Can we brighten our towns while respecting our heritage? We worked with SIGERLy - Syndicat de gestion des énergies de la région lyonnaise to responsibly light the Clayette car park in Saint-Cyr-au-Mont-d’Or, a designated City of Art and History. We delivered the VERTICALIS solar powered luminaire with: ✅ motion sensors which permanently set the lighting to 10% power and increase it to 100% when a presence is detected ✅ warm white LEDs to preserve local biodiversity and the town’s nocturnal ambiance ✅ a bespoke colour which harmoniously integrates the landscape. It was a privilege to support the Saint-Cyr-au-Mont-d’Or community in transitioning towards a more sustainable future while preserving its charm. We think green today and every day.💚 The Station Tunnel under the tracks at 's-Hertogenbosch Central Station shows how a thoughtful retrofit can lead to a more sustainable and greener future. When the municipality needed to upgrade the tunnel's lighting, the goal was clear: prioritise circularity. Instead of discarding the original Schréder NTL luminaires, which have proven their mechanical robustness over 20 years of service, we engineered a custom LED retrofit kit to give them a second life. The public lighting upgrade in Saint-Denis is about more than just providing functional lighting; it’s about protecting the community and the natural environment. The city has connected over 3,500 luminaires to the Schréder EXEDRA IoT platform to: ✅ enhance public safety by eliminating dark spots and adapting the lighting to the needs of each area; ✅ preserve local biodiversity, especially the endangered Barau’s petrel, by reducing light intensity to 10% in key areas during the critical fledgling months of April and May; ✅ reduce its environmental impact by lowering energy consumption through dimmed lighting during quiet periods. This achievement is the result of strong ongoing collaboration between our local partner, TESTONI REUNION, Toucheboeuf David and the city of Saint-Denis.
