We are pleased to share the “Report on the Current State of Automatic Credit Recognition”, a new publication developed within the framework of the AUREA project. Automatic credit recognition is a core commitment of the European Education Area and the Erasmus+ programme. Yet in practice, many students still face delays, partial recognition, or additional academic requirements after returning from a mobility period. These challenges affect students’ academic progression, increase administrative burdens for institutions, and weaken trust in mobility schemes. This publication brings together legal and policy analysis, student data, institutional perspectives, focus groups, and case studies. It provides an evidence-based overview of the current state of automatic credit recognition in Europe, identifies key bottlenecks, and highlights practices that either enable or hinder full and seamless recognition. 📢 ESU Resolution on the EU Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) 2028-2034 The European Students’ Union (ESU) welcomes the Commission’s recognition of education, citizenship, and solidarity in the upcoming MFF negotiations, but stresses that the framework must deliver real support for students, mobility, and civil society. Students must be at the centre of MFF negotiations to ensure accessible, inclusive, and democratic higher education across Europe. Public funding must support mobility, civil society, and student participation, not just nominal objectives. Full document: https://bit.ly/4q4SR0I
