yeah right.

if you live in gcrap city or podunk nowhere iowa, please try to explain to me why you haven’t moved here yet.

is there something better where you are?  well, here’s added incentive to pack up the wagon. something else that’s in denver:

kt and i went hiking in rocky mountain national park this past weekend.

through a variety or unfortunate events, our 3 mile hike turned out to be a little more than 8 miles. oops.  but it was beautiful, challenging, and fun. we hiked (forever), then camped, then woke up in the middle of the forest, then hiked out, then got coffee in estes park. 😀

on the way to the park we had to get gas. this is the view from the gas station.

just let me know, i’ll start looking for places for rent on craigslist.

ps. i miss you.

kt and i went to a Colorado Rockies game.

[[just to quell any thoughts that might be brooding… i won the tickets in a raffle]]

For those who don’t know, which–until recently–included me, the Rockies are the professional baseball team here in Denver.  Apparently we have every sort of professional sports team here, and everyone is required to be very excited about them.

Well, regardless of my complete lack of enthusiasm about professional sports. it was a good time.

We really liked watching the employees in the purple shirts run to wherever a ball landed in the crowd to make sure no one had a baseball embedded in their foreheads. one batter broke the bat and it flew into the crowd in front of us and hit a guy. a guy sitting right behind us got a foul ball.  we saw a guy get kicked out of the stadium for leaning over the railing and picking up a ball that was still in play.  we had great seats.

and, weirdly, the team mascot is a purple dinosaur. hmm…

(i was told later by my a coworker that it’s because they found dinosaur bones when they were building the stadium. but purple ones? i doubt it.)
