Where my playwrights at?

Lol.

I started checking out what it is to write a play because something I want to explore creatively, feels like it would make a better play.

However the challenge is, playwriting isn’t exactly my medium. Or at least not the one I’ve been working at. Filmmaking is.

However, after mom’s death, I’m loyal to nothing. Life is short. So if something  piques my interest, I’m on it. Who cares? We’ll all be taking a dirt nap soon, so why not try ALL the things that call to you now?

I have strong eyes

And the heart

Which it takes to Look
at a stranger in my land

As Women we are creative
magical in our imaginings

In an ancient time
I’ve no doubt we ruled kingdoms
where civilians bowed to us

But now we bow
when pictures
we weave betray us
resembling nothing from the reality
of those
we aim to love

But

My Eyes are open
and I see
you

Good
with
the
bad

And I won’t Flinch
or rush to recast
what unfolds

So the question is for you

Can you stand where raw truth unravels
unpretty
and
direct

muddy
and
erect

Raising beyond flowery language

Can you take my gaze
Be okay
I may let you be
flee
not Keep
If you’re undeep

Say Yes

And you’ll get the best
Of the rest
with less
guess
of
what
to
do
here.

Wind Up Toy

This time let the wind up toy unwind
Let her
Be real
Let her reveal

What makes her mad
And makes her sad
Let her be
Bad

Not just a toy producing
Like
Love
Enjoyment
Support
Approval
Hurrays
Sun rays

For your dark room
Let her into the doom
Don’t keep her in a cocoon
Til you’re in your tomb

Only then can the play
Be more than what you say
Let it go come what may

Let her face all of your days
Otherwise none of this pays
So take in some of her ways
Don’t leave it all to age

With everyone around for what you wind them up

It’ll leave you in a rut
and kick them in the gut

So don’t put up such a fuss
and kill off all the trust
or let both of you rust
in your roles.
