Lonely Night.

In the quietness
In the darkness
You are not alone
Just that everyone else
Is scared and frozen still
Listening through the silence
For any signs of life

Doing What is Needed.

We are all capable of so much
so much more
humanity, kindness and compassion
than we give ourselves credit for
So don’t close up
to keep the world at bay
Open up to it all
all the pain
all the fun
all the reality
open up to possibility
Action in ways that scare you
Do for others, what is needed
see what is needed
And may one day someone thank you
in the most honest way possible.

Despise/Despair.

When you’ve been in pain
for so long
Can’t work out how to fix
what’s wrong
Doubting you have the strength
to carry on
Will you see the dawn break
or night continue strong
There is no comfort, it seems
nowhere you belong
Hear not the words of others
single voice nor throng
Feel nothing outside of self
misery’s siren song
Draws you in deep
nothing feels wrong
There is only one hope, soon
the end will come along

A Little Advice.

Others can be so cruel in what they do (or don’t) say and do,
But they’ll never know what is going on inside of you.
Just as you’ll never really understand their thinkingness,
Remember that what others think of you is none of your business.
Look inside yourself with kind love and know,
Following your own heart is the only way to grow.
