A Letter to Those Who Should Be Concerned
A Mother’s Anguished Cry
Unite for peace
for
the innocence, carefree spirit,
safety, and serenity
surrounding him,
the sweet melody of his flute,
Everything is at stake.
There is still time
mend your ways
lest
your greed
to control all,
mindless war
destroys his faith and devotion
To humanity is lost
How will you show him your tarnished face?
Good or bad,
Pleasant or sad,
Bitter or sweet,
Whatever you are
I accept your slavery
I will never complain
I promise
Because you are my identity
Without you,
I am nothing
Lonely and desperate
I beg earnestly
Never desert me
Oh my companion
My beloved memories
Always shine, never dim down
Never fade away
The child has complete faith
The father will not let him fall
Unconditional love
Both share with each other
Pray!
No situation should change this
Proceed, my child proceed
With a smile on your face
With positivity and grace
With compassion in your heart
Proceed, my child proceed
With strength in your mind
leaving weakness behind
With stars in your eyes
Proceed, my child proceed
With progress as your aim
All the hardship you can tame
With determination and zeal
Proceed, my child, proceed
( I wrote this poem for my grand-daughter in 2012)
O Lord!
May jealousy, greed, selfishness, ego,
hatred, cruelty, and lust
Never conquer me.
May Ego, stubbornness, anger, hunger,
mind and body
Never enslave me.
May Love, positivity, compassion, adaptability,
kindness, courage, and righteousness
Never desert me.
May you and my conscience
Always guide me and lead me from darkness to light.
This is my earnest wish.
Enchant my everyday
By allowing the light of knowledge to enter
Every nook and corner of my mind and heart
Let there be no darkness, no negativity
Only light of love, peace,
Compassion and understanding
Let there be a full understanding that
We are all kindred soul
Connected with each other
We all are soulmates
ETHEREAL
The lamp casting
Mysterious shadows
Setting sun
Star-studded sky
Dancing waves
Swaying silhouetted trees
Cool breeze
Enhancing the magic spell
Pray and be grateful
Surrender to the
Ethereal atmosphere
Unconditionally
O God ! please let me have Jealousy, greed, selfishness, haughtiness, hatred, cruelty, and lust as my enemies. Ego, stubbornness, anger, hunger mind and body as my slaves Love, positivity, compassion, compatibility, kindness, courage, and righteousness as my companions. You and my conscience as my mentor. Am I asking for too much?
Monthly Peace Challenge: Peace Child–
PLEA OF A CHILD
I was born innocent, full of love and peace.
I was born neither Hindu, Muslim, Christian nor Sikh, Jain or Buddhist.
You brand me with a label of religion without me knowing what religion is.
Instead of teaching me love, friendship, compassion, and compatibility,
You taught me to hate people of other religions, ideologies, cultures, colors, caste, and creeds.
I request all the teachers, parents, and elder person, please stop teaching me anything.
There will be differences between us as no two people can think alike but we will manage.
We will play, fight, and makeup if we are not taught to carry on fights on the basis of ego and arrogance.
If you stop fighting with each other and start living in peace and harmony we will automatically learn that.
If you will give respect to people of other religions, caste, and creed, you will not have to bother with teaching me anything as we children are an incarnation of love and peace.
