DJ Mister Cee and Bimbo Winehouse

I think everyone in the black community should listen to this discussion:

Our Language and Misunderstanding is Creating Victims

But not ‘just’ black folk, anyone who celebrates hip-hop and who may be a DJ Cee fan.

However, Bimbo Winehouse identifies as a gay male who is a drag queen, very different from transgender.

I think the points in the first discussion, still apply though. There is a ton of stigma around both (straight) trans dating and gay relationships.

So thanks for checking out this post, because I think we need to tune in and educate ourselves about one another (for a better functioning  society).

*Additional Note*

One thing I think that hasn’t been introduced into the conversation about DJ Cee is that he is a sex addict. For me, the employment of prostitutes at the risk of his career proves that. The cheating is another issue. This may have to do with his sexuality, but I think this adult man needs to have the room to figure this out for himself.

However for the sex addiction part, Cee really should get treatment. It’s not just a fascination with prostitutes, it’s a fascination to the exclusion of regular dating. It’s a hit. No pun intended.

Noteworthy Activists….

Settle in with a bag of popcorn and watch the following videos.

Panel Discussion with Women Directors (3/15/13)

A wonderful friend of mine emailed me an invite to this panel discussion with working (women) directors earlier today. Going would mean I’d forego my ‘work night,’ but this is the path I’m traveling down, more than what I currently do professionally.

How inspiring!!

I am so glad I went. Some deeply valuable things said during it. Fuel in my tank.

Have to finish polishing my screenplay now, and take in some extra hours to save for my camera. I don’t think I’m going to do the donate button on here. I got veeeeery little comment regarding my aim to put up a small fundraiser here. 😦

Anyway, enjoy!
