Be Happy 🙂

by Nicholas Gordon

August starts to shade a bit towards shade,
Upon the cusp of full tide and retreat.
Gifts of grace accumulate through time
Underneath the sweat of the sublime,
Substance that no silence can defeat.
Though evenings earlier begin to fade.

Be Happy

Metal wheelbarrow with a 125 litre bag of compost dropped on ones foot is not a good mix.

Be Happy

You Are Deep

You are completely self sufficient. You are your own happiness.
You are content with your life and the world. It’s hard to bum you out.

You see how everything is cyclical. You understand that nothing is permanent.
Insightful and smart, you know enough to get how the world works yet still realize there is more to learn.

Going to be a very busy weekend for us what with one thing and another, but I promise (I have my hand on my heart now, what do you mean you don’t believe me)? I will write a proper post on Monday, in-between going out, coming in and going out again.

Your Best Trait is Creativity

You may seem like you’re a bit flaky or flighty, but you’re really just deep in thought.
You are the artistic type, no doubt. However, you are also highly analytical and logical. You are able to solve problems in unique and interesting ways. Your ideas are unpredictable, but they always end up making sense.
You are picky and sometimes downright critical. You expect the best of yourself, but others are not prepared for your exacting standards.

First you forget names, then you forget faces, then you forget to pull your zipper up, then you forget to pull zipper down. – Lee Rosenburg

I was washing up yesterday morning and had the feeling of being watched, and I was, by the baby blackbird. There it was sat in the tree peering in at me; it’s making me quite paranoid.

As I turned the last of the cherries into a cake I listen to the news, first there was a report about schools suing the government because they are not going to get the money they thought they were to repair and or rebuild schools. The argument as far as I could make out was that the repairs were needed for the children to learn, the very next report shown children in Haiti sitting in rubble and a school room which was no more than a plastic cover on the floor and what looked like a couple of pieces of wood for walls, these children didn’t seem to be having trouble learning. This was followed by a report about France wanting to ban the Amira Hijab, and calls for it to be banned here. It seems that everyone who texted and phoned in wanted it banned giving reasons that it is very much one law for one at the moment, (which I will admit I hadn’t thought about) in as much as if you wear a crash helmet you have to remove it before going into a shop/bank/garage, hoodies are banned in a lot of shopping centres and you wouldn’t dream of going into anywhere with a full face balaclava. I always thought along the lines of it as if I went to a Islamic country I would be excepted to cover up and I would out of respect not because I wanted to.

You Are 65% Non Conformist

You are a pretty serious non conformist. You live a life hardly anyone understands. And while some may call you a freak, you’re happy with who you are.

Whenever a man’s friends begin to compliment him about looking young, he may be sure that they think he is growing old. – Washington Irving

That’s better, it has cooled off a little and we even had rain this morning, not a lot but enough to make the air feel fresh.

Hubby asked me what I wanted for my birthday this morning, its months away, but as he pointed out it is a big one. Well thank you for that. It is quite a scary thought though I have lived more of my life than I have left, it makes you think, well it makes me think.

So after I had finished my daily jobs I watched The Queen, I love that film.

Here’s something to look forward to Dr Who is back in December

A blast from the past here with David, sing along now
