Stairway to…What Do You See #337

Posted on

“You should dance as if no one is watching you,
Love as if you will never be hurt,
Sing as if no one is listening to you,
And live as if this earth itself were heaven.”
― William W. Purkey

Your journey ends where the road ends
After that, your krama takes over
That can only carry you to heaven
If, at all, there is heaven or hell
On other than Earth
And even then,
Only if you have managed to transform
The very place where you currently reside
Into a paradise;
Otherwise, bound by habit,
You will turn even heaven itself into hell.

The three faces made of clay—
so serene,
as if immersed in meditation.
Only one can create this
who is, themselves,
calm and meditative.

Hand – What Do You See# 300

A robot’s hand
or
a hand that has turned robotic
Cold
Metallic,
Impersonal
Devoid of the touch of soft green grass,
Of the pleasure of dew’s touch,
Of the silky touch of butterflies sitting on it
Nothing stirs a ripple of feelings in it
How did it happen
Who stole all the joy from him?
Fate, Karma, or Alzheimer’s, or…

Karma!-Reena’s Xploration Challenge #382

To be alone at your desk or in your studio is not enough. You have to free yourself from the phantoms and inner critics who pursue you wherever you go. “When you start working,” said the composer John Cage, “everybody is in your studio — the past, your friends, enemies, the art world, and above all, your own ideas — all are there. But as you continue painting, they start leaving, one by one, and you are left completely alone. Then, if you are lucky, even you leave.”

The moment I take out a pen to write, my muse jeers.
Everything has been written in the past.
Every story has been told in the past.
What new can you write?
Present is just repetition
Nothing you write or create is outside the nature of what has already been done.
My mind explains
It’s your writing style or presentation that matters.
How you express or perceive things matters.
Slowly, you become the doer.
Then, if you can submerge, you are lucky, even the doer leaves.
What remains is the ‘pure awareness’ and
your Karma.

Monster spider
Reassures its first prey
If you invite others
then,
If you are lucky
You may even leave
I may spare you
Foolish prey
Believes
In her quest for freedom,
She even traps her friends
Not realizing
It’s a vicious web
Once caught,
You are caught.

The Proud Owner

The proud owner of the house forgot that he had to leave it one day.

He took great pride in maintaining it with utmost care and love and surrounded it with a beautiful garden.

He devoted all his time to beautifying its exterior, neglecting its interior and other aspects of life. He neglected maintaining good relationships with relatives, friends, and neighbors.

When the time for departure came he repented,

‘One must always balance maintaining the interior and exterior of the house, one must plant seeds of good karma so the fragrance of flowers of good karma will remain forever.’
