Stairway to…What Do You See #337

Posted on

“You should dance as if no one is watching you,
Love as if you will never be hurt,
Sing as if no one is listening to you,
And live as if this earth itself were heaven.”
― William W. Purkey

Your journey ends where the road ends
After that, your krama takes over
That can only carry you to heaven
If, at all, there is heaven or hell
On other than Earth
And even then,
Only if you have managed to transform
The very place where you currently reside
Into a paradise;
Otherwise, bound by habit,
You will turn even heaven itself into hell.

The three faces made of clay—
so serene,
as if immersed in meditation.
Only one can create this
who is, themselves,
calm and meditative.

A Letter to Those Who Should Be Concerned
A Mother’s Anguished Cry

Unite for peace
for
the innocence, carefree spirit,
safety, and serenity
surrounding him,
the sweet melody of his flute,
Everything is at stake.
There is still time
mend your ways
lest
your greed
to control all,
mindless war
destroys his faith and devotion
To humanity is lost
How will you show him your tarnished face?

Peace – Reena’s Xploration Challenge #423

PROMPT #423

We have an image prompt this week.

My perspective on peace
Is vastly different from that of others—
Just as theirs is.
What should I write, and how can I explain it,
When I myself am struggling to find peace?
Will balancing the Yin and Yang
Bring about a miracle?
Will it restore harmony to the world?
Or will we spend our entire lives shouting, “We want peace,”

while continuing to do the very things that are totally opposite to it?

One of the primary challenges for us is to set an example for children, to teach them how to attain peace.
How to live facing life’s uncertainties without giving in to emotional turbulence?
How to face life’s adversities with resilience and wisdom?
How can we teach them to cultivate peace of mind when we are still unable to let go of the desire to control and the tendency to overreact in difficult times?
How to teach them that unwavering inner calm–peace of mind is the best mind, when we are still struggling to achieve that.
Children don’t learn by preaching, but by watching how elders handle
pressure in various areas of life, such as tight deadlines, job insecurity, cost of living, marital conflicts, social isolation, information overload, peer and social pressures, and parenthood.
Our mind, with consistent practice, can learn to let go and relax, but
Creating peace by fighting and destroying all negative forces is far more appealing to some parts of the human mind, and they create all the ruckus in the world.

Insomnia – What Do You See #325

The world sleeps concerning sleeping disease…..

With hard work came
Success, wealth, name and fame
Then came comforts, laziness, stress, and strain
With stress came insomnia and disease
Wealth provided all the medicines, and
Sleeping pills in the heap
But, alas!
It could not give
A peaceful, blissful sleep
The night goes by, counting the sheep.

My takeaway is ' peace'
As
With the peace
In everyone's mind
Every other thing will
Fall in line

World Peace – Reality or Dream or Wishful Thinking

Are we, the common people, ready to live contentedly with whatever our government can supply us with honesty and distributing the natural resources available in our country, equally?

Can we take a vow that we will not exert undue pressure on our government to give us freebies and provide us with more comforts than it can provide us with working honestly?

Can we assure ourselves that we will not be led by greed and jealousy, and impose our beliefs and faiths on others forcefully?

We will not discriminate others in the name of caste, creed and relegion and oppress weaker sections of society? Not make others our slaves just because we are lazy to do our own work?

If we, ourselves, are just, honest, and peace lovers, we will elect people who are just, honest, and peace-loving and not those who can fulfill our demands by any means, and measures.

Each and every nation, big or small wants prosperity, progress, modernization, etc. for the their people by any means. Then ther is bound to be unrest because for this you need money and natural resources. Your population and needs are expanding day by day. To fulfill that you want to grab all the resourses for your country only , let others deprive. Who cares?

‘Peace comes to only those who allow others live in peace.’

Casting pearls before… Reena’s Xploration Challenge# 335

Casting pearls before...

Talking of peace, tolerance, restrains
To the one whose sole aim is to earn money by selling arms.
Whose economy is solely dependent on the sale of weapons,
The Mighty, super rich
'Weapon Mafia'
That fosters unrest and fear
Leading forced purchasing of firearms for self-defense
Seems to be winning
People
Stryggling for peace, harmony, and compassion
Seems to be on the back foot
Dear Buddha,
Shocked?
Traumatized?
Distressed?
They don't care
The adament lot
They are heading for World War III.
However,
Be rest assured
There can never be World War IV
With no one
Alive to fight.

What did you expect?

Flowers,

green grass,

parks,

and trees.

Children having fun in the park,

and parents are watching proudly.

Unfortunately,

nowadays,

children are busy with their cell phones and toy weapons.

guns,

missiles, and

war tanks

adorn

the

pedestals

everywhere

Treaty – Reena’s Xploration Challenge # 330

Treaty

Since time immemorial

humans have not been able to live in peace for long periods

they drag petty issues to big wars

after the loss of many lives and resources

they become wise

after discussions about how devastating wars can be

they recognize the importance of peace, and

sit down together to sign a treaty

carried over by emotions

they vow to uphold the treaty forever

promising to help each other build a better future.
.

.

.

getting bored of playing goody-goody

or, pressurized by the weapon mafia…

well, why blame others

it’s human nature though not everyone is like that

surprisingly

1/3rd of bad elements rule over 2/3 of good ones

eventually,

they start to find a way to start the cycle again

forgetting all about their treaty

——————————————————————————

The Pact

In another scenario,

two strangers come together and create several remarkable works

producing blockbuster hits

make name and fame

they make a pact not to separate no matter what comes their way

success leads to ego clashes and comparisons

which ultimately drives them apart

they forget their promise of living together forever.

Plea Of A Child- What Do You See # 212- 13 November 2023

Plea Of A Child
Me and my pet are running away to a place
Where children will always be children.
We don't want to grow up in this ever fighting world.

I was born innocent, full of love and peace.

I was born neither Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Jain, or Buddhist.

You brand me with a label of religion without me knowing what religion is.

Instead of teaching me love, friendship, compassion, and compatibility, you teach me to hate people of other religions.

You teach me to hate people of other religions, ideologies, color, caste, and creed.

I request all the teachers, parents, and elder people, to please stop teaching me anything.

There will be differences between us as no two people can think alike but we will manage.

We will play, fight, and make if we are not taught to carry on fights based on ego and arrogance.

If you stop fighting with each other and start living in peace and harmony we will automatically learn that.

And then you will not have to teach me anything as we children are an incarnation of love and peace.

“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.”– Melody Beattie

“When I started counting my blessings, my whole life turned around.” -Willie Nelson

A big heartfelt thanks to all the trees for being there for years and years and years.
