Dad Saves the Day Once Again

On Monday we decided to take the kids to a pumpkin patch to pick out their pumpkins and then go home and carve them. My idea of carving a pumpkin is triangle eyes and nose and some sort of mouth anything more detailed then that and you are talking to the wrong person. When we got home with the pumpkins immediately the boys started describing what they wanted on their pumpkins I quickly realized this was not going to be something that I would be able to do and have it not turn out looking like a total mess. It is a good thing we have Mr. Creativity in the house he did exactly what the boys wanted I was surprised at how good it turned out since I could not find the carving knives and he ended up using his leathermen. The boys loved the pumpkins and they had so much fun helping dad.

More Driving Practice for Jaxson

As soon as Jaxson found out we were going to California he could not wait to drive the Go Kart again. He told me that now he was 6 so he would not crash because he is a better driver then when he was just 5. So he was so excited when Grandpa took him out to the shop to drive the Go Kart they said that he did really good this time the only problem he was a little scared to go fast I guess that is what happens when you crash into a semi truck on your first time. He had so much fun and when he got home he kept telling how much better he did now that he is 6. Jaxson is such a fun kid he is growing up way to fast before we know it he is going to be driving a real car.

Fun at the Beach

Since we went to California at the last minute and things were pretty busy for the first few days while we were there the kids were getting pretty restless around the house. The only times they really got out of the house was to go to the hospital and visit my grandma who was sick and ended up passing away on Friday. So this was kind of a hard trip for the kids and everyone else so on Saturday we decided to take them to the beach so they could see the seals and run around. This was Payton first time at the beach and she loved it the only problem was she headed straight for the freezing cold water so we always had to stay close and make sure she didn't run right in. The kids all had fun playing in the sand and collecting rocks, shells and sticks. It was fun to watch them all run around and laugh and have fun together.

Jaxson had to go to the bathroom while we were there so of course Carter had to also it was too cute not to take a picture.

Would you like a Bath with your Bubbles?

When my parents put the new bathroom in their house my mom made sure she put a nice big tub in it and all the grand kids love it. My kids think that it is their own personal swimming pool and they will stay in their forever if you let them and the problem is grandma lets them do whatever they want in there. So I had left the room to get Payton dressed and when I came back in they were all covered in bubbles. My mom had added bubble bath to the tub and then the kids turned on the jets so there were bubbles everywhere the kids had so much fun. They never want to leave Grandmas house they have way to much fun there.

Since Dad was Away it was Time to Play

I will have to admit that hunting season is one of my least favorite times of year. I know that this is something Chris loves to do but it means another weekend without dad around and kids bouncing of the walls because they know mom is tired and dad is not coming home anytime soon. So this weekend I decided to take a different approach and have a little fun with the kids. It was so much better then sitting at the house thinking about how much I hated hunting season. On Friday Kelly and I took the kids to the zoo it was the best day the weather was perfect and the kids had the best time looking at all the animals. After the zoo we ended up at Kelly's mother in laws house where we ate dinner and then ended up staying the night. The kids loved it altogether there were 11 kids and 5 adults they had so much fun playing and watching movies. On Saturday we packed up and headed down to Payson to stay at Robert and Lisa's for the night. We had a couple craft projects for the kids to do and then they just spent the rest of the time running around having fun together.

Payton would not go anywhere near the animals to take a picture. She loves to look at the animals but she wants nothing else to do with them and it doesn't matter if they are real or not.

Aubrey was laying on the floor and Jaxson was tickling her tummy and talking to her she was giggling at him so loud it was so cute to watch them interact.

These are the button flowers that the kids made this kept them busy for awhile they had fun picking out which buttons they wanted to use and then putting them on the wire. When they were done Lisa had a little vase for each of them to put their flowers in.

The things in the back of the flowers are the ghosts that we tried to make with the kids this project did not go as well as we had hoped. Once we got the mixture of glue and water and set it in front of the kids it turned into a total disaster we ended up having to quit that project and move on to something else. Lisa finished them while the kids worked on something different and they actually turned out pretty good.

This is what happens when Payton decides she does not like what you have given her to eat she either plays in it on her tray or just throws it directly onto the floor she is so fun. I guess it is her way of telling us to stick to the things that she likes.

It was a fun weekend with the kids and we have decided that we are going to have to do this every year from now on it makes the time go by so much faster.

One Last Soccer Game and A Sad Change in Weather

Jaxson had his last soccer game on Saturday which thankfully I did not have to attend because it was at the same time as Kaylee's birthday party. I know I sound like a bad mom for not wanting to attend my child's last soccer game but it was snowing outside and freezing and I am not a fan of sitting in the cold. The weather has all the sudden changed from nice and warm to way to cold for me. I know most people love this time of year but I have to say I am not really a fan of snow or just being freezing cold every time you walk outside. The snow is pretty as long as I am looking at it out of a window in my warm house drinking hot chocolate. I already miss those warm summer days and nights I know I have a long time to wait before those come back until then we will try to stay as warm as possible.

Can I lay by you?

Aubrey was laying on the floor playing and Carter went and got a blanket and asked her if he could lay with her. It wasn't to long before Kaylee joined them they were all having fun laughing and rolling around. Carter loves to play with his cousins when you ask him who his best friend is he tells you Kaylee. It is so nice living so close to Kelly the kids all have so much fun together it is fun to watch them all grow up with each other.

Chris' Elk

Chris wanted me to put some pictures up of the elk that he shot this weekend. This was the first elk that he has ever shot so he is very excited about it and so are two little boys. When they walked into our room and saw that he was home the first thing they both asked him was if he shot a elk. When I first met Chris he was not a hunter but when my sister married my brother in law who has hunted all his life he introduced Chris to the world of hunting and ever since then Chris has loved it. For me the only good thing about him shooting this elk was that he came home a day early and he is not hunting this weekend since he already got his elk other then that it just means a lot of meat in the freezer that I am not sure I want to try let alone eat.

Thank Goodness I Married Someone Creative

I am not a very creative person so when Jaxson brought home a paper doll and said that we had to dress it in a Halloween costume I was not very excited. Jaxson then informed me that he wanted to dress it as Darth Vader what a surprise that was. I was looking at the paper doll thinking how in the world am I going to make this thing look like Darth Vader when a thought came to my mind this would be a great project for Jaxson to do with his dad. So I had a play that I was going to and when I got home sitting on the counter was Darth Vader. Chris is so much more creative then I am I could have never made that doll look anything close to Darth Vader and Jaxson had a lot of fun doing a project with his dad.
