About us

This iconic Australian brand has stayed true to its original vision: sophisticated femininity, a passion for detail and a love of colour and print. Sisters Nicky and Simone ZIMMERMANN founded their namesake brand in Sydney in 1991. Early in its evolution, ZIMMERMANN took the bold step of fusing fashion with swimwear and presented it to the world. It immediately found its following with the fashion elite, creating a new point of reference in flattering, feminine and stylish swimwear. While the swimsuit thrust ZIMMERMANN on to the international stage, it has been its optimistic, feminine and consistently desirable collections across its ready-to-wear and resort that have propelled it to greater global appeal. While based at home in Sydney, ZIMMERMANN present their ready-to-wear collections each season at New York Fashion Week. They maintain showrooms in Sydney, London, Paris, New York and Los Angeles. Working with the highly acclaimed designer and long-time collaborator, Don McQualter, ZIMMERMANN maintains a number of stand-alone stores across Australia, Europe and the USA including flagship stores on Madison Ave in New York and Melrose Place in Los Angeles.

London, our second boutique is now open on Sloane Street. Designed by Studio McQualter, the building’s historic character is celebrated from façade to interior, with expansive windows inviting natural light into the space. An owl sculpture by Australian artist Peter Cooley greets clients on entry, beneath a cast floral ceiling. In the lounge, Tulip armchairs by Eero Saarinen sit beneath a striking Murano glass pendant. In celebration of our Exclusive Capsule Collection with Mytheresa, we co-hosted an exclusive experience on Lake Como. Joined by co-founders Nicky and Simone Zimmermann, we gathered at the historic Villa Erba to celebrate the launch. The evening began with a cocktail reception in the estate’s gardens, followed by an intimate dinner in the villa’s ornate Grand Salon. A vibrant summer celebration, complete with a live DJ set by Fiona Zanetti, brought the night to a close.

  • Our Vienna boutique is now open. Designed by Studio McQualter, the interiors unfold through warm colours, contemporary art and vintage furniture –among them a sculptural Medusa-inspired chandelier, accompanied by a large-scale biro drawing by Australian artist Alasdair Mcluckie. Additional works by Clifford Thompson, Phil James and Robert Fried are situated throughout. Upstairs, a Saratoga sofa and Saporiti chairs are set atop a custom hand-knotted rug.
