Short Films That Were Made into Full Length Films…

This post is me thinking out loud. I can shoot “Glo” as a short using my own money, enter it into film festivals, find producer/distributor or raise the money before. I’m presently attaching folks, and checking out funding sources. But I’m itching to shoot something too.

So these films made into shorts to garner attention (which they did) are really encouraging right now.

“Dennis” extended into “Teddy Bear”.

Shane Acker’s “9” extended into… “9”.

“Some Folks Call It A Sling Blade” extended to “Sling Blade”.

“Gowanus, Brooklyn” extended to “Half Nelson”.

If you’ve seen any other the larger films, wouldn’t you agree making a short from the screenplays was worth the effort? Turned out well, through and through.

I’m so excited.

A quiet that should make him disappear

With fire burning brighter than all of the gym

He’s older than the rest of them

A look that says don’t mess with him

But I’m about to commit a sin

No better yet make him a friend

Still I don’t know where to begin

I swear I might as well be ten

Then he looks and it’s a test

Something telling me give your  best

Conjure up courage to kill the stress

No no no I’ll never confess

Well unless

There’s one in what he says

Just so scared to be a pest

Times up

Next machine

He’s leaving the scene

Now I’m gonna feel like a fiend

Needing that chance

Ripped from my hand

Hold up there

I’m one of your fans

Oh my words just never land

Doesn’t matter off goes Peter Pan

Not really think this one is a man

Maybe tomorrow I’ll woman up.

Note: Getting on the treadmill or highbike is usually the highlight of my day, man other people that come to the gym!!!
