Strong store performance often depends on details customers never consciously notice. In frozen food retail, strong presentation, stable temperatures and simple daily operation have to work together. That is the thinking behind BOREA FREEZE AIR. Its slim door frame design supports clearer product visibility and creates 5% more display area, while optimised airflow, advanced sealing and door heating help maintain stable temperatures and reduce icing in daily use. For service teams, the top-mounted compressor and easy-clean condenser make access more practical when maintenance is needed. BOREA FREEZE AIR can also be combined with BOREA CHILL to create a consistent freeze-and-chill appearance across the sales area. For retailers, this connects the areas that matter in daily frozen food operation: product visibility, energy efficiency, service access and reliable performance. BOREA FREEZE AIR. For two weeks, part of our showroom became a temporary project hub. A place where teams from AHT and Daikin Europe N.V. coordinated the final preparations for one of the largest internal transformation projects handled by the AHT Group. On 4 May, the project reached an important go-live milestone. Behind this moment were 18 months of preparation, around 150 colleagues from both companies and a carefully prepared cutover plan with 2,200 coordinated steps. During the final phase, colleagues worked closely together across departments, companies and areas of responsibility. The project hub became the place where planning turned into practical coordination. Questions were clarified directly, decisions moved efficiently, and teams worked side by side towards a shared goal. For us, this project is a strong example of business transformation in practice. It showed how much can be achieved when expertise, ownership and trust come together. A sincere thank you to everyone who contributed to this milestone. #naturallyatyourside #daikin #ahtcoolingsystems #projectmanagement #collaboration #teamwork

Frozen food presentation has to balance visibility, efficiency and daily store operation. Products need to be clearly visible behind glass, fit into a modern store environment and remain supported by reliable refrigeration performance every day. With BOREA FREEZE AIR, AHT Cooling Systems introduces a new generation of vertical multideck freezers for modern food retail. The cabinet is designed to give frozen products a clearer stage: slimmer door frames, bright LED lighting and 5% more display area help improve visibility directly at the point of decision. At the same time, retailers need more than a good-looking freezer. Energy efficiency, reliable performance and flexibility in daily operation all matter when the cabinet becomes part of everyday store life. That is the thinking behind BOREA FREEZE AIR. A freezer display designed for modern frozen food merchandising, with the store, the shopper and daily operation in mind. Now available. #Foodretail #Frozenfood #Commercialrefrigeration #Retailmerchandising #AHTCoolingSystems #Naturallyatyourside Niklas Koch-Kastner

Store snapshot from Austria On 30 April, the new RegionalRegal store opened in Weißenbach bei Liezen. AHT Cooling Systems supported the project with refrigeration solutions, including the NEW BOREA FREEZE AIR. Regional store concepts like this have a very specific character. They are closely connected to their surroundings, to local customers and to the people who operate them every day. That also makes the cooperation on site especially important. For AHT Cooling Systems, projects close to home always have a special meaning. Many of our colleagues live and work in the region, so seeing our solutions become part of a local store environment is something we truly value. Two AHT colleagues, who were actively involved in the project joined the opening and had the chance to see the finished store together with the store team and project partners. Moments like this are a good reminder of how much coordination, planning and practical work goes into a store before the doors open. Congratulations to the RegionalRegal team on the opening. We are happy to have been part of this project and would like to thank everyone involved for the good cooperation. #AHTCoolingSystems #BOREAAIRFREEZE #Retailrefrigeration #Commercialrefrigeration #Foodretail #Regionalretail #Storeopening #Naturallyatyourside

More products without more space. That is becoming a key requirement in food retail. Available store space is limited. At the same time, expectations for product range and presentation continue to grow. This puts pressure on how refrigeration systems are designed. Not only technically, but also in terms of space utilisation and integration. With BOREA FREEZE AIR, this approach has been further developed. Up to 5% more total display area compared to the KALEA range. More products within the same footprint. At the same time, flexibility becomes essential. Different store formats require different configurations: _Wall installations _Row layouts _Island concepts _Corner solutions This allows the system to be integrated efficiently into a wide range of store concepts. The result: Increased display capacity combined with high layout flexibility. BOREA FREEZE AIR has been developed to meet exactly these requirements. How important is layout flexibility in your current store concepts? #Storedesign #Retailplanning #Foodretail #Visualmerchandising #Retailengineering #Storelayout #Retailinnovation #naturallyatyourside #ahtcoolingsystems

Most retailers are still evaluating refrigeration the wrong way. Energy is no longer just a cost factor. It is a design constraint. Across Europe, store concepts are being adjusted. Not because retailers want to rethink layouts but because rising energy costs leave no alternative. Yet many decisions are still driven primarily by CapEx. That made sense when energy was predictable. It no longer does. Because refrigeration is not just equipment. It is one of the largest continuous cost drivers in a store. Every hour. Every day. This is where the shift becomes visible. Modern multideck systems can reduce energy consumption by up to 28% while increasing display capacity within the same footprint. Not through one feature. But through the interaction of airflow, door systems and defrost. The implication is clear: Refrigeration needs to be evaluated as an operational system not as a one-time investment. With BOREA FREEZE AIR, AHT Cooling Systems addresses exactly this shift. Available from next week. How are you currently evaluating refrigeration: CapEx or total cost of ownership? #Energymanagement #Retailoperations #Foodretail #Totalcostofownership #Energyefficiency #Retailstrategy #Operationalexcellence #Refrigeration #Sustainableretail #naturallyatyourside #ahtcoolingsystems

You don’t build a healthy workplace overnight. On March 5, 2026, we were once again awarded the BGF quality seal (2026-2028) by Österreichische Gesundheitskasse in Graz. This recognition stands for something we truly believe in: Creating a workplace where health, wellbeing and strong collaboration are part of everyday work, not just initiatives. Because in the end, it’s not about programmes. It’s about people. A big thank you to everyone who contributes to this every day. Without your openness and commitment, this wouldn’t be possible. A big thank you to Gabriele Hackl, Marlene Zabresky and Sabine Pfusterer for their dedication and for continuously driving this forward. #Workplacewellbeing #Employeewellbeing #BGF #Workplaceculture #Healthyworkplace #AHTcoolingsystems #naturallyatyourside Image Credit: ÖGK

Do doors reduce sales? For years, this has been one of the most controversial questions in food retail refrigeration. On one side, the argument is clear: Glass doors on refrigerated cabinets can reduce energy consumption by up to 50%. With rising energy costs and increasing sustainability targets, that is a powerful lever. But many retailers still hesitate. Because the key concern remains: Will customers buy less if they have to open a door? Research and field comparisons suggest that the answer is more nuanced. Sales impact often depends on factors such as: • category type • store layout • door design and visibility • lighting and merchandising • customer shopping habits In several European markets where doors have become the norm, retailers have not reversed the decision due to sales collapse. Which raises an interesting question for the industry. Is the hesitation about doors still based on evidence or more on long-standing assumptions? 💭 Curious to hear your experience. Are glass doors becoming the new standard in your market? 👉 Follow us for more insights on commercial refrigeration strategy.
