What a vast difference lies between bookish knowledge and the experiences gained from life! Books told me about various kinds of flowers—their colours, shapes, and myriad qualities— whereas reality immersed me in their very fragrance also. My heartfelt gratitude to both.
Beauty beyond words Silent, serene Renews itself daily With every sunrise If your senses are immersed fully And you think It has been waiting to welcome you Then You Are Exactly Where You Need To Be Thank you stars And Bow with Gratitude
This week, Sally is our PoW for W3 Prompt #190 I have selected the line ‘A Pagan suckled in a creed outworn’ from the great poet, Wordsworth’s poem ‘ The World Is Too Much With Us’.
A Pagan? Yes, I am.
A Pagan suckled in a creed outworn; By any criticism, I’m not torn God particle in everything I see By grace, I sculpt idols to worship thee Of all that reminds me of your blessing to me Of the incarnations, protected me Let those who want to laugh, laugh, or mock me But they can’t shake my faith or deter me Yes, I’m a Pagan suckled in a creed outworn; Know nothing how to show my gratitude Except sculpt idols and pray in platitude You may hate, but for protection, I’m sworn This universe is as much inside me, As much as it exists outside me.
Well fed, loved, and clean and well-groomed, assigned a comfortable, neat, little cozy corner With my near and dear ones Need not wag my tail to show gratitude, Still, I am treated as a queen. Fully contented What more do you want from life, man?
Write a story, poem, or reflection where the act of giving thanks is tied to resilience, protest, or moral strength. Explore the paradox of refusing to be grateful to the ungrateful: those who exploit, silence, or dismiss others. Instead, celebrate gratitude as a weapon of dignity—thankfulness for the voices that rise, the hands that resist, and the hearts that refuse to bow. How does gratitude transform when it becomes an act of defiance?”
Thanks, but no thanks
Thanks, but no thanks For an offer that doesn’t feel reasonable. For the thanks that don’t come from the heart. For the sorry that doesn’t feel genuine. For the please that feels too formal. For the invitation, it feels like you’re doing me a favor. For the compliment that sounds fake in your voice. A smile that doesn’t reach your eyes. The discussions you indulge in are just to show off your intelligence. The debates you raise are only to win. Your silence when you use it as a weapon to make me say sorry
Welcome to the world of AI. Thanks, but no thanks. Cashless transactions. Miss the touch of crisp currency notes Virtual blessings, love, and hugs Without a warm touch. Online shopping. Miss the joy of traveling and choosing, and touch of everything. Virtual sightseeing tours. Virtual functions. Virtual wedding celebrations. Virtual pooja and rituals Virtual fun. Virtual love. Virtual gratitude. Virtual thanks and thanksgiving. Only one thing has escaped the trap of AI. Hunger. Hunger for food. Hunger to look good and young. Hunger for money. Hunger for power. Hunger for land. Hunger to rule the world. Thanks for all the new technology. You’re busy with virtual meetings and parties. They’re out to take over your world. Please come out of your fabricated world. Or you won’t even know, and they’ll pull the carpet away from your feet.
Here is your writing prompt to weave a tale of intrigue this week.
O God! Please press the reset button. Bring the Earth back to its original state. When there was no religion except gratitude and humanity. When there was no rift in human relationships. When people coexisted with each other and cared for nature happily. When they helped each other without any compulsion. When they were full of humanity and gratitude. Sometimes I wonder Are you enjoying the chaos created by the vested interests? Or have you forgotten the password to reset?
In today's scenario, One thing is obvious: People have forgotten the password to connect with God and with each other. And the password is gratitude.
How are you celebrating the day, or how would you like to celebrate.
THANKSGIVING
Apart from expressing my gratitude to this universe, my parents, siblings, relatives, neighbors, friends, my helping hand, my school, college, my office colleagues, my husband, and my children, who have in many ways shaped my character, given me an identity, were present in my life’s journey, whether it was on the track or off the track.
I must also extend my thanks to all the doctors, scientists, researchers, and discoverers who have made my life more comfortable and enjoyable. The list of those I am extremely grateful is endless.
My heartfelt gratitude to all my blogger friends, who are all successful writers with many published books and still manage to read my posts, like, and comment on them. They have encouraged and enriched me in my blogging journey.
I can’t thank enough to our WordPress Team who gave me such a nice well managed platform for blogging. Here only I met some wonderful virtual friends, and also my Grammarly app which helps me correct my grammar and spelling. At last, I have to show gratitude to my body who had till now supported me despite…
How would I like to celebrate a Thanksgiving day? I would love to party with my friends at the sea beach, on a full moon night, overloading them with love, care, and delicacies, and dance all night. Alas! I am past that age. Still no harm in dreaming, and when dreaming, why spend less?
Autumn's radiant farewell
Leaves a message to us all
Either leave pleasently
With love and gratitude
In your heart
Or
Sulk, whine, and complainfor the fall
We have a dialogue prompt this week …. with a twist.
Woman-: And I always thought it was you, secretly helping and supporting me against all the odds.’
‘I can’t be grateful enough for it.’
Man- ‘It was me indeed… watching you stand there proud and unbending… with my support. I had foreseen the potential in you. I knew that a bit of support would take you a long way. I never let you know about my help and support lest it hampers your self-esteem. Mentioned it now because you did.’
Her acceptance brought tears to his eyes.
Who doesn’t likes a little appreciation, acknowledgment, and gratitude?
