also it is a great saver as the Amy Tangerine Books cost between £6.99-£9.99, and I have estimated that this book cost me about £4 to make and it is utterly unique. If you are a cardmaker with mainly 6x6 pads laying around then don't think you can't have a go at this...I have made another album that is just 6.5 x 4.5 inches and all the pages inside are made from a 6x6 paper pad.

This week over on the Cute Card Thursday Challenge Blog with Halloween just around the corner we want to see your projects that contain...Something Scary!

For my project I made a Halloween Daybook using October Afternoon Witch Hazel Papers, a Hambly Spider Web Overlay and stickers and badges from the same October Afternoon range. Inside the pages are using the papers, stickers and washi tape from the same range. So now I am all set for Halloween pictures to go inside.

And there's more...

I just cannot seem to stop myself making these Daybook...

For this one I dug out the Bo Bunny Mamarazzi papers...I just love the camera these of these papers....I am a self confessed Camera addict....I have 4 cameras, plus the camera on my iPhone....

This time I have made a cover using Craftwork Cards Ritzy cardstock in Ice Cream to which I have added some Hambly Studios camera overlay (remember if you like these overlays that Hambly are no longer in business....so if you want them, buy them when you see them!)
Inside the cover I added some Prima filmstrip decorative tape (had it for years) and added some "photo" inspired words with my Dymo.
Here are pictures of the inside pages...
I have also added a couple of coin envelopes to the centre...
Hope you managed to make it through another Daybook....I promise there will be something different tomorrow and Thursday...and then another Daybook on Friday.

A Girly Daybook...

Another day, another Daybook...but this time something a little "Girly"

The Daybook has been made with Bazzill Kraft cardstock and a piece of Hambly overlay. The papers are all by The Paper Company Girlfriends range. The book still needs more embellishment, but that can be done once photos are added. I have added some Prima tape that I have had for years...and the clip is from my lovely friend Peta in Australia which I believe came from Typo.

I have had a couple of comments from people interested in buying one of these Daybooks from me. If you are interested in any of the ones that I have made, drop me an email with details...my email link is just to the right...
