May 23rd, 2012

Dear Ty,

I woke up early this morning at 4:30 a.m excited for your arrival. It has been a long day coming and your dad and I are so excited to see what you look like. I walked into your big sisters room and kissed her goodbye. Even though she is only 18 months old she knows who you are. She would kiss my belly and waive to you and say "Hi TyTy".  I know she will be the best big sister to you.

We arrived at the hospital at 6:30 a.m and got settled in our room. I was prepped and ready to go. Your Grandma and Grandpa Wood and Grandma Shapiro were there waiting to see your face. Around 7:55 I heard your sweet little cry for the first time. My eyes filled up with tears. Your sweet dad put your face next to mine and it was love at first sight. You look just like your sister. Big blue eyes and lots of black hair. You weighed 7lbs and 10 oz. And have the cutest cry. I got back to my room and everyone had held you but me. When they finally bathed you and got you clean, they brought you to me. Oh my goodness son, how darling you are. My first words to you were "Hello my son". I love to say son. I couldn't believe how alert you were. Big eyes staring right into mine. You knew who I was and I was proud. So I cuddled you the rest of the day.

You had many visitors come to see you. Your sweet cousins Jaden, Easton, and Addi. Your uncles Jordan and Dallin, your Aunty HayHay, Hills, Whitney, Aunt Tonya and Uncle Randall, Grandma and Grandpa Wood and your Grandma Shapiro. We sure miss PaPa Shapiro dearly! And even though he wasn't here to meet you we know your paths crossed before you came to see us.

Your big sister came to the hospital to see you just hours after you were born. She had a shirt on that said I'm a Big Sister Today. The first thing she said was "Hi TyTy". She was in love with you from the start. She loved on you and gave you kisses and held your sweet little hand. She pulled your hair, poked you in the eye and then pointed to your eyes and said "Yeyes". She can't keep her hands off of you. She will be your biggest fan, I'm sure of it.

We shared a wonderful 3 days in the hospital together and really got to snuggle each other. Your dad just loves you. He talks to you and cuddles you and loves you more than you know. We were released on Saturday May 26th and we were excited to share our lives with you.

Your Grandma Shapiro was oh so kind to stay with us for another few weeks to help. She was such a big help and we were soooooooo thankful for her during this time. She loves you so much and cuddled you just as much or more than mommy did. She made us dinners and played with your sister and made sure we were all doing just fine. We were so sad when she left. But we will see her in a few months.

At 3 weeks old you slept through the night. I was amazed. I was so happy and hoped it would continue and it definitely has. You're the best baby. Always so alert and looking around constantly. You respond to your mommy and daddy and more so to your big sister. You listen so intently to her jibber jabber and you probably understand more than we do!

Son. I hope you know how much we love you. We promise to always be there for you and provide for you. We will teach you, and laugh with you, we will do fun things together, and we will always make sure you know you're loved. We thank our Heavenly Father for blessing us with such a perfect son. I'm excited to see you progress and grow up. I'm excited to watch you interact with your sister and watch you learn all of the new things there is to learn!  But most of all my sweet son, I'm excited to be your mom!

We love you to the moon and back,

Mom & Dad

April and May 2012

Kate,

These last two months have flown by so fast. You love doing so many things. You love to play outside!! We sit in your chair and look up at the clouds. You point to the birds and say "Bird". You say the word outside almost every single second of every single day. You point and say "Trees". You would live outside if I'd let you.

You love Elmo. Your dad has purchased you about every Elmo Pajama Wal-Mart carries. You love taking Elmo with you wherever you go. You call him YAYA.

Easter was a lot of fun this year. You got an Elmo basket full of fun things. You ate quite a few of chocolate eggs and M&M'S. You loved the Tu-Tu Gam Gam gave you. You will twirl around and around like the princess you are. Later that afternoon we went to Gam Gam Woods and had an Easter egg hunt with your cousins. You had so much fun. You loved going form tree to tree to find the eggs and put them so neatly in your basket. That is until you found out there was chocolate in them. You wanted nothing to do with the hunting only the eating.

You love eating Cheerios with black berries. And going to church. you love to lead the music and pretend that you know the words to the song. You know many songs. You sing Rock-A-Bye don't you cry we're going to KyKy's! ha ha You put your own words in the songs. It's great. You sing I'm bringing home a baby bumble bee, Sun Sun Mister Golden Sun. When we ask you if you want something you always say okay. You always want to call PaPa, KyK, jadee and GamGam.  You love Minnie Mouse clubhouse and you also say the word Minnie. You say cookie, bird, sky, You're just talking away.

You know where your toes, nose, eyes, fingers, elbow, yegs (legs) toes, and feet. You know where TyTy is and you love to point to my belly and give him kisses and feel him kick.

May has been a really big month!!!

We love you to the moon and back baby girl!!!

March 2012

Baby Kate,

This month you did so many things. You're such a sweet little thing. Your dad and I love you so much. You love to hide behind things and say peek-a-boo. You will stand behind the wall and lean so far over, you lose your balance and fall to the ground and laugh and laugh. You get right back up and do it again. When we drive into our neighborhood you say "Hummmmm" (home) You bring me my shoes and sign the word shoes. And you also give me my shoes and say "Mamma's shoes". It is so cute and you're oh so very smart. You love to march. We sing march march march march, and you will lift up only one leg. We love to watch you learn new things. You love to talk on the phone. You will open your dads phone and say "Heroooooo" (Hello) And do it over and over again. You love to put on your dads hats. One day you had daddys hat on and it was over your face. You were walking along and you slammed right into the wall. You just cried and cried but of course your dad and I laughed, how rude I know. But we quickly hugged you and you went right back to playing.
On March 15th, you crawled up on the couch all by yourself. We cheered so loud for you and you smiled so big. You say so many words. You say mamma, dada, baby, keys, and cookie, toes, nose, knee and so many more.
This month we did a lot of fun things. You went to your cousin Jadee's (Jaden) birthday and had ice cream and cake. You loved watching him open presents and singing him the birthday song. You love your cousins so much. You love watching your dad play hockey. You yell "Go DaDa Go" It's just darling to see you love your dad so much.

You also love it when your toes and nails are painted and if the polish comes off you point to your finger and say "Oh nooooo". I laugh every time.

Gram Gram Shapiro also came to visit us. We went to the taco mall and to the new City Creek mall in SLC. You love to eat yogurt with gram gram and you never let her leave your sight.
We also went to see your new cousin Evan. We flew to Colorado and you loved flying on the airplane. the stewardess gave you two chocolate chip cookies and you ate every single crumb. You say hello to everyone that passes by. They always comment about how cute you are and ask how old you are because you're so smart.  We would go to Aunty Karens and Uncle Alex's house during the day. You loved your new cousin You're always so happy. You would rub his head and say "awwww". I know you will be great with your new brother.

You love to say your prayers. We will be in a restaurant and you will fold your arms and we all have to stop what we're doing and pray. It is sooooo cute!

Kate you're the light of our lives. You bring us so much happiness and we know you will be such a great help when baby brother gets here. You make us smile each and every day. We love watching you learn and play. We love watching you smile, but most of all we love you. You make us better and you make us want to always be the best we can be for you. Thank you for loving us so much.

Love you to the moon and back,
Mommy and Daddy

February 2012

Baby Kate,

On February 3rd, 2012 your dad and I took you to Chucky Cheese and you loved it! You went on lot's of rides all by yourself and we laughed and got a real kick out of you wanting to be so independent already.  You played so hard and won lots of tickets. You loved every single ride. You smiled and waived at your mom and dad like "Hello!!!! Look at me, I'm soooooo big" It was a fun day.

You've started saying lot's of new things this month. You know what a snake says, you say cheese, and when you shut the gate you say "there". On February 7th I said "Baby I love you" and you said it back to me. In your own way of course. I yuh u is the best way I can spell it. On February 13th you said "Wow" and on February 15th you said "uh ohhhhh". You love to say "no mama, no dada" and we think it's really cute. Although I'm sure when you get older it may not be so cute! :)

You love to go to daddy's hockey games. You cheer so loud. You love to say "Go dada, go, go". You're just so happy every time your with your dad. You get so excited after the games to see him. Your legs kick, you make cute little high pitched noises and yell "DaDa" You love him so much and you have him wrapped right around your little finger!!

You love to eat. You loved your lasagna and got it everywhere. You just dove right into it. We just laughed as you went to town on it. You had it in your hair, your eyes, your belly, and even up your nose. But we didn't care, it was to cute to keep you clean.

Mommy loves to spend every second I can with you. So we made some cookies for the first time and you were so cute. You poured, you dumped, you mixed, you ate! We had a lot of fun together that day. One I had to make sure I remembered.

Kate we love you so much and we're very grateful to have you in our lives. You bring so much joy into our home. We love every second we have with you and every time you smile we smile. You're so special and have been since you came into this world. Thank you for loving us so much!

We love you to the moon and back,
