Lil' Update

The kids were both in a good mood the other day (first time ever), so I thought I'd snap a few pics. They turned out pretty good, so I thought I'd use them as an excuse for an update on the 'ole blog.

Reader's Digest update: Jude is now nearing 5 months old, hates sleep, but loves his Momma and one of Ava's Ariel toys. He already wants to run marathons and is really mad that he can't yet. Ava is 3 1/2, loves to watch She-ra re-runs on Netflix, thinks she's Jude's mom, and is already pretty good at doing the robot and the electric boogaloo (that part was for Kade). And now, what you are all really wanting...the pictures:

A new addition

So, let's not talk about how the last time I posted was almost a year ago...done.

Instead, I just wanted to share our news that we welcomed a new addition to our little family last week. I realize many of you might not have even known I was pregnant...I am not a good sharer of information, obviously.
So, here is our little journey...

This picture is from Monday night, October 4...night before I was to be induced. I only took this picture because I was threatened by my mother if I didnt take a pregnant picture.

Tuesday morning on October 5 got the call at 6:30 AM that they were ready for us to come in. It became a bit of a stressful day after I passed out at one point, and then the baby's heartrate kept dropping with each contraction. But, thanks to prayers and a very good nurse, we made it through, and our little guy arrived at 5:23 PM.

He weighed in at 6 lbs 14 oz (a full pound and a half bigger than is miniature older sister was), and 18 inches long. We named him Jude Garner Asay. Yes, as in Hey Jude the Beatles song...which is his namesake. One cool part of the day was that Jude was born on my Grandpa Jim's birthday who passed away when my mom was very young, so it was pretty special to have them share their birthday. And the rest of the post is pictures...enjoy!

Jude right after he was born. As you can see, his little face was bruised. Looked like he had a 5 o'clock shadow. I progressed so rapidly at the end that his face got smashed on the way out because he came so fast.

See..they even taped a "I have a bruised face" sign to his bed. I think this was to make sure the nurses knew it was a bruise, not that he'd stopped breathing.

Ava and Jude meet. Ava's first words after she saw him were "ohhh, he's nice".

After the official first meeting, Ava was more enthralled with my 79 hospital bracelets than she was with Jude.

Ava, Mom, and Jude watching a movie in the hospital bed.

Ava did pretty well for a while, but then she started going stir crazy as you can see. So, Grandma Elsie came and picked her up and entertained her - thanks MOM!

Yay! We finally made it home!

Sad news came the next day that Jude's bilirubin levels were too high, so he had to sport those cool aviator goggles, and sleep under the lights for 4 days.

Yesterday, Jude and I had a photo shoot, here are some of the highlights:

Disneyland...a few months late

So, Aunt Laurie was right...it took me about 3 months to get these pictures up of our trip to Disneyland. But at least they're up, right? The first week in August, the whole Garner Fam took a trip to the Happiest Place on Earth...which ended up being the Place Where You Chase 8 Tired Hungry Screaming Children Around for just $80 a Person, but it was nostalgic, and I loved every minute of it! As always, there is a warning that there are a TON of pics in this post...I couldn't narrow it down further than this.

Yay, we finally made it!

Breakfast at Disneyland = Cherry Mickey Mouse Sucker...yah, I'm a good mom.
