What a way to close Day 2, the first joint day of HIV&AIDS+ASRH 2026! 🎉 It was another jam-packed day of learning, collaboration and inspiring conversations. We kicked off the morning hearing from Emily Harper from the Australian Centre for Disease Control in the Australasian Sexual and Reproductive Health opening plenary. Then moved into keynote presentations from Professor Andrew Grulich on the GoGoVAX trial; Dr Dawn Casey, a Tagalaka Traditional Owner from North Queensland, who spoke on STI control in First Nations communities; and Mx Zoïe Alexiou, who shared insights on the real-world policy impact of reducing asymptomatic chlamydia testing. Beyond the plenary, delegates joined engaging and practical sessions throughout the day, including our dedicated GP Workshop and Nursing Workshop, bringing together clinicians to share knowledge and strengthen practice. We also heard from Sue Roth (CAAC) on the implementation of the Australian Clinical Guidelines on HTLV-1 for Aboriginal Primary Health Care settings, highlighting the importance of culturally informed and evidence-based healthcare. Innovations in sexual health innovation are happening all around the world🌏🌟 This #WorldSexualHealthDay, we’re celebrating the progress and people around the globe revolutionising sexual and reproductive health across prevention, testing, treatment, and policy.

At the recent Pacific HIV Symposium in Fiji, communities, people living with HIV, health professionals, advocates, researchers, and leaders came together to ask an important question: how can we strengthen the HIV response across the Pacific?🌏️💭 One message came through loud and clear: the response must be led by and shaped with the people and communities most affected. People living with HIV must be at the table, helping shape the policies, programs and services that affect their lives. Community leadership, knowledge, and trust are crucial to building an effective and lasting HIV response. But the work can't stop there. The ideas, experiences, and solutions shared at the symposium need to travel back to communities, health systems, and leaders across the Pacific - turning conversation into action. Perhaps the biggest takeaway from the symposium was that the Pacific HIV response is a shared responsibility. By working together, listening to communities, and acting on what we know, we can make a difference and improve HIV outcomes across the Pacific💙
